I"m thinking they will find her guilty on the OUI, in which case, she is guilty of only an OUI, correct? ... and not of manslaughter while OUI?

Are you saying that if they cannot decide on the OUI, it becomes a hung jury on Count 2 in its entirety and she could be retried on that count alone?
If she is found guilty on OUI and not manslaughter, she will only be charged on OUI. They can charge on the lesser included without charging her with manslaughter.

But yes, if they cannot decide on OUI, she can be retried on the entire manslaughter charge. She was not indicted on OUI, it’s a lesser included. So even if they hang on that, the courts consider it hanging on count 2.

What’s sad is pretending that a woman who’s been dragged through two trials doesn’t have the right to acknowledge people who’ve stood by her for years. MOO
She dragged herself through this mess. moo
She wanted to avoid culpability and if she would have taken responsibility for her actions and admitted to what she did (she knows what she did, she told us via national media), paid a fine, enter rehab, etc. she would have been on her way. jmo Instead, she chose to blame innocent people, butt dials, a dog, first responders, LE, anybody and everybody, but her. Its clear imo.

It’s not just in “these threads”. Websleuths approved legal analysts also see and comment on her inexplicable rulings and their thoughts have been posted quite frequently imo. Also, misconduct and corruption are certainly explanations for her odd behavior, but bias and incompetence are also on the table. IMO.
Speaking to your last sentence, I think it could easily be a dynamic combination of all those factors, misconduct, bias, incompetence and a level of corruption. Jmo

Absolutely, only the dui if that happens. The changes the defense got into count 2 language yesterday, make that absolutely clear. The potential for mistrial happens only if they hang on a lesser.

😡 IMO I read something similar in an interview one of the jurors from T1 gave. The juror mentioned that they felt it was odd that JMc had to request her testimony transcripts so often, IF she was telling the truth. IMO, that makes so much sense. The truth is the truth and you shouldn’t need to be reminded of the truth so often. I can see having to look back at transcripts a few times, but it seemed like almost every defense question she needed to ‘refer to her prior testimony’.
ETA because I hit send too soon!

Acting like a bunch of posers.
Kinda sad considering what's at stake.

No matter the verdict, my biggest wish is the defendant disappears from the limelight never to be heard of again.
Not me. I hope she stays in the limelight and continues to expose the grave injustice placed upon both the victim and her. It takes someone with some courage and audacity to expose this kind of government and system malfeasance. Go get ‘em I say.

Curious what you despise about her. I'm genuinely asking. I mean despise is a strong word. Is it the voice mails? Or the way she speaks? Or the way she dresses? I'm just curious. I wouldn't say she is by any means a perfect human, but she has a lot of positive attributes as well and I certainly admire her strength against such adversity.
--Her desire to be front and centre of most everything.
--Her inappropriate back and forth texts with the creepy cop while she was currently in a relationship with the victim.
--At every side bar, her apparent need to not act like 99.9% of all defendants and just stay at the defense table and let the lawyers do what they're getting paid for.
--Her posing on the steps of the courthouse. The man she loved is dead here. Show some respect,

She was definitely coached 100% on what to say, and also coached to smile and be in good humor. It was weird the way she kept smiling at AJ as if she was flirting with him, just like she was with JOK at the bar. The difference of course is that she was in court testifying at a murder trial, not in a bar drinking. I see her as someone who has tried to use her sexuality her entire life to get what she wants from men. It's so evident to me. Really twisted individual.
MOO

Court TV - Vinnie has a copy of the amended verdict slip.
It was just released and includes the whole "stop and sign" stuff from yesterday.
IMO.

So much for a clear understandable jury slip. This judge's forms have to be corrected during deliberation.I've never seen that happen before. JMOO

Pay a fine for the charge of 2nd degree murder? Or do you only think she's guilty of OUI?

Karen didn’t “drag herself” through anything. The state chose to prosecute her with a case full of missing pieces, non credible experts, and changing theories (even mid trial). She had every right to defend herself, and last I checked, refusing to confess to a crime you maintain you didn’t commit is part of our due process right as American citizens.

As for “blaming others”, pointing out investigative gaps or conflicting expert conclusions isn’t deflection. It’s exactly what a defense team is supposed to do in a court of law.

If she’d just “taken a plea,” you’d be here saying she admitted guilt. If she fights for her innocence, she’s arrogant and remorseless. Seems like for some, the outcome doesn’t matter, only that a woman be punished for not being quiet enough. JMO.

ETA: Personally, I don’t have to like someone to still believe they deserve a fair trial, a real defense, and the right to stand up for themselves.

Yeah, it’s just hard to get past all four medical examiners testifying that his injuries weren’t from a car strike. Jmo.
You do not have to agree with me. If his arm was hit and he fell backwards that could very well be what happened and how he got his head injury. Possible in my eyes. Have a good day.

She was forced to go up during sidebars because headphones weren’t provided. Cannone chose not to honor that request. That’s not on Karen.
