I really do not believe there was confusion btw the store and the mountain barn.

That really doesn't add up to me at all. While I know people HERE in this thread have mixed them up...locals and especially the police certainly would not have!

Additionally she was supposedly at the store around 12. The ping was at 2:25 from the Mnt Barn.

She also supposedly went to the store before setting out on her run.

To me this says she went somewhere and said it was the store sometime around noon....then came home....then set out again....then the ping came.

So I really really don't see how they would have confused those two things....I think her family would know the difference btw her taking the car on an errand before her run and the ping that came on her run....and I think locals and local LE know the difference btw the market and the Mnt barn.
My thought is an ex and her got coffee that maybe her parents don't approve of or she just went to a store then got coffee or something like a text from a friendchanged her plans. Cause the only reason to lie is if it's a secret or someone you aren't supposed to be seeing or meeting with. If it was done known friend why not mention it though? Maybe someone she mentored contacted her needing help and she went and they are who killed her and if it's someone who lives right by the spot they carried her there then made up some SUV thing to detour cops or people saw her in one with a male or maybe they saw a SUV go by where her phone last pinged and around the same time? I don't think anything but the burning happened there and he just set it for everyone to think it did

I don't think they would have released SUV info 3 months later based on one person reporting it.

But if no cameras saw her at the market where did she go get coffee? It's the only place to get a cup of coffee in town. Unless you want to sit down and eat then you could go to the Mnt Barn.

What if the suv thing was her telling a friend one was following her or she kept seeing it? Iknow not only would I tell a friend but also change privacy settings. Or maybe a neighbor or parent saw one going oddly slow when She left. The way he seemed comfortable makes me think neighbor even more. Cause if he wanted to burn the forest to hide stuff then I believe he could easily have. Is it possible fire pit means gully? It's a pit in a way. I think we should think of where she was taken outside of what he seemed set it up to appear. Causw the chances he had the cars that travel the road and her not notice him just doesn't add up to me. Maybe a home with a view of her jogging path who's slowly obsessed more and more and is comfortable in that area.

The fire pit is not actually a pit. It's just cleared kind of dirt ground. Not a hole. This is definetly not the gully not even close. The gully is along each side of the path particularly closer to the road, and along the guard rail. The fire was behind where the log has fallen and after where it curves, roughly the 100-130 ft in.

Do we know if any house close by had house guests and access to the homes cars? Or any workers there that day? To me it just seems he Ian too familiar and comfortable and at least knows the land owners enough he'd know it's theirs and that they probably don't go on it much but if it's my land and I smell a fire I would want to investigate. Is it the land owners who said they smelled it? It could be one neighbor trying to make Le think it's the other. I live in a small town and I believe cops would stop because it's on a stretch of road that's longer and if they have nothing to do then maybe it's would stick out to them. Could even be a cop who saw it and didn't pull over though ans now is catching heat for it. I myself can't see a bike being involved but what outdoor activities would there be near the spot that someone could take stuff needed to make the fire and not be noticed? And wouldn't the person have come home smelling like smoke? And burning body and burning rubber and whatever else her clothes were made of. I believe he burned it all. Less evidence for later and less chance he's pulled over with it in his vehicle. But I believe he's experienced which leads me to wonder what other murders has he committed?

Well where in the area would not have cameras or traffic cameras to catch her? And I think he would be wearing glasses cause of the day so any cameras could pick him up but not see a license plate and maybe he wore a beanie so no details really. He Must have wore gloves. And the way they make it sound he must have dropped the one shoe while burning it cause something interrupted him maybe something like his break was up. One thing should be noticeable and that's coming around anyone smelling of burning body and smoke. And I don't think he could run up the gully or whatever fast to get the jump if it's as deep as everyone says. He'd need to be way strong and fast to and even then to me it isn't doable in the needed time. But could he grab her down the road and then take her through the woods to the spot easily? Even maybe going over people's property

So if it was fallen then it blocks the body?

this is a really small town...3k total, 6 full time cops, 2 cruisers and the chief of polices SUV. No stop lights, no gas stations, no grocery store. There are 2 restaurants, a banquet facility that use to be a restaurant,a market,a pizza place, a wool store, an antique store, some xmas tree farms, a bank, and a ski Mnts which is technically in Westminster. There aren't a lot of cameras in other words.

Most people even in big houses don't have cameras either, or gardeners or maids or any of that stuff. They might have people who clean their homes as in a cleaning service, not as in a live in made. People hire yard companies to work on their lawns but don't employ full time gardeners. It's got money but it's quiet and humble money for the most part.

Btw not sure why you think he was wearing gloves but I doubt he was.

Yes it would have hidden then body. As did the extensive foliage.

If VM told her family she was going to the market, but wasn't seen on any cameras there, that is very interesting. If this is true, where did she actually go ? To meet someone ? And who would she be meeting that she would not want to tell her family ?

I think people are just expressing what they feel is most likely in their eyes. I think with so little info it's obvious we are all basing theories on speculation and none of us KNOW what happened. Meaning it goes without saying that all our theories are opinion not fact.

If someone feels it's strongly about one theory over another, I don't think you should take that to me you aren't allowed to have your own opinion.

What's wrong with each person feeling strongly about a theory that conflicts with someone else's? We don't have to agree on what we think happened.

Just because someone has a strong opinion that doesn't mean there isn't room for other opinions.

To me that's kind of tone policing people and telling them to not have such strong opinions.

I think the better solution is to be secure enough in your own thoughts and ideas that those of others aren't intimidating or threatening.

I don't find anything intimidating or threatening. Just pointing out there is no way to be certain or to fully discount others with very little info. known. Simple.

I don't know where the info is . ..if she told her family that. I think someone asked for a link , but it wasn't provided.

What info. makes you doubt he was wearing gloves?

Because I don't think it was plannned and I don't think he would have had them on him.

  • #656
It is hard to know...The fire may have not been part of the plan at all, until suddenly she had fought so much and he ended up with unexpected wounds with so much DNA left behind. Then proceeded to try to get rid of it with a fire. Could go either way.

However, if it still seems that if he was going to go through the effort of the fire and the risk involved with that, when he is not in the system, he may be nearby and have thought the connection would still be made.

Ok, I am just curious what info. or facts makes you think it wasn't planned?

  • #659
i think if he was planning to kill her, he would have taken her elsewhere.

If he was planning to kill her he fantasized about it for a long time, he would want to spend time with her, and he would know that spot made him vulnerable.

And I think if he was planning to kill her he would have research enough to know fire does not hide DNA.

It's been posted several times in the past. <modsnip>

Anyway here it is....http://www.telegram.com/news/20160808/unimaginable-act-sets-princeton-on-edge

ThinkHard, thanks for the link to that article. So it was the clerk at the market who didn't recall seeing her. No mention of her not being on video, although I read elsewhere that there are cameras in the market.. LE believed VM had gone to the market. Either her family told them that, because VM told her family that, or someone actually saw her headed towards the market, but she didn't go in. Either way, it's interesting. jmo
