Lally ended up getting more votes for charges from the jury than Brennan (outside of simple OUI). He was working without her videos too.
I never found the clips "compelling", but I also don't believe everything I see in a "clip" ... news, claims of different things, the world is full of short clips about everything lol Something taken out of context seems to be the norm in recent years. Look at news headlines, more often than not, they are misleading too.

The mortally wounded clip... it was pretty clear to me that she meant that morning when he was found, but some people thought otherwise.

Now that I know there will not be a 3rd season, I will go and watch her interviews and Body in the Snow docuseries if I can find them ;)

It should have no impact. She wasn't convicted of hitting him and her insurance company as well as those for the two bars now have an incredible amount of investigative info to fight the case. John clearly wasn't hit by a car. I also doubt Paul's McAlbert pals want to take the stand. Yet again.
The video of KR being served at CFM.
Anyone remember how many drinks she was served?
I don't remember anything from the trial about what she drank at Waterfalls.
All I remember is NA saying when KR arrived she took a glass out from under her coat with clear liquid in it.

It could be CFM is guilty of over-serving but as you said there was no accident so it would hold no water in a civil suit for a wrongful death,

imo

By the way here are the results in the Karen Read poll.

Is Karen Read Guilty of second-degree murder, manslaughter, and leaving the scene of an accident

  • Yes - 22%

  • No - 59.5%

  • I Don't Know - 9.4%

  • I think she is guilty but there is enough reasonable doubt to find her not guilty - 8.7%

No statement from Brennan? 😁
He's checking around for a new client with some affiliation to Whitey. I hear the whispers: I know a guy who knows a guy related to one of his fixers...

“A devastating miscarriage of justice.” A spokesperson from the Albert and McCabe families just shared this statement about today’s verdict in the Karen Read trial @NBC10Boston

Look inward, folks.
And I hope that KR brings a libel claim against every single one of them.

I think the biggest issue that the plaintiffs will have in a civil suit is finding new expert witnesses. Neither Aperture nor Trooper Paul will get the job done for them. And I personally very much doubt that they will find a reputable engineering firm that will state that Karen hit him. The CW must have shopped this case around to a bunch of expert witnesses, and Burgess & Welcher were the best they could do.

The defense will still have ARCCA of course.

The whole reading of the Verdict was a mess, IMO. Very confusing to listen to.
The roaring cheers of the crowd outside made it clear for me :)

Brennan was not likable at all. He was not good in the role of prosecutor.

I'm annoyed that they put that statement out so quickly. Can't go to his funeral, but they were on top of this. I don't think the O'Keefe's have even put out a statement yet?

Someone should have googled "hos long should I wait to put out a statement?" Because this just looks like Jen trying to control the narrative... AGAIN!

Self serving IMO

If you think about it, Lally got closer to a conviction than Hank did - at least on charges related to John’s death.

I doubt O'Keefe can afford any experts. With the possible exception of Trooper Paul if the CW will loan him out for a few hours. 😉

The liability bar is much lower for a civil case, but I don't see his case going anywhere because he still has to prove John was hit by a car. Probably the real reason he stormed out of court as soon as the verdict was read.

Right?! So much money wasted on an outside prosecutor.

I can hear Lally muttering to Hank on the way out, "I told you you should have talked more about the high top tables at the Waterfall!"

If the O'Keefe family want justice for John, they're going to have to pursue the justice that John deserves, not the justice that they want. And I believe they have more power to help deliver that than maybe they even know themselves.

It seemed like he was picked more to defend the CW's (terrible) case than to prosecute a defendant.

Hope they all enjoy having to look over their shoulders the rest of their lives, wondering if the FBI is gonna drop the hammer on them, or any other LEO, murder has no statute of limitations.

I really hope the O’Keefe family backs away from the McCabes and Alberts. Take a step back and think about so much of what was said in court. Those people in that house on that night are the ones that know what happened. They should have called 911 but chose not to.
Agreed it would be a good idea - but I think that train left the station ages ago -
My sense is that they are probably all together tonight -
drinking and commiserating about an unjust world where they have been victimized
