Gerry McCann to make another statement in 15min - 15:30GMT
Cops, who had a detailed description two days after the kidnap in the Algarve resort of Praia da Luz, finally confirmed the information yesterday.
A woman saw the suspect at 9.30pm. She said she knew the bundle being carried was a sleeping child because tiny feet were sticking out from a blanket.

People wanted to beat me to a pulp just because I couldn't forgive the parents for leaving the children alone and now they're be called possible suspects?
The term "pedophile ring" is used from time to time, and it always seems a bit nebulous....But while there are many pedophiles, there are relatively few kidnap/murders, considering the huge number of children in the world. So most pedophiles molest and move on to their next victim. I would imagine that this is the first missing child from that particular resort.
Bear with me, please, I do have a point!
Does anyone reading this remember the David Westerfield case in San Diego? Although Danielle seemed to be his first murder victim, she was not his first victim. Westerfield's niece described having been molested by "Uncle David" when she was sleeping at a family party.
What if there are two or more pedophiles working at the resort? They would be in an excellent position to know which children are routinely left alone--I think that the "it's so safe you can leave the kids alone" belief of the parents might have been a common one at that resort.
Maybe there have been nighttime molestations of other children left alone there.
Maybe Madeleine fought back, maybe she wasn't soundly asleep, maybe she died. And if such a thing as a ring of pedos were working at the resort, or lived near there, then removing a little girl and hiding her permanently would have been easy.
Unless scrutiny of the parents is happening behind the scenes; however, I think the media would be reporting this.

I would guess there's probably scrutiny. However, if LE is wrong and there really was a kidnapping, they will look awful. So if LE isn't sure yet about the parents, they wouldn't give anything about that to the media, IMHO.
Well anything is possible but I prefer to elimated the likley before going on to the unlikley. In this case the first likely and unfortunite sceniro is that the parents are involved with Maddie's dissapearance. I am not saying they are involved only in my opiion this is the first line of thinking that needs to be explored. It has not been explored at all. I have read every account in the media I could and not one sentance about clearing the parents as suspects. Unless portugal does not recognize the sickening reality of parental involvment in missing children I am clueless as to why these parents have been given an absolute assumption of innocent. Unless scrutiny of the parents is happening behind the scenes; however, I think the media would be reporting this.

Morag - I don't know about a ring of pedos...
My point is simply that it wouldn't require a ring. It could just be one sicko.
not me Jeana. I respect your opinion and your actions in regard to this case.People wanted to beat me to a pulp just because I couldn't forgive the parents for leaving the children alone and now they're be called possible suspects?
I understand lawyers have a lot of influence and contacts in high places. But one would only call a lawyer if they forsaw trouble which is my thinking here. Lawyers were called before searching parties etc, why.
Our lawyer friend on earlier posts said that people go to lawyers for other advice not of a legal matter, wouldnt you go to the police, investigators, doctor if you are distraught over the loss of your child, a lawyer wouldnt even come into my thinking if one of my children went missing. Most people who lawyer up do so for a reason. Again, the Ramsey's did the same thing. If they have nothing to hide, why hire lawyers?
I'm still on the fence however where the parents are concerned. I definately think they're guilty of neglect for leaving their children alone for hours at night. But after rewatching the news interview, they seem sincerely distraught.
I tthink some people just have a lawyer up type of thinking... it is probably because in their profession they have to protect themselves from legal action and it just becomes second nature. I do not think lawyering up is that strange really given the circumstances. I think employing PR is really strange. If that has been done..although maybe if it was done it was to get more publicity for maddy's plight. Our lawyer friend on earlier posts said that people go to lawyers for other advice not of a legal matter, wouldnt you go to the police, investigators, doctor if you are distraught over the loss of your child, a lawyer wouldnt even come into my thinking if one of my children went missing.
I have no doubt that the PR Firm was hired to protect their reputation or repair it as the case may be since it came to light about them being irresponsible parents. With the chance they will face charges of neglect, putting a spin on things will help their case. Also, the lawyering up might be very well because they could face charges later and run the risk of losing the other two babies. Whatever they say in the media could be used against them later so it isn't out of the question that they are being 'groomed' for appearances and interviews.
