Here's a quote from the Boston Magazine article

...in the months following the loss of his sister, his brother-in-law, and his friend—a time when it seemed as though the light in his eyes had all but been extinguished. When people asked him how he was coping, he’d answer that he’d tell himself that none of it was real. “It’s only a movie,” I remember he used to say. “It’s only a movie.”

That was a very nice article. I imagine Tara is a writer because it's very well written.
It's also very sad what that family has went through with the daughter having brain cancer, then the SIL who the article says had a heart attack but who HB claimed died by suicide which was a shock to hear in the trial (????), and next the tragedy of John dying in the snow.
I enjoyed seeing Tara in court every day and I have the sense she's a good person who cared very much for her dear friend. She seemed to keep to herself at the end of the bench mostly, away from the drama of some of the others, no dirty looks or smirking.
It's only a movie is a unique way at viewing a tragedy IMO.

A friend of John's from Canton. Both he and his daughter Erin were on the defense witness list for both trials. Erin told her father that Jen McCabe and a friend confronted her after John's death because she had a story about Colin Albert calling her that night for a ride. Jen's friend apparently said some appalling things to the then teenager.

According to Karen, that morning when she called Jen to see if she knew anything about John's whereabouts, Jen said "let's go to Tom Beatty's" but Karen wanted to try to retrace John's steps and return to Fairview.

Some speculate that the answered call between Nicole Albert and Jen at 5:07 am that morning was Jen's heads-up to her sister that Karen wanted to go to Fairview.
Thank you for the explanation!

I think it is crazy that she will have to defend herself again. She has the truth on her side; and this time, she can say the words FBI and DOJ. She can turn this on it's head. I wonder if there is any way she could countersue them for the cost to defend herself in this civil case - the trial proved that John was not hit by a car. I know - fantasy thinking...
She can absolutely sue the jurisdiction. People do it all the time for malicious police action or prosecution. I don’t think the county officials would want to subject themselves to discovery. They would be ready to settle in a heartbeat. Settle =no discovery

I read today that the O’Keefes are asking for 50k in the civil suit. Since Karen will likely be defended by her insurance company, they’ll probably settle. 50k isn’t that much.

I don't have access to the lawsuit right now, but my guess is that's just the floor that was cited in the Complaint to get/keep the matter in Superior Court. It's not an actual settlement demand.

This interview with Alessi and Yanetti is so good! Their kindness and classiness shines through. Ian is asking a lot of good questions, too.
They are soooo good! So happy I remembered to go listen!

The main question we want to know is why, why the intense need for the Alberts and company NOT be touched in this 'investigation/trial. Convicting Karen Reid, or anyone else, would ensure that the Alberts family would be safe from being found the killers, one way or another, of Officer John O'Keefe. Period. Starting with D.A. Morrison, downward. Interference, anything to throw the jurors into confusion in the first and the 2nd. Anything to sway the jurors that the defense were 'pathetic' and not to take anything from them or their specialists seriously. BLATANT. The need for exposure of this reason is MASSIVE, hence, the MASSIVE need to makes sure Karen Reid was convicted. It started immediately. If it was the plow driver and that story was accepted by all, still, no need to look at the Alberts, whose lawn JOK was found. All in the timing of who and when JOK was found as 'Tell them the guy never came in the house' per Matt McCabe, when in a group chat texts with the party house people and a reporter was in Chris Albert's pizza place, again, getting out ahead of 'it'. He also said, if she pleas it's over, if she fights it, it's an episode.' I always have to say, 'what in the world was it to YOU, Matt?' IMO
Brian Albert probably has some dirt on Michael Morrissey.

They are both filthy.

In my very humble opinion that is.

IMO

Over two hours and they’re still talking. I was really hoping they would be on Dateline or something but this is way better.

I agree.. these podcasts are a 1000000% better than anything they can do on cable. The unedited interviews leave use with no questions about what they meant, what they said, etc.

These 2 are the definition of bromance LOL They really do love each other! and they said they feel the same about Jackson, Little and KR. They will all have a very special bond going forward. They lived together in a hotel for months away from their families.

Really interesting to hear Alessi say that the prosecution fought extremely hard to force the defense to have to call Proctor to the stand when they didn’t want to and the prosecution fought tooth and nail to not let them get the texts in without Proctor on the stand

He is adorable! There is just something about him that makes him that way. I was kind of hoping that one of the three guys were not married and that we would have a Cinderella story.

I finally got to see Chloe yesterday. “I bit him-I bit him-I bit him”

I suspect Dr Laposata (sp?) reviewed photos of the scene and suggested the garage step as potentially fitting the wound on the back of his head. I believe she was only part of trial two? Or at least I don’t remember her during trial one.
Dr L was not a witness during Trial 1. I'd like to know how the defense found her. She was the best witness of them all! Very convincing in a knowledgeable and educated way.
MOO

Jury Foreman Breaks Silence

Quick but really interesting interview with the foreman! Also finally answers the question about what happened with the first “false alarm” verdict

I don’t understand the strategy behind the prosecution wanting the defense to call Proctor to the stand? Seems like the prosecutor wouldn’t want Proctor anywhere near the stand whether he was called by them or the defense….

In case you all didn't know or aren't watching... Yanetti and Alessi doing an interview together right now on Runkle... it is great!

If you go to you tube and just put in Yanetti and Alessi interview.. it should pop up.
There are so many happy people watching that it is lagging and I am still trying to watch.
