Also T

Sorry I did t get back Thanks Y for responding
Her cousin T did say in the podcast that she was supposed to/going to pick her up so we know that they had that part planned out but AFAWK no time was mentioned so MOO the pick up time was what T was waiting on from Sandra but that call never came. I was just thinking how when she was asked if Sandra was with her, Ts response was like the idea of her being there was not even a possibility, it was NO, WHY? I find it curious is all. MOO
That is a great point imo why didn't laina call T or Linda when she didn't get an answer on sandras phone all day imho I would have. also laina said if her mother didn't answer she would always call back. Sandra didn't just ignore and imo seeing Sandra did not have a car And also waiting to here about her car. I find it odd that it would be assumed she didn't want to talk as stated yet if someone watched the kids they called the night before because that's how we roll is what the Sil said. Imo I would take the 5 minute drive and see what was going on.

I believe Sandra's daughter addressed the lack of recent photos in her sit-down interview with local reporter Bob Ward...she said kind of ruefully that her mother "didn't love the camera." Sandra may have been self-conscious about her teeth because I noticed that in earlier photos her teeth show when she smiles but not in the later ones.
There were children's birthdays that laid as father was there but not Sandra so that could be why no recent pictures

Just a thought that came to mind. It almost seems like LM didn't know or forgot SC was planning to spend the night at T's house; otherwise when the mechanic called she would have tried to reach SC at T's house.

Imo call T or Linda. In my experience whoever owns the car is contacted for the repairs by mechanic. Imo if I were in LM's shoes I would have wanted to know what other repairs needed to be done and made contact with my mother, called around for her and shown up. Where was Sandra? Imo you find out. Its human nature imo. 5 minutes away is not far to Check in on. imo go to work when lights are on and dog without food and scared? No sign of Sandra???!!!

As stated in an earlier post by Yemelyan (imo a trusted and reliable source of info along with Dotrat) the mechanic was a neighbor/ friend of LM and her husband and it was prearranged that the mechanic would call LM to discuss repairs etc. Every person/ family handles things their own way.

JMO but if I'm spending time on a beach with my young kids on my day off, and my mechanic calls (who is my friend/neighbor, as the family revealed) about my mom's car - a car that I am paying for and arranged to be fixed - and I was given a non-urgent message like "the car won't be ready soon as more parts are needed," I might call and leave a message for my mother to update her. But am I going to pack up my kids and leave the beach if I can't reach her the first time I call? No. Not when she's an active 54 year old woman, with a dog that may need to be walked, with a smoking habit that may occur outside, and who is known to sometimes screen her landline calls when she needs alone time. All of which we know to be facts based on the family's interview in The Vanished.

I agree that it is somewhat odd that the family didn't go over later that evening when she didn't respond to multiple calls. I'm guessing there is a family dynamic hinted at that we the public are not aware of. But rushing off to check on her the first time she doesn't answer? Nope. The "she's a helpless grandmother" narrative has been pushed hard but this was a 54 year old woman.

Alone time - yes. I can understand that.

Her daughter had a sense all that evening after returning from the beach that something was off - uneasy feeling.

Enough to mention it to her husband who brushed it off as perhaps visiting with a neighbor (guess he didn’t know Sandra very well or remember she was a homebody grandmother who didn’t socialize except with an extremely close circle of people)

I would be very concerned if I could not reach someone that was scheduled to babysit my three children.

Did she have an answering machine or a way for people to leave a message?

I wondered about the same thing myself MimosaMornings. Did SC have an answering machine or voice mail ? When SC called her cousin T at 5:30 that evening, did T answer the phone or did SC leave a message for her cousin T saying that she changed her mind and was staying home ? We might never know the answers to these questions.

On The Vanished episode, did I hear this correctly ? Did the SIL say SC did not have a debit card or bank account ?

Just my opinion. No answer first call, still on the Beach with a few more calls made...head over after the beach...no one there? Then I would call T and sister Linda and then go from there. So calls made...no one saw Sandra...take a ride by again. If not home, call police. Then you know your sitter situation has changed for one. If the dynamic was somewhat unstable I would have my head straight if work and children were priority

The daughter managed the finances with Sandras money from selling the fathers estate

T said she never heard from Sandra so she figured she changed her mind. The narrator said Sandra called T in the podcast and also in the discussion group on Facebook

We know daughter managed SC's finances. I was asking if what I thought heard on The Vanished podcast was correct. That podcast had a wealth of information on a range of topics.

I heard the family say that they opened an account for her and put money in. I believe she did have a bank account because in the early days of the investigation LE said her account was not accessed.

Edit to add: I checked my notes from the podcast and her son in law did say that she didn't have a debit card.

SC placed the call to T at 5:30 pm. It's quite possible that before T's phone actually would have rang; someone entered SC's home via the unlocked door or someone appeared at SC's door so she hung up.
LE would know if the call never went through and they would keep that info. to themselves to eventually establish a time line if they come up with a suspect.

When I think of everything I use my debit card for: gas, groceries etc. etc. that is taken from my bank account. I mean, that's odd and unnecessary that she didn't have one. She must of withdrawn cash at the bank to have on hand for things or wrote checks, if able. Seems another non functioning life skill for some reason as when an account was opened for her I'd think a debit card request would of come along with that per her daughter for her personal use. Though my thoughts are neither here nor there on her missing in general.

I was surprised to learn she didn't have a cell phone for emergency calls such as if her car broke down. Not even a trackphone which is inexpensive. No debit card either. Some people just don't like technology, they stick with the old ways. It's their choice.

Sandra lived with her father in quincy , he handled his own bills. Sandra didn't need a bank account. Sandra did not work either, that's the odd part. Her father must have solely supported her. We have all heard Sandra was a home body that stayed home usually, why would she need a cell phone? She wasn't traveling far. imo Why didn't she work? But does that matter? She lived with her father up until his death, never handled bills and as her daughter stated in the podcast to the mechanic to fix anything else while the car was there because it wasn't likely to go back in. Where did Sandra go? Did the police dogs pick up on forensics when Hanson pd went to her home? why did the daughter find forensics but not the police department with the search dogs! These are the real questions not answered in any podcast. Sad Sandra is still not found.

The post was about lack of a cell phone and debit card. Nothing else. You are correct Boston Times, Sandra didn't work. That does not mean her father supported her; she could have been receiving a monthly income from Social Security Disability; we just don't know. EDITED TO ADD: Her past life in Quincy may or may not have anything to do with her disappearance. We just don't know.
