I just watched on FB
Bob Ward FOX25 News's live video.
November 3 ·

Within the first minute, Bob says that VM was expected to take the train back to NY.

I cannot imagine a young lady riding on a bus for almost four hours on Fri to visit her mother and again on Sunday to go back to NYC twice a month. Taking the train makes more sense to me. I believe this reporter, Bob Ward.

In the live report, BW shows images from the crime scene and describes the burn pit (his words). The burn area stretches over a larger than I expected.

Good video , thanks

One thing I really disagree on in the Bob Ward video is the idea that the only way she would have been killed by someone she knows is if they had done it in NYC. And saying that it can't be somone who knew her or had some grievance....because they would have done it in NYC.

I'm sorry I know these people are professional but that some seriously holey logic.....if someone from NYC had a grievance then yes they'd likely kill her in NYC and not track her to Princeton.....but if someone from back home had a grievance....getting out of the house for a few hours is a lot easier to cover then taking off to New York City to commit the crime.

I mean to me that's just obvious...I don't get the logic that if the perp was known to her he would have killed her in NYC....this only holds true if he was also from NYC...but it's totally off base if he's living near Princeton.

The other thing that I wanted to bring up that they mention in the video is talking about his "profile".....sociopath (more accurate term then psychopath), who can lie with ease. And who might be the last people you expect because they are very good at faking it.

They also talked about how he could go home and act like everything is normal....and when I asked if I wife or someone would suspect or noticed these things he said yes...stories that just don't add up and stuff.

Which made me realize that in all likely hood many people in this perps life, maybe even a wife have been victims of him gas lighting them....so even when they do doubt or feel suspicious he mind F's them and makes them feel like they are crazy and out of line for even bringing it up.

I think admitting its someone close could be a very hard thing for someone to do in other words.

I think knowing her or not is too black and white. There are many ways he could know her from Princeton area without being a close friend or in a relationship. A predator who got to know her some by her running in the area, or running activities or tutoring type activities she did in MA , (Boston), knowing her through family connections, etc. There are various ways of knowing her. It is not just in a relationship/friendship or not and simply that.

True. Denial runs deep also. More than likely there were many things previously denied with his behavior before this.

I do agree with Bob Ward, that much about this points to someone in the area. Which also explains why LE would spend time doing DNA dragnet there.

I completely agree. I think there are many ways to have known her....but in the video they make it sound like if it was someone who knew her they would have hands down killed her in NYC without exception. And that because she was killed in Princeton it had to be a local stranger.

That is just not logic that makes any sense to me given how many ways someone can know someone. It being local doesn't make it any less likely she would have known them.

Actually in my mind it makes it much more likely she knew him.....a crime in NYC is much more likely to be random crime of opportunity, then a crime in a small town

I do and have always from day one believed the perp was local...and I'd be willing to bet that in some capacity both parties were known to each other.

Agreed. It's likely a pattern...which makes it that much harder to admit to in the mind.

Thinking about the dark sun tip....it came out in November 16/17.....right before thanksgiving .... After the announcement there was another DNA dragnet ....

So did they you the SUV tip as another excuse for a dragnet...and maybe tried to get DNA of sons that might have been away at college in the fall but home at the time of the murder?

Just a thought

Good Morning everyone,

As I have said from the get go I too also believe that this is a local and he could be someone of prominance or from a prominant local family.
I am also thinking that LE might just have his number but the evidance is just not there and LE's hands are tied because of that.
OR he could just be a regular guy but a local just the same.
I also feel that if family members or friends have any suspicions it is of a very small number, maybe one and they are not sure of blowing the horn on him.
I really want to say he is somewhat of a loner but like us all I could be wrong.

Makes good sense ThinkHard. There is just something about that report of the SUV months later that does not sit right with me.

Even with those who may know him and be in denial. LE asked for calls in about anyone who may have had 'access' to a dark SUV that day. So, there is still responsibility to report that part.

It must be beyond frustrating for that community for people who think he may be in the area, yet, they cannot get him yet.

Maybe he refused voluntary DNA or if prominent , he already talked about having a lawyer in general? Many prominent people do.

We don't know if HE is making it more difficult.? So little is known.

Yes exactly and they just can not grab him on enough. There has to be more to this than what we the public know.
But for the life of me I just can not figure how the SUV comes in so much later on.

I agree with you.

This is fascinating analysis, ThinkHard. I have no idea if he has been released early, and I haven't been able to find out from looking on-line. I did find one article that seems to indicate that he was still in prison as of early 2014.

http://saratogacountyda.com/da-jim-...indsey-ferguson-saratoga-springs-cooperating/

[FONT=&amp]"Regan was convicted and is serving 12 years for attempted second-degree kidnapping at the Clinton Correctional Facility, a maximum security prison. In addition, he is serving a concurrent Connecticut prison sentence of 15 years for kidnapping Palomba and for stalking and restraining another woman."

This post is in response to ThinkHard's analysis of John Regan earlier in thread.

I don't believe the person has any 'known' criminal activity from earlier on with where this case stands right now. He could have plenty of it, but achieved getting away with it until now.
