MoonGoddess,

My thought was that the sheet/towel was used to wrap her (hide her) to get her away from the resort. If the perp took her to this area right away and immediately murdered her, they might just leave the blanket and quickly bury her. I think someone this twisted would not "care" about wrapping her before burial.

Boy that was hard to write....

I know its hard to take your mind to those places.......I think if this item is linked to Maddie, the person who left this peice of evidence must have been in a panicked state of mind, why leave it exposed? you could put it in some sort of bag and dump it in a bin or anything, definately a sign of panic IMHO

Re your last post re pictures, here's some others from the 'family album' that were taken a little over two weeks after the alleged abduction. I will refrain from making further comment.

They did do it everynight that week, once they were called back because of a complaint that one of the children was crying, they still went out as usual the following night. This group of adults left their kids unattended and went out to dinner five consecutive nights previous.:(

This just REVOLTS me. I have a two year old. I would NEVER leave him unattended, not even for FIVE minutes, in a hotel room. Especially if the reason was so I could go have an adult dinner. I TAKE my child to dinner.

And these wealthy doctors couldn't afford a freaking babysitter?

They didn't deserve to have their child go missing. But you know, at first I figured that the little girl woke up, wandered down the hall looking for her parents, went outside and managed to get hit by a car. The panicked driver hid the body.

Its still a possibility I expect.

That is a possibility. But the McCanns had been in Portugal for either 1 or 2 weeks and, from what I've read in the press, pretty much used the same routine every day. The children were in the resort-provided childcare facility much of the day, would eat together in the evening and go to bed. I think the parents usually left them alone. So it wouldn't have been difficult for someone to await their chance to find Madeleine unattended and grab her.

So basically these people took their children on vacation to dump them in daycare and leave them alone in hotel rooms. They might as well have hired a nanny and left them home.

but didn't that witness/friend of the McCann's say they saw her wearing her pink PJ's with the Eyore on them in the kidnapper's arms? That would be hard to see in my opinion and espeically so wrapped up in a big sheet or towel...

I agree Jdee, and also the 'witness' originally saw this man from behind? lots that this person said just doesn't add up and it would be interesting to know why she was running so late - 9.30 - to meet the McCanns for dinner?........there's so much that doesnt add up-its driving me nuts.

I fear it unlikely that Maddie will be found alive, if this is the case, I hope that she is found soon so that she can be laid to rest in peace.

Wow,

I too was really struck by that photo when I first saw it. So much so that I wrote to the BBC via their website to ask what date it was taken. I could not believe that it was taken after Maddie was abducted. I never received a response.
My prayers for Maddie.....

I understand her needing to smile for the twins. I've been in a terrible state and still managed to smile for my little boy.

And I couldn't cut your prayers.

I hate putting out mis information so for the record... I got that 'towel' pic from that sky boards link someone else posted. The person that posted it said..."Some are saying that the picture is the mystery towel in question...but to base you own opionins on that...."

I agree. That pic could be from anywhere even though it does appear like it was taken in the area...

It looks like it's a scan from a pic from the 70's. I haven't seen a European woman dress like that since then. Also it's too pixellated. I strongly disbelieve this is a recent picture, let alone a picture that has anything to do with Madeleine. The site it is on is a useraccount website about geneology (sp).

you know I just looked at it again and I thought it was a man with a moustache but then I saw the shoes! To me the pic looks scanned from a newspaper....

Yes and pictures in newspapers these days are not that pixellated. This looks old in many ways. And believe me, if this was a picture that was taken of a find by the Telegraaf journalists, it would be plastered all over the paper's site. It isn't. (www.telegraaf.nl) Plus if this towel was found today there is no way it would already be in print in a newspaper, ready to be scanned. I'm willing to bet good money that this picture is a hoax.

I agree Janet. It 'looks' the part but on closer examination it just does not work...

Wow, popped in to see if there was any news of Madelaine, seems there has been more evidence that has caused quite a stir on this site. Have to go back and find the picture you are talking about.
Was hoping for better news.

I will tell you that the behavior of the McCanns that CAUSED the dissapearance of their child should be criticized.
Ditto.

Thanks colomom these have been posted in the last thread but there have been people who have logged on here and wouldnt have seen them.
I have been trying to find the picture that shows a guy with a moustache and a towel that earlier posters are talking about, so far not successful, will keep looking.

This link says that the seach has been called off with no plans to go back.
7 police officers is all that searched - could they really have done that good of a search with 7 officers?? No wonder the paper sent it own team and sniffer dogs!!!! Unbelievable!!!!!!!!!!!

Here's a pic of that 'mystery towel'. Doesn't look much like a towel to me..

Shazza, this is what Jdee posted earlier in this thread re. the towel.

Thanks Colomom and JanetElaine, it doesnt look like a towel to me either, it looks like a piece of canvas as it looks quite stiff, and I dont think it is a man, I think the person in the picture is a woman. What do you guys think.
