"Michael Coyne, NBC10 Boston's chief legal analyst, said he expects Brennan’s pay to be even higher because it’s not uncommon for attorneys to work 16-hour days during a trial for things like witness preparation, document review, and analyzing research science.

“It’s fair to say the total compensation will be well in excess of $500,000,” Coyne said.

Brennan’s first contract called for a maximum payout of $75,000. However, that has been amended several times since then. The most recent amendment was a maximum amount of $300,000 in early April, just as the second trial was getting underway, according to the document obtained by NBC10 Boston.

Outside of the courthouse, there are other big-ticket expenses for taxpayers.

Law enforcement had an extremely visible presence as they enforced a court-imposed buffer zone and provided security for the defense, the prosecution, and jurors as they traveled to and from the building.'

If they found her guilty I'd accept it but I definitely wouldn't be here crying about jury intimidation and other made up stuff. Was it jury intimidation during T1 when the McAlberts were staring daggers at the jury during closings? Funny, certain posters didn't mention that then. JMO
And Paul O'Keefe for eight weeks straight staring with real menace at KR within direct sight of the jury. And cannone did nothing. At least he was moved to a more neutral position this time. That court room is so small.

I'm entitled to my own opinions.

By Yuri lurking in the hallway last Friday morning, waiting for the jurors to walk in for closing arguments?
YEa, what on earth was that about. Why did he do that??

<modsnip - quoted post was removed (rumors)>

I watched body in the snow last night. Karen says there are a lot of women and ex girlfriends who live in Fairview. She was convinced he was with a woman that night and ignoring her. Her voicemails get more frantic as the night goes on. She sounds completely desperate (and I’m not saying that in a bad way) and heartbroken in the last message. She’s obviously crying. Sounds defeated and broken hearted. She’s no longer angry. She’s heart broken

I agree with you, I'm glad the jury paid attention to the science and physical evidence.

I believe she was on patrol until the call came in. I remember her saying she was in her car in the parking lot or something like that.
Yess. After the call came in she was ordered to dispatch (so the boys could handle the scene etc) IMO

It's really telling that Brian Higgins was not included in that statement from the gang!
I wonder if he got demoted from his friendship with them?
It always bothered me that Brian Higgins, the big galoot that he is, stated in testimony that he was close friends with Brian Albert and Kevin Albert, while Brian Albert testified he didn't consider BH a close friend. There was distancing by the Alberts right from the beginning.
I saw BH as trying to fit in with whomever would include him, that he always wanted to have company or be with someone, usually at a bar or drinking events, and that he didn't fit anywhere really, like a leaf blowing in the wind.
I found that he lurked around Karen Read likely even before he "drove by" John's home and went out of his way to turn his car around to talk to her when she flipped him off and told him her bf was a Boston cop.
She picked up on his attraction to her, and when KR finally paid some attention to him, he thought he'd won the lottery! At the same time, because he's such a loser, he couldn't believe she'd be interested in him and could never embrace it, constantly questioning her like an insecure man that was always defensive with her, insinuating this or that, such as what we read in those texts. I don't believe he cared one bit about John O'Keefe with his flirting with Karen Read. He only cared about being found out.
I still think he did something that night to affect John O'Keefe's life.
MOO
I gather if the O'Keefe's 'wrongful death" suit goes to trial BH will be called by KR's attorney(s) so he's laying low not giving anymore ammo to KR?
IMO

Yes, Peg had no love for Karen, and neither did Keri. And remember Keri picked up Peg to take her to the hospital, so I'm sure Keri blamed Karen from the start. Keri and John had dated in the past. Maybe she resented Karen. For sure was jealous.

And Keri and Jen screeching in court that Karen kept calling their names was creepy. Connected at the hip. Friendly to your face, stab you in the back.
Erin O'Keefe, who was good friends with KR, testified that she and KR also spoke about Peg being at JOK's house and it was a problem.
imo

It’s always bothered me that Kerry Robert’s told KR to ‘shut up’ while she was reacting to finding her boyfriend, gravely injured, on the front lawn. I don’t believe MOST people (not including folks who’ve been dx with a serious mental illness or personality disorder) can control their reactions when receiving awful, life-changing news. A person reacts the way they react. Moo
Kerry and JMc’s testimonies about KR’s behavior that night were disgusting.

It still sticks in my craw that on the morning after her son is found deceased, Mrs. OK asked Kerry and JMc to create a ‘timeline’. That seems so strange to me.

One remaining question is why Brennan and/or the defense didn't investigate exactly when Officer Devers left the Canton Police station?
I don't think most officers punch in and out to work but video footage of her actually leaving could be found since evidence from the station shows even when doors are opened and closed in the interior and upon entering and exiting.
There's also parking lot footage that could have been available.

Data can be manipulated. The science, physics and medical information cannot. IMO

They were awful to her during the car ride. A normal, empathetic person would be reassuring her that they’d find him, holding her hand, telling her it would be ok, etc. These women were mean as hell to her in a very vulnerable moment. Really speaks to their character.

They know all eyes on them....
Most folks would just fade into the background and quietly support the OK family. No need to make their own statement. The part where they write that they may say more in the future is laughable. Unless you’re going to confess, no one wants to hear from you again, moo. 🙄. Read the room. This isn’t Canton and most people outside of Canton don’t think you’re as ‘important’ as you think you are, They’re just a bunch of adults that act like they’re still in HS. Moo

not one person that was in that courtroom has even alluded to that... just because it wasn't the outcome you wanted, doesn't mean the jury didn't do their job.

JMO
TB had been in that courtroom and all his followers were outside everyday of the trial, social media strikes again. ALL just my opinion.

Who knows with Yuri, but they made him go to a different room upstairs, from what I read. He tried it again when they came back from lunch.
IMO.
