I do think they should keep talking but not if the questions are soft.

Gotta love how the Alberts, McCabes and Proctors are so busy on the redemption tour but it’s making them look worse and worse.
Where was Chris's wife. Hiding? Too emotional for her because of a secret that this group is hiding? Oh I think so.

I also saw an interview w David Yanetti and I wish I could remember who it was with. He explained he got a call from Karen out of the blue, thinking it was a drunk driving case at first, and then something she said (I can't recall what was said), made him take the case. He has believed in her from the beginning IMO.
The good Lord works in mysterious ways.

The "gift" offering to Michael Proctor falls right in Julie Albert's lap.
She is not about to appear on any program.

ETA: IMO

Not a cop here either but I would put on my big boy pants and go outside no matter who was out there lying in my yard, or any of my neighbors yards for that matter.

MOO
Truth! ❤️

Glad to see this outcome! I watched the first trial religiously by the minute but this time around, I couldn’t do it. Not sure why - it all felt too heavy. (Alleged) Dirty policing and the weight of a(n) (alleged) biased justice system makes me feel… grimy. I was convinced she was going to get railroaded.

I missed my WS friends!

It looks like there were new people on the stand, too. And some changes from v1.

RIP John, may he get some justice. Hopefully Karen can piece together her life and have some sense of normalcy.

My closest friend who died always said its all gravy baby. That was on a lot of his memorial stuff. I think people are looking into the phrase too much

I say this all the time too.

My guess is she didn't even know the address and probably didn't know how to get back .. the reason she called Jen in the morning.

You mean you expected her to go bang on the door instead of helping John? I don't see the logic in that, sorry. Now Jen... she could have done that once EMTs were there, but she was too busy talking to everyone.

All IMO

She could have just lied in bed and not cared while he was dying in the grass. That's what his "good friends" were doing. JMO

I honestly hope so. It would seem the Alberts immediately encircled the O’Keefe’s to plant seeds in their minds about Karen.

It reminds me of cases where the killers participated in searches, went over to the families homes to “comfort” them only for it to be uncovered that they were involved.

I understand disappointment in not getting justice for a loved one. But everyone deserves a fair trial, KR was pegged as a murdering “Ice Queen” before trial 1 even began. Victims families have to understand that when the state gets it wrong, valuable time and resources are wasted. Even IF the person on trial is guilty, a shoddy investigation and corruption creates appellate issues that could result in a conviction being overturned.

I believe in their heart of hearts, the O’Keefe’s knew KR wasn’t guilty. But they wanted someone to pay. They were manipulated and convinced by the Real Housewives of Canton that KR was so reckless and callous, that she left her boyfriend to die on someone’s front lawn.

KR is not that dissimilar from JOK’s sister and mom, career wise. Allegedly, JOK was fighting with his family over money for the kids. I’m willing to bet my own money that KR had some thoughts/recommendations on how that money should be invested/distributed for the kids. And why shouldn’t she? Financial asset management was her domain, so much so that she was successful and well-off herself…until the CW basically destroyed her career and finances.

I could see a world where Peggy didn’t want her advice or opinions on the kids. KR was “just a girlfriend” even though she went above and beyond to help care for JOK’s niece and nephew, during COVID, which was hard for everyone including parents. KR was teaching at the college level, then she was thrust into caring and helping the kids with school full-time while working from home.

She “spoiled” them with gifts and saw the deep anguish the death of their parents caused, she wanted to help even if it was just materially. She encouraged JOK to get therapy…he wasn’t a fan.

KR tried her best and it wasn’t enough for the O’Keefe’s, IDK why. Now, they need to move on and open their minds and eyes.
What was the alleged disagreement between JOK and his family over the funds? I missed this.

I can understand not wanting advice from Karen regarding investments and distribution of the funds. It can potentially get to messy. My husband handles our financial investments. He help our son get started and once he married, our daughter-in-law who has a master's in accounting and is a CPA asked him to manage their investments.
My husband recommended what to look for in an agent and how to keep up with the trends but he graciously turned it down because he wouldn't be comfortable when the market drops.

Soft for sure. And yet they still managed to get a rage response out of Brian Albert.

He's a scary guy.

But where's Higgy?

I think some version of this may be as close to “the truth” as we will get. Once I heard that the CW prevented LaPosada from mentioning the garage, I went to Zillow and looked at the pictures of the house. I started wondering about how many doors the garage has. (It's not pictured. And no stairways are pictured except the outside front.) There's the one off the secondary front entryway, mentioned in the quoted post. But just going by the floor plans and the interior photos of the main house, where is the door that would let someone who pulled their car into the garage access the house without going back outside? There isn’t a door in the TV room/fireplace room, which abuts the garage. Is there a back door in the garage leading out onto the deck? I can’t tell from the Zillow photos. (You'd still have to haul your groceries outside to get to the back kitchen door, not a plus.) But if there is a rear garage door, that would let someone move Officer O'Keefe's body from the garage to the basement (using the bulkhead double doors) with no one in the house seeing them. Thus the need to redo the basement. Garage primary crime scene, basement secondary.

Like many people, I have trouble buying the “massive conspiracy” theory. Benjamin Franklin said, “Three can keep a secret, if two are dead.” He was a smart man. In some ways the Alberts, McCabes & Co and the Canton cabal remind me of the Mafia. Which is why they needed a mob lawyer to defend them by convicting KR.
A conspiracy in this case only had to hold up until KR was convicted. Then the problem would go away.

I can sum up most of that long, gruelling court case in two words:

Objection!
Sustained
!

Over and over and over again.

For goodness sake, even the jury sent a note to the judge asking that the witnesses just be allowed to answer the questions.
If I had been a juror, that would have made me very wary of both judge and prosecutor. They overplayed their bad hand.

Would anyone here know why JOK's headstone says, "It's only a movie".
Tara Kerrigan actually answered this in her interview with Boston Magazine.
She said John would say ‘it’s only a movie’ after the death of his sibling. So I think John’s family was referencing that feeling of unreality upon losing him.
Here's a quote from the Boston Magazine article

...in the months following the loss of his sister, his brother-in-law, and his friend—a time when it seemed as though the light in his eyes had all but been extinguished. When people asked him how he was coping, he’d answer that he’d tell himself that none of it was real. “It’s only a movie,” I remember he used to say. “It’s only a movie.”

Love Nicole Albert's comment about having no idea anything was happening until Jen "burst" into their bedroom. Liar. Jen called at 5:07 am, almost certainly to warn them that she couldn't persuade Karen to go to Tom Beatty's house and they'd be coming by. The phone record is clear - they spoke.

And Brian Albert's total non-answer about why he didn't come outside. Despite the fact that so much was going on right under the window of the bedroom he claimed he was in.

I'm hoping the FBI is still lurking in the shadows. And that these awful people don't get away with this crime. The Birchmore case gives me hope that they will not.
Who is Tom Beatty?

I wonder how the OKeefe’s feel hearing that Brian Albert couldn’t be bothered to go outside and render aid after knowing their son was gravely injured on his lawn?

  • #477
Glad to see the jury disregarded, and now when interviewed they don't even mention KEY CYCLE 1162 JMO

Higgy is slightly smarter in that he has realized he should lay low and the less he puts himself out there, the better.
