In cardiac arrest and not breathing when emt's arrived.
Thanks, I somehow missed that! Wild that with that information HB still went on his tangent of "he could've been saved if only Karen did something" to Dr. L.

These people are disgusting. IMO, by the mere coreographed statement and any appearances that they can orchestrate shows guilt. A chance to get in front of anything that they can that may be discovered later. An innocent person would just mind their own business and go on. They protesteth TOO much.

It's that looking in the face of evil you read about in horror stories. IMO
4:40 onwards in that video is literal insanity.

Maybe that was his attitude about life.
My closest friend who died always said its all gravy baby. That was on a lot of his memorial stuff. I think people are looking into the phrase too much

I wonder if the O’Keefes know about this redemption tour and if they approve or disapprove. I think I would want it to end if I were them.

Mine is everything is a stage :) meaning 'the stage' . I wish it was only a movie JOK. IMO

Much of Brennan’s cross-examination focused on Laposata’s conclusion that O’Keefe died within 15 to 20 minutes of sustaining his brain injury.

Exactly! He just wanted his day off after a night of partying hearty. No need to investigate or see if he could help. Just wanted to stay away from any problem because it wasn't HIS problem. Well, guess what, it became his problem and will continue to be his problem for a long long time.
MOO
Easier I gues to rehab and sell your house. Then RUN!!

This last idea ^ ("the more they talk, the more they leak") needs to be spotlighted and fully appreciated. Thank you for the reminder.

While its certainly annoying to see these lying liars given air time to try to sell the public on their lies, let's applaud that they are talking and blathering on and on and on. Let them speak!!

Every word offers a glimpse into the mind of one of the people behind the veil that night, who do know what truly happened. Even if physical evidence has now been buried, the truth of what was done to JOK by one or more of their group burns within them, and they also each have personal incentive to embellish their own story of innocence at the expense of the others.

Keep talking, all of you. We are listening to what you want to share.
Maybe these clips will be used in a future trial

Not only that, but many who saw and heard the same evidence and still argued she was certainly guilty. "The evidence in its totality". "Digital data doesn't lie". "Special Prosecutor HB is brilliant". "The blue paint experiment was genius". "Shanon with one 'n" never lied about his education". And on and on. It was beyond illogical to me.
MOO
For some, feelings always trump logic. It’s unfortunate for all of us when they end up on a jury.

The big question I have for the Pro Karen camp is…if she went back looking for John, and she thought he went inside the house, why didnt she just go to the front door -bang on it and ask the Alberts? Or…after she “immediately” found the mound of snow that she knew was him….why didnt she THEn start slamming on the door? Or what didn’t Jen call the Alberts?

You're right, I just didn't understand why if that was the case why HB would drone on and on about how he could've been saved if KR 'did the right thing'. But, of course, nothing about the CW's case made sense

Idk, because she didn't know them very well and there was a blizzard and she didn't even wanna go to this "party" and JOK's kids were gonna be home alone?

I got the feeling HB was intimidated by Dr. Laposata. Even his greeting with her before he started questioning felt rather timid and awkward. He had a different demeanor during her questioning than with any other defense witness.

He’s worked with her before and I just feel like there’s some sort of history there that made him act differently with her. Maybe he secretly respects her. Maybe he knows that SHE knows his old tricks and won’t be frazzled by him. Not sure what the issue was there.
Well put. Agree with all. Dr Laposata was Chief Examiner in RI for something more than 10 years IIRC. I did a little digging; she has testified in that capacity at more than a dozen trials. I'm sure defense attorneys have made runs at her in the past...and she's a smart lady, she has figured out that once she has formed and forwarded her opinion, anything that conflicts with that is speculative and distracting to her point. Quite likely that BH not only has interviewed her as a potential witness in the past but has reviewed her past testimonies in court....and essentially knew he wasn't going to get her to shift or yield with anything substantial. Cause she knows his type of tricks.....

Most of that true of the ARRCA pair as well. They have had experience at trials and deferred to reinforce any of the speculations from BH or speculate themselves. Here;s what we reviewed, here's what we devised, here's why we did it; here's what the outcome told us. Nuff said.

To some extent, Dr. Russell contrasted with that: She was a little verbose and left little strands for BH to pick at...which he did. She is highly intelligent, greatly experienced, made an effective witness; and has intentions of continuing to be employed as an expert witness. She no doubt learned a lot from her limited role in both trials, and was better prepared for both the limitations imposed by the court (for her it was a rebuff) and the cross from HB in T2 than she was in T1.

Yes, in retrospect JOK was already deceased by the time help arrived, but BA couldn't possibly have known that at the time (wellll, unless....), and using it as his excuse for not having gone outside. Geez I hope there's some further investigation, the more they talk, the more they leak info.
I get that, but when I heard him say that I don't think he meant that John was "gone" meaning "dead" as much as that he/his body had already been removed from the scene by the time he woke up.

after immediately finding JO I don't doubt "slamming on the door" was the farthest thing from her mind. JMOO

She was in a combination of a state of panic, still intoxicated, no sleep, freezing cold and in a strange place in the dark. I don't put a lot of weight on anything that came out of her mouth at that point. That said, Jen seem perfectly rational and awake. I think Karen's only concern at that moment was what happened and how do we save John?
