Dr Laposata was determined qualified by a federal judge to testify as an expert on dog bites. There’s no reason she shouldn’t be allowed to testify on them today. She’s dealt with dozens of autopsies that involved dog bites, and uses the same methodology as Dr. Russell. MOO

Terrible ruling from what I heard. But it was expected.

I should note.. when I first started posting on this case this year, I really thought the 'bias' judge comments were a bit over the top... and I just skipped them because I really didn't know and it didn't seem that bad last year when I did watch... I do not believe that anymore lol

He was there, he was booted, he was back looking not too sure if he should get comfortable. Was that the only question? Thanks.. IMO
yes, it was about distances from certain points to the doors.

I didn't really catch it all myself, I was half listening. Will have to go back later to watch, it was pretty quick.

brennan lied. JMHO
So Brennan was too stupid to know his own exhibit and the prosecution's own evidence? Come off it. He is responsible for knowing his own key evidence. He mislead the jury. If it was inadvertent then it's gross incompetence, irresponsibility and stupidity. That on it's own deserves a severe admonishment. This is Brennan's case. He is the responsible PA.
But I don't believe he could be so incompetent and irresponsible to not know the evidence of his own case!

Many in sm apparently think it was ok for Brennan to accuse AJ of colluding with ARCCA on the basis of nothing but Brennan's paranoid speculation, and forcing a voir dire in the first week of trial, which ended up amounting to nothing. Yet here we have the leading PA on this case unmistakably misleading the jury and it's just a 'mistake'.

I don't think Mr Brennan wanted to stand up in court and have to say 'I made a mistake'.

I also don't think making a mistake makes one stupid, dumb, incompetent, or corrupt.

MOO

Strongly disagree.

He's beyond slimy and his professional ethics are very much in question.

As many of us are so over this judge, can you imagine how the defense must feel?

Always walking on eggshells for Judge Bev……
Yes but you have to remember, they only see the parts they are in the jury box for. We get to see a lot more of the behind the scenes stuff, which is what makes us all crazy. Hopefully, they are capable of seeing through enough of this however.

Listening to her breath into the microphone is annoying LOL

she has such a small voice, she is trying to talk louder.

Could it be conformation bias??

This court is a joke, imo. How embarrassing for Boston. City of Boston Tea Party.

Edit: ok not Boston!! Norfolk county!

Canton is part of Greater Boston

This isn't Boston. Boston is in Suffolk County!

I was worried for this good doctor as to how well she would hold up during testimony. I assumed her to be a nervous easily confused witness. She has proved me wrong and I expect her to hold up well to brennan's cross. She appears honest and humble to me and I am awe of her accomplishments. JMOO
She is a teacher, easy to see with how she is talking to the jury.

She is talking about his head injury right now.

scrapes vertically above the laceration...

he went backwards onto something with a ridge or ledge surface...

would not be from a flat surface, it would have to have some ridges in it.

according to Dr. Laposata

laceration above right eye...

a force... an object... a fist.....

She def is sick, seems more than the allergies around. Unable to breathe easily. IMO

I did not go to dog bite university. However, sadly, I witnessed our family dog bite my husband. IMO the resulting injury caused by that attack looked just like JOK's arm. Regrettably, the defense is not being allowed to address the potential for JOK's arm injury being due to a dog bite. It is clear Laposata would be qualified to clarify the cause of the arm injuries.

LOL. Nothing to see here of course.
Just watched the hoodie display and questions. It seems the defense didn't even realize Brennan was wrong. They said nothing at the time it happened. Brennan sat down and Jackson began re-direct about Dr Whelcher using a 50% dummy, the force calculations on the hybrid arm, then the shard pieces size, the "tin" with the shards and not one question about the hoodie. Then a sidbar, then Brennan re-cross we're back to questions about velocity, another sidebar. How long did it take for the defense to realize Brennan misspoke about the hoodie tears?

AJ once again pointing out that the laceration to John’s eyelid was not the same blow as the back of the head. Laposata says it’s possible with a fist, or any strong force applied. But a different blow, certainly. Multiple blows, not just one car strike.

It is easy to believe that 1 blow could cause a drunk guy to fall backwards on to something hard. It happens often, unfortunately.
