I didn't see much of them on the camera - focus very much on KR and her team.
judge just mumbled and ran out it looked like, of course. Focus was on the right people, the deserving. IMO

They have to go to court AGAIN????!!!!!

I don't think she will have the whole team together at the civil court; but, yes, she will have to go to court again. Unless, and I hope this happens, the O'Keefe's drop their suit.

I am pleased with this verdict and think the jury got it right.

IMO, the work we could see being done and invested in by Karen Read’s entire defense team throughout both trials was incredible.

John O’Keefe and his family, especially his niece and nephew are still in need of justice and answers and I hope that if the investigation into death is reopened that it is of the quality and standard he and the people of Canton and that county fully deserve and is carried out with integrity by investigators worthy of his family’s and the community’s trust.

I want to know where Chloe the dog is now. They say she was rehomed, but who now has her?
I thought Nicole Albert mentioned in her testimony that the dog had been moved to Vermont? Or Maine maybe?

Same! Mine is similar to one of KR’s conditions, you could call it the sister condition. I’m in awe of her and how she’s handled all of this. I would have definitely been hospitalized due to all of the stress this would have caused my mind and body. Much less stressful things take me down! Those are VERY PERSONAL within themselves feelings, based on who knows what, to have and voice a personal opinion on anyone. Main thing is to AGREE that she is innocent. Otherwise, not her problem and who can say they would be able to withstand with her long standing health issues, that weaken a person, could keep up all these times with intelligence and involvement in her own trial, and have SUCH support. ADMIRABLE. imo

as a woman with extremely severe health issues i so appreciate your comment and im sure KR would too.

Same! 💜

The snark in Bev's voice while reading the sentencing of the OUI verdict....cringe!

I didn't know she had some conditions, I thought when she was looking a bit unwell it was just the stress of the trial. What a strong woman, I bet she'll collapse in a heap and sleep for a week now it's over.

I didn't hear the judge thank the jury if she even did. After all her sweet phony talks to them during the trial and then nothing when they settle on a verdict.

I thought I heard her say during her remarks on the record that she wanted to speak to them back in the jury room after court was finished?

OMG. I take three hours to do "real" work, and come back to a thread title change that makes me so freaking happy. Now to catch on 20+ pages of posts. I'm feeling giddy about this in a way that's so bizarre to me.
LOL - I was working too and flipped to Youtube and saw the celebrations going on! I will be reading well into the night....

I do not like to post often due to time. I have read and watched the trial. What a relief! I am crying! This is the first time I have cried over a not guilty verdict!

John O'Keefe's life mattered.
[mod snip]

Yes, it did.

I have thought about my time here at WS. On so many threads (especially death of children threads), I hear one poster after another declare that we are here for that person. That, even though the people who should have loved them in life killed them, we are here to make sure that they receive justice. We all care about that person even though we did not actually know them! I am here to tell you that there are many, many dedicated, loving, smart, and wonderful people here on WS that care about John O'Keefe.

How can we care about John and still support Karen? Because we have spent hours upon hours of our own personal time and energy watching this trial, investigating the circumstances, discussing the trial at nauseam, and defending our position at nauseam. We have followed the evidence we believe and we believe that the woman that John loved and whom loved him is not guilty.

My way of honoring John is to stand up to this injustice. There was never a true investigation in to the death of John. That is a true and complete tragedy. The LE that should have cared more about this case because he was on of their own; but they failed him. They didn't even put a scintilla of time that we have invested in to this case to solve the circumstances of his death. They didn't interview everyone that he interacted with that night. They didn't follow proper police protocol : investigate the scene which includes going in the house, document where exactly he was found (even if it happens after he is loaded in the ambulance), red solo cups, leaf blower, grocery bag from neighbor, chain of custody, removing LE that were personally involved with witnesses from the investigation, interviews not conducted in a timely manner, gathering any video surveillance in a timely manner, on and on and on. LE that should have wanted to make certain that this case was solved made enough mistakes in this case to get fired. A tragedy indeed. Injustice complete. An investigation is supposed to be like a story. You start at the beginning and find out what the ending is by following ALL of the bread crumbs. In this case, the lead investigator found a path and followed it without caring about the truth.

The truth will never be known unless someone comes forward to tell the whole story.
Yeeeeeeesss thank you for saying this. Now I will watch for an additional FBI investigation into certain characters that lie to the FBI, lie on the stand, and cover up their actions that night

Yeah, conditions that Proctor felt absolutely fine about mocking/sexualising. She is incredibly strong! Jmo

If so, just to 'thank them'.. love to hear any jurors speak out on their obviously not so great, thoughts of her when able. IMO

The misogyny was strong in this case, IMO.

Yeah that was my thoughts too, my comment was in response to someone saying she didn't thank them in court.

This thread is moving fast so I apologize if this is a repeat:

A statement has been released reacting to Wednesday's verdict from several witnesses, including Jennifer McCabe, Matthew McCabe, Chris Albert, Julie Albert, Colin Albert, Nicole Albert, Brian Albert, Kerry Robert, and Curt Roberts. It states the following:

"Today, our hearts are with John and the entire O’Keefe family. They have suffered through so much and deserved better from our justice system. While we may have more to say in the future, today we mourn with John’s family and lament the cruel reality that this prosecution was infected by lies and conspiracy theories spread by Karen Read, her defense team, and some in the media. The result is a devastating miscarriage of justice."

Good verdict. I'm glad she was vindicated.

Doesn't Jen have a soccer game to get to?

Don't think I care what 'they' have to say. JMO

We have Maddie Soto's case later this year, too, I believe.
That one will be a heartbreaker.

And Donna Adelson's trial set for Aug. 19th jury selection.

This Monday is Monica Sementilli's sentencing, I want a front row seat for that!
