just before lunch... Welcher said it was a 'glancing blow'... would a glancing blow shatter a tail light?
Welcher also said that in the newton theory F= Mass x Acceleration / that acceleration is impacted by what type of surface you are falling towards. I am not a science buff but isn't acceleration a function of gravity and what is falling?

Not sure his opinion is worth one dollar. Creative analysis...

So they should be upset at how much this cost the CW. I would be. I'm upset and I'm not even in the same country!!!!

When Alessi first said 44k... I was 'meh, that isn't horrible, more then I'd have paid, but okay' ... thennnnn the rest came out, shocking!

I wonder how much the defense has paid ARCCA at this point, will be interesting to compare.

I know things cost more nowadays but geesh, blue paint cannot be that MUCH!
AARCA's first report was free via FBI.
My understanding is that they are basically using the same report but adding a rebuttal to this Aperture nonsense.
So I am suspecting that the AARCA cost for the project to be much lower than Aperture.

IMO obtuse, unlikeable, Insincere and untrustworthy from the moment he opened his mouth with the fake conversational piece addressed to Alessi. I guess he couldn't help himself. It wasn't his place as a witness to do that and it made him look foolish. Jmo
Foolish and ARROGANT!!!!!

Ask the EXPERT, he should know

No force calculation for JOK's arm on the taillight.

He says they didn't have enough information for that...

Alessi.. I'll take any number you got... 😁

  • #148
Wow. Welcher made no force calculations using the arm.

omg LOL this guy might be worse then Burgess... and he is definitely worse then Trooper Paul.

Wow. What a smartarse this clown is.

Wish I could watch. In office today. Boo.

His demeanor is just so off for an expert that has "no dog in the fight"

Most experts are so confident in their data that they don't mind being challenged. Welcher is not one of them apparently JMO

He said if the vehicle was going more than 8 mph it would likely break the taillight. Under direct.

Yeah, I picked up on that and I believe Welcher may definately have been full of it. The formula is calculated irrespective of the surface of impact surely? The force (that hit JO) equals the mass (of the vehicle) multiplied by the acceleration (of the vehicle)?

I'm not a physicist either, but yeah, isn't the then hypothetical falling backwards a separate calculation on top of that, a calculation which would include gravity? And as for the surface what does that have to do with anything. Welcher clearly demonstrating confirmation bias there or what? Newton's law is a pure formula. Idk, but Welcher did not make too much sense at all on that point. I think that Dr Wolfe will figuratively eat that answer up for breakfast and explain it properly for the jury. Jmo

I have multiple expletives for this witness!

Oh my God this guy is unreal! Only one spot on the license plate can break a hand!

$400,000 plus dogs in the fight??

I would say that this is the first witness that's got the better of the defense lawyer cross examining him.
He's not like the other lame CW witnesses that clearly had an agenda.
I don't see that here. Just a dweeby, anal-retentive type of personality who honestly (in his mind) answers the questions and those answers are not what the defense lawyer is looking for.
