To be honest, I think this witness is handling the cross by the defense very, very well.
Not being awkward or defensive at all.
I think Alessi is getting frustrated that things aren't quite going the way he planned.

It's surprising to me because it seems that the defense cross is helping the CW case as much as the direct examination of this witness by Brennan clearly helped the defense's case.

I disagree, Alessi did ask a question about him being on the case for 2 1/2 years, and Welcher corrected him... I don't think Alessi is frazzled at all, is he frustrated because he won't answer the question asked? absolutely. I think we all are LOL
