That was exhausting to listen to ... can only imagine how the jury feels after today.

Pretty unbelievable that she is trying to limit or rush him to complete in his cross so that Welcher doesn’t have to return another day. If she would direct him to just answer questions perhaps he would be done sooner.

She would have no problem making ARCCA take a red-eye flight or stay over a weekend if brennan wanted to stretch things out or make them do anything that was convenient for them in my opinion. She's beyond obvious in her bias. Again, in my opinion.

IMO it became very clear today that the CW is highly aware that the key cycles trooper Paul testified to sink their timeline. MOO.

just starting!

They definitely want to keep that information out.

I hope at this point, the defense just brings in Trooper Paul. At least he answered questions, even if it was with "it just did" lol

But didn't someone tell me on here yesterday that the key cycles are definitive proof and there's no room for any other interpretation?

It was pretty weird that Welcher couldn’t keep off his laptop today. Judge Cannone had to warn him multiple times. You’d think he’d be more prepared in a murder trial… (googling answers? JK) MOO

Until they suddenly need to be excluded from the case entirely, apparently. MOO

They’re getting paid. They’re not a not for profit organization. Let’s move on.
The CW is paying out $400K for outside experts when they have accident reconstructionists as part of the MSP already. That’s the issue.

Yeah, I picked up on that and I believe Welcher may definately have been full of it. The formula is calculated irrespective of the surface of impact surely? The force (that hit JO) equals the mass (of the vehicle) multiplied by the acceleration (of the vehicle)?

I'm not a physicist either, but yeah, isn't the then hypothetical falling backwards a separate calculation on top of that, a calculation which would include gravity? And as for the surface what does that have to do with anything. Welcher clearly demonstrating confirmation bias there or what? Newton's law is a pure formula. Idk, but Welcher did not make too much sense at all on that point. I think that Dr Wolfe will figuratively eat that answer up forAl breakfast and explain it properly for the jury. Jmo
I think that is where Alessi's frustration today came from. There was no scientific basis for Welchers statement.
The witnesse's "science" talk is not science. But we are not at a science fair and Alessi cannot get side tracked with the witnesses' nonsense. And boy was there a lot of nonsense. Anybody else but Alessi might have let loose on Dr Welcher. Especially AJ. So many yes or no questions... And the witness rambles on. But in some of those rambles we got the real scoop.
He backed into the Prosecution's charges- he pretty much said so himself. He said to Alessi something to the effect of "I started with the back of the Lexus as a given"....and went from there. Confirmation Bias written all over his report - which btw I think a high school kid could have done.

IMO The expert witness is no more than a surly trashy hired gun.

According to him he has no variable's to work with - he cannot say where the car was/ where John was, but his conclusion is that John was hit by Karen's car.

Hopefuly the jury is savy enough to see thru this gaslighter

So he knows nothing. He DOES know JOK was hit and spun by a glancing blow by the Lexus, but he knows nothing. He's very sure of it, ask him. IMO

The very fact that the CW's case is so dependant on these key cycles and these enormous spreadsheets in front of the jury, is IMO reasonable doubt in and of itself! Why on earth do they need all of these high-difficulty mental gymnastic manouvres to prove a guy was hit by a 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 car?! Why can't they just point to multiple injuries on his body and demonstrate easily that they were caused by vehicle impact, without needing to use any blue paint?

It's not like his body was found in the middle of nowhere weeks after he was struck. He was found in a residential area outside a house where there was an ongoing social event which he was both invited to and expected to arrive at. And no-one saw him. For over 5 hours?

Argh!

No thing makes sure, Jen said she saw Karen move up twice or three times. Ryan saw Karen move up once. Where exactly does Dr show that on the 1162 time line?? And 87 ft....maybe after the tow??

Alessi just messed up again, moved on and didnt even acknowledge.
He even sounds flustered for a few seconds while he gathers himself.

Witness had to tell him he was wrong and mixing up two different things.
Strategically, it would have been a mistake for Alessi to admit to anything with this guy.

The witness is at best a control freak. Alessi has more manners than anyone in that courthouse with most witnesses. Welcher's behavior was so far out of bounds even the Judge was sharp with him.
It took constant reframing for Alessi to get any answers out of him.
So much for no dog in the fight.
I am sure Welcher's behavior and attitude wasn't lost on the jury.
Whats all the fuss ? You are an expert witness -science - just answer the questions.
Very foolish manchild.

Sounds like this is about Troopers Paul and his report.

Welcher used parts of Paul's report in his slides.

Earlier today he was being evasive about Trooper Paul's report.
Kinda like Burgesses' "cut and paste"
Welcher used exhibits from Trooper Paul's info and used findings from the ME Dr SB autopsy too - just not the conclusions.
Not sure what the issue is - not allowed?

And these key cycles - I know I’ve said it before but it stands to be said again- aren’t even proof of collision events!!! They are the data that Aperture is inferring is consistent with a collision event! We are soooo far into the weeds here!

If John's arm was cut by tail light and he had his arm bend at elbow....the cut on upper arm would be horizontal....BUT lower arm would have to be vertical. Dr would not admit it. AND again NO BLOOD on pieces of tail lights.

This Dr is such a fraud, imo. Paid to lie. IMO.
