I'm hoping BIG the info WAS passed to Morrison, but what was HER pay off? Her motive. Who contacted her or did she act on her own to gather the info and give it to the 'highest bidder'. It's insane, the risk and now she has been found out of course. IMO
Some people insert themselves just to become 'relevant' to something. Like I know and you don't.

A social worker and soccer coach, I think this juror was part of a gossipy "group chat," and she got caught confirming said gossip. A 'nothingburger' where the punishment fit the crime-- but sent a message to others. JMO

7/15/25

Leslie agreed to a sentence of incarceration for one day, deemed served, and 24 months of supervised release, court records said.

A plea hearing was not immediately scheduled.

Federal prosecutors did not say how they learned Leslie had disclosed secret grand jury information, but sources said authorities had been monitoring social media accounts and other communications during a case that received widespread attention.

TB insists the specific gossip was related to the scandal involving State Police officers illegally issuing commercial drivers licences to people who failed their driving tests. For a fee, of course.

While this might not be related directly to the Karen Read case, it may tend to confirm that the Feds are or were looking in depth at the State Police, which would include an assortment of cases, including Birchmore and Read.

I think things flamed out quickly for her since she ghosted him. Either she changed her mind about pursuing a relationship with him or she got grossed out after she went to his place.

Then there is the final text from her to him saying “John died” and he didn’t reply. Not even something generic like “I’m sorry”, to me, speaks to his involvement.
First thing that came to my mind was this. IMO he already knew he was dead because he was somehow involved in it and it was already set in motion to cover it up by any means necessary

I'm wondering how the police could issue commercial licences? That is only done by a department of transportation, never a police department.

Here's the AI explanation:

In Massachusetts, state troopers, specifically through their Commerical Driver's Lincensing Unit, administer CL skills tests in the process of issuing CDLs.
While the Massachusetts Registry of Motor Vehicles (RMV) is the agency that ultimately issues the licenses, the state police play a crucial role in the testing and evaluation of applicants.

Scary thought when you think of how big some of those rigs are.

Ohhhh, that is a very good point! Not responding about the death to keep himself out of the story. Best not to say ‘sorry, I didn’t know that’ or I just got the news’. He didn’t want to be on record saying a single thing.

My thoughts were that he wanted to snub KR. It was a traumatic moment and he didn’t respond to it. Like in his sick mind ‘you weren’t there for me so I am going to be ambiguous about it’.

Depending on circumstances of a break up, people generally either do or don’t respond to an ex that didn’t want to break up. It can be difficult to deal with a non responsive ex. Some say ‘no response is a response’. I agree with that.

Oh no question about anything you have written.
When I say that LE needs to do right by her - by no means do I mean they keep her - they cannot.

But whether it's reaching in to their slush fund/miscellaneous and getting her a scholarship to be retrained in something else - I don't know what it looks like - calling in favors and putting her with a large corporation etc. Something

She's a kid of 26 - who made poor decision under the stress of " damned if I do damned if I don't " -
They need to help her through this
JMO
I disagree. In our state you MUST appear in court when ticketed for speeding in a school zone. When i was 29yrs old I was going 31?mph in a 25 mph school zone. Had to appear in court.

I was TERRIFIED in the courtroom. Court rooms and judges are intimidating. I could barely state and spell my name for the judge without crying. I got choked up b/c I felt so much shame.

Officer Dever got busted LYING TO THE FBI and THEN lied about a lot under oath. Doesn’t matter who advised her to do it. She is a sworn police officer. She’s a big girl, and she knew better. 26 years old or 50 years old, she knew better.

The irony of her being a police officer who lied and then lied under oath. She arrest people who lie about everything. No one wants to go to a dentist with rotten teeth.

IMO she may have leaked to JMcC. her linkdin went dark super quick, unfortunately I didn’t get a screenshot of it. She was a high school soccer coach and who’s the soccer mom…
Every parent of a child under 10 .
Jen is quickly aging off those fields.
Until she watches grand kids play.

If you read those texts closely, there had definitely been something going on between BH and Read. They were flirting heavily in the texts, basically using texts after an impulsive kiss one night, to feel each other out in that awkward way where you are interested but don't want to be too transparent about your feelings. Both were interested. Neither said no. Both wanted more. Each wanted the other to be more openly aggressive. Both knew "I have flaws" and as experienced adults were clearly being wary as a result. Lot's of expressions of being free to do as they pleased. Many comments about drinking, but it sounded more like their social construct ("join me for a drink" and "do you have anything there to drink" and "are you going out for a drink") to enable uncommitted -but-exploring interaction than a desperate desire to consume alcohol.

It stands to reason they moved from texting to communicating by phone calls, and then talking (and more) in person. Reading between the lines (where there are gaps in texting), there had definitely been some sort of relationship that included meeting up at her house, his, or both. But did they continue to chase each other, or did things between them flame out quickly? Not enough here to answer that.

All that having been said, it doesn't really explain how JOK died, since he wasn't hit by her vehicle. But it does make me want to know way more about Higgins' actions that night.
Zero evidence at trial about phone calls between them, and we all know if there had been evidence of any, it would have been brought up.

Zero evidence at trial about phone calls between them, and we all know if there had been evidence of any, it would have been brought up.
The evidence that there had to have been other communication between BH and KRead beyond the texts (presumably, and logically, phone calls) is in the wording of the texts. IMO all we have to do is read those texts, with an eye to the times and dates and sequence, and it becomes obvious more was communicated and happening outside them.

"if there had been evidence of any, it would have been brought up [at trial]" -- I really don't think so. The texts were already in evidence, showing "something" had happened that seemed to have run its course, and all of that was discussed at trial. But what further would there have been to gain by chasing and proving to the jury they had apparently also talked on the phone here and there, but "sorry, no one knows what was said"? And which side would have wanted to use their efforts on that sort of dead end? The def wouldn't. Does the state want to try to force that info out of Higgins? Remember that he destroyed his phone so it would not be found, so he wasn't really that open to sharing all.

Am I saying the existence (or not) of phone conversations - given the known texts - changes anything at all as to what might have actually happened, and the trial? Not at all. I was just offering a side observation. But the fact her vehicle didn't hit JOK means she didn't kill him and was elsewhere (at home, obviously, or driving there) when someone else killed him and eventually put his body on the lawn that night. That's the bottom line.

So if you don't agree with me about the calls, fine by me. It's not a biggie either way imo, as the texts already told us what there is to know or infer about the relatonship between BH and KR.

It's just my 2c.
