No surprise that court is over for today. Are we to prepare for more sighing and rushing of the defense by the judge, .....no wonder the trial is ahead of schedule....

No dog in the fight.

No dog in the fight.
Boring these people to death.
Welcher is so uncouth at a murder trial. He uses violent language with no respect for being in a courtroom.
He needs some media training for sure IMO. Came across as pretty unlikable. Brennan even said ‘good afternoon’ and he said ‘it’s morning’ - my god, dude!

I think someone must have talked to him overnight about how he was coming off to outsiders? He seemed a bit less combative today lol

Welcher finishes off with talking about his 130 slides and tells Brennan,
"I suspect I bored some of THESE PEOPLE to death".

What happened to respectfully addressing the jury as "you"?
Ah, yes.
Talking to the little people.
lol
Matches with his "I wouldn't take a persons like that opinion on this" from yesterday referring to the ME.

Now that the CW (EBM) has rested, I would like to provide my two cents.

I have asked on here a couple of times now for anyone to come forward who started watching the trial(s) thinking KR was not guilty, but then changed their minds based on the evidence presented in the trial. Since I have yet to see one person here acknowledge this, I must conclude that the CW has NOT presented a case for a verdict of Guilty BARD.

Seeing as a jury is commanded to begin a trial with an open mind, and assuming the innocence of the defendant, how can one justify any other ruling that NG?

If you disagree or are a person who was convinced of her guilty BARD, starting with the supposition of her being presumed innocent, please let me know. TIA.

I don't see how JBC can exclude crossing about that when Welcher himself testified about 1162 being the key cycle when the "collision" occurred.
No the judge didn't exclude cross-examination of Welcher's evidence that 1162-2 was the relevant key cycle.

She excluded reference to Trooper Paul's testimony last year, because Welcher did his own analysis and reconstruction, which was not based on Trooper Paul's findings. He only used a photo of the odometer reading taken by Zach Clark, which is not using Trooper Paul's analysis.

1162 went unchallenged by the defence.

MOO

When you work back the key cycle 1162... ends up when the lexus is in the possession of the State...

So there we have it... ;)
Total clown show and huge waste of time

  • #471
The key cycle will be addressed and cleared up by the defense and better witnesses. Alessi had limited time with Welcher and had already went over it with him. He didn’t want to waste more precious time on Welcher fumbling like a buffoon over his charts and images.

Wow...just wow...Has anyone here ever seen a judge be so blatant in preventing a defense lawyer to cross examine a witness. What has happened to trying to just get to the truth?
Destroying the truth relys on someone in the judicial arm of Norfolk County, Mass. Disgraceful.

I wasn’t surprised. IIRC I think a juror had an appointment so today was supposed to end at 1 anyway.

It wouldn't be worth it to try and address it with Welcher when all he wants to do is argue and be obstinate. I think I found Jen McCabe more unlikable, but Welcher was a close second.

I can’t think of any of this thread’s ‘regulars’ who started as NG and ended up feeling she was guilty! I like many others actually figured she was ‘probably’ guilty (I will admit - I had a bit of a just world fallacy there, and thought ‘surely she wouldn’t be arrested on those charges if there wasn’t SOMETHING there’), and then as T1 proceeded, completely changed my mind when I saw all the… trying to think of a PG word here… tomfoolery happening from the Fairview Crew and CW. MOO

Explosive as in their already shaky prosecution just blew up on them. They just couldn’t pull it off no matter how much they stretched the facts.

Yes and I will predict when ARRCA takes the stand she will do it to them. So biased. Mo
She won't have to. The ARRCA guys are professionals.

Right. It's pretty clear in Alessi's questions that he was able to ask Welcher and from his argument this morning, the defense absolutley disputes the key cycles still and they will have to address it now with their own witnesses.

I also don't think it's a horrible strategy to let the CW marry themselves to that 1162 key cycle and when it occured if they have witnesses that will now come out and say, nope.

We have all been watching the key cycle debate for a year, the jury has not. So how will that land with the jury when they are shown that Trooper Pauls testing was key cycle 1164 (pretty sure even Welcher said this) and we have video evidence of other key cycles.. it's pretty simple to count back IMO
