Bob Ward, on the same, Fox 25's New England's Unsolved, report about Danielle Oliverio, states 'She was found smoldering at the bottom of tree behind a warehouse.'

and his report just happens to have a great view of the road from where Vanessa was murdered on Brooks Station Road.

Not sure what the same reporter has to do with it. But in that case as you noted she was found smoldering which would indicate her whole body being set on fire and don't so fairly proficiently.

Which to me doesn't match VM's case in which case specific parts of her were burned, we don't believe she was found still in fire, and if someone had created a fire that would have smoldered for hours....in this dryness a lot more of the woods would have been caught on fire.

Not to mention she was found in a city over an hour away from Princeton behind a warehouse, not in a small tiny town off a wooded road.

I'm thinking they didn't show his face because he is a minor, perhaps. That would align with the profile of a pyro, who are typically younger.

Here's the link. This Video was made on Aug. 16th. I would think any bruises would have been gone by then since the crime happened on the 7th, however according to this, the police had been onto him for a week. That would have been the around the 8th or 9th which makes sense seeing as his brother called on the 8th.
Can't tell his age, but he does sound fairly young. His feet look rather large too, so I'll say he is tall.

Right, noted often in his report, and prominently, TH, no connection whatsoever made by LE. Seems more of a message to stay strong and hopeful, and that it seems haunting and painful for their families not to know.

I've been dwelling on the choice of burn spots on the body, and they almost seem to align with Christ's crucifixion. The crown of thorns, the nails in feet and hands. Perhaps I am reaching too far on this, but I wouldn't rule out a religious/psychotic fanatic. No offense intended to anyone with this notion.

Why burning though? Jesus was never burned.

Hmm...that is an idea worth considering.

It is odd that he burned the feet, for example.

Thanks for the new idea to consider.

But what does it have to do with VM's case? I'm not following...you've lost me.

You have my deepest apologies ThinkHard. I did not intend to lose you there, but I'm not sure how to help with an answer, respectfully.

I was thinking more about the placement of the wounds. Similar to the depiction of Christ's wounds. (The placement). Also, a 3. The trinity? I'm just getting some religious connection, but could be pure nonsense of course. And, I guess this now means the amateur profile I have developed is that of a pyromaniac altar boy!
Does sound a bit far out there, but who knows.

Maybe she was kicking him with her bare feet and he may have thought she had his DNA?
I think he was trying to destroy that. I know Nancy Grace first said in an interview on ABC with George Stephanopoulos, that she thought VM was burned to conceal her identity, but if he knew her parents lived close by, and she would be missing, it would be easy to figure out who she was. They could have relied on dental records as well.

A woodsy one.

I don't think the burning was to conceal identity. Could be, of course, but it always seemed too weird for that purpose. I mean, DNA from anywhere on her body could identify her.

To me, the burning is some sort of fetish, or remorse, or hatred toward women or the world, pyro fixation.....something. I don't know what, but I don't think it was to hide his or her identity. Total speculation on my part.

It's tricky trying to figure out the burns; we don't have enough info from LE about the crime scene and what they believe happened. It could be he was trying to set her afire and had started at head and feet...

You are right. We have little info.

There is the photo with the tree that looks charred, and there was some speculation about where on the tree trunk the burns where - perhaps she was placed against the tree when burned. That would fit with a cross situation.

Again, this is speculation only, thinking aloud, brainstorming.

That's very possible. The news reported that she was sexually assaulted ,and I wondered why he didn't burn her mid section if he was trying to cover up DNA.
I also wondered if the police may have been looking for a condom on that second search, but he may have burned that too, if she was sexually assaulted.
I guess we just don't know enough about that part yet.

I wonder if perhaps he tied her hands and feet and burned the rope. Perhaps he also set her hair on fire. It's could explain the burns in those places and perhaps materials that would easily burn even without an excellerant.

I 100% agree with you in the burning being an unlikely attmept to conceal identity. I get the same hunch that it says something more about perp himself or his relationship to her, then it does about concealment.

I have read here that a shoe was left behind, but I haven't heard anything about that in the news. Does anyone have a link? I know there was a shoe left behind in the queens murder.
As far as VMs phone, I am not sure if police have it or not, however I wouldn't be surprised if that was burned as well. That would destroy it, the same as throwing it into water, with less evidence left behind.
I agree with you that he left in a hurry. Nothing to base this on but, if he did put out the fire, how did he do that? unless there was sand surrounding the area, not sure how otherwise. I think he just left it burning, and it went out on its own. In the photos, the scene is surrounded by green vegetation, and that may have kept the fire from spreading, combined with fuel starvation. Also in the photos, it doesn't look like someone threw sand, but again, I am sure LE has most of the fire contents at the crime lab.

As a potential reason for an angry fire setting person I have found this in the Landmark and submit it for consideration.

http://www.thelandmark.com/news/2008-04-03/front_page/005.html

I also want to point out a statement that Socks, himself made here:

http://www.necn.com/news/new-englan...estioned-Him-in-Joggers-Murder-390360461.html

quote in response to a question upthread regarding where the perp would clean up...

"He says he decided to visit a local pond and just take the day off after getting in a fight with his mother, and that he has not heard from investigators since they took his DNA."
