I remember staying up all night and crying and then going to church the next morning and saying how sad I was about Diana and people just looked at me like I was crazy....that was when I left that church. Everyone was acting like she deserved to die b/c of being out late at night in Paris with a man or something, or b/c of her divorce or James Hewitt or whatever else happened with her that they found unsavory. God, I hate judgmental, holier-than-thou people!!!!!!!

I remember my husband came into the bedroom, I was half asleep and he said "Diana died" and I thought he was talking about his sister Diana.

That was a brutal awakening and then I was so sad. I really felt like the world lost a good soul not to mention how sad I was for those young boys. It does my heart good to see what good men they have become.

At least we knew that she had moved on to a better place, if only we knew about Maddie

We on the west coast knew before most of the world because it was late afternoon when her car crashed, and I spent hours watching BBC news when the British weren't even aware of what happened yet. So, so tragic. Oh well, that was a long time ago.

It is gratifying to see how well they have turned out. Diana would be so proud of them.

Too darn right. Even though my dd's have moved away from home, I still feel responsible for them, once a mum always a mum, I would do whatever it takes to keep my dd's safe.
Some parents just dont get it. The McCanns children imo are only accessories to them, to make them look like the perfect family, that may sound brutal but its what I really think.

Without the required 2.5 kiddies in tow, they would not look complete. So they went through great lengths (IVF) to have their babies. Unfortunately for them, being a family is time-consuming. Children aren't toys to put up on shelves when you're tired of them. Now Madeleine is reaping the "rewards" for their lack of responsibility.

I just have so much respect for Diana. It broke my heart when she died. She did so much good for people and she taught her boys to be the same way. I'm so glad that there is so much of their mother in them and that they aren't like those stiff grandparents and dad...yuk. The boys seem so normal after being raised with that bunch of prigs. Diana left a lot of herself with the boys.

Didn't I read tht the mother was planning to cut her work days back to like one day a week so that she was with the kids most of the time? I can't think of any reason that they would want to harm their daughter. Kids disappear all of the time inside their homes with the parents sleeping in the same house or ever in the bedroom right next to theirs. I think that the only crime these parents committed was leaving the children alone while they left to have dinner. It's really sad that they didn't hire a babysitter or bring a nanny with them but they didn't and it is something that they will have to live with for the rest of their lives. We really don't know enough about these parents and the way they lived their lives or raised their children to be able to judge them as harshly as some are judging them. That is really sad.

They deserve the judgement they are getting as leaving their children alone is not the only thing that they have done that warrants them being terrible parents, they have admitted themselves that they have left their children alone before, the mother has also stated that she cannot handle her children by herself, having photo shoots after their daughter went missing, gallivanting around the countryside on money that is donated for the search of madelaine, and if you read back you will see that there are many other reasons why the McCanns are the parents from hell.
The mother wasnt cutting back her hours to spend more time with the children, she couldnt handle them by herself, she was thinking of being an advocate for other missing children, the only way she could be successful with that is if she stuck a sign on herself and said, "this is not what a good mother looks like".

I have to agree with Shazza on this one. Have you seen the blog of Aussie Mike (our nickname for him)? This is the link: http://ionglobaltrends.blogspot.com/

He has expressed the feelings and concerns of many people. He is fast becoming very popular. It appears that the media in the UK has treated this case with some unusual "kid gloves". Many people wonder why.

I think much of the harsh judgement (tough questions) that have been expressed is due to the inconsistencies in what the McCanns say and what they do. Also the lack of communication and emotion really bothers some. You mention that Kate McCann was going to cut back her work schedule so she could spend more time with the twins. I read on Gerry's (posted 6/24) that "We picked the twins up early from the kids club and had a really nice afternoon with them," and this statement does not jibe with Kate's promise to be a more attentive mom.

I read it like this, they are not working in their medical profession at all right now. They are still in Portugal, all expenses paid. And yet they continue to leave the twins in the "kids club" (nice way of saying day care) all day. How do I know all day? He said picked the kids up early and spent the afternoon with them. Therefore, a typical day would mean that they would normally be in day care until evening. I would bet buckets of money that they are dropped off in the morning.

I know that I would spend every minute with them that I could. We would be going to the pool or the beach or the zoo that they visited awhile back. I would spend lazy days at home playing together. They would be sick of me hugging and kissing them all the time I would not feel comfortable with them being in the care of the same resort that promised a safe place for kids and yet their sister was snatched.

This is just one example of the information that just doesn't "sit right" with many people. This forum has been very hard on the McCanns: http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=575814 they make us look like McCann supporters. And they are in their home country. I will work on a list of inconsistencies and post it in the future.

Suffice it to say that something is very, very wrong and I have a theory that I hesitate to share because it does not include a stranger abduction.

I hope that you will read our questions and Aussie Mike's observations and then tell us if you still feel that the McCanns should not be "judged". I think they are being questioned, not judged. The lack of answers contributes to their being suspect.

Have you recognised me yet colomom on digi spy and Aussie Mike?....lol I make no apologies for sticking my two penneth worth in wherever I can, I refuse to be :silenced:

Interestingly, I went for my first ever Acupuncture treatment today, and the therapist, a very well to do and eloquent lady, confided that she "s "picking up that something is just not right" in all this, she said she had to stop reading and watching the tv regarding it because it disturbs her, but 'feels' there is a higher meaning to all of this, especially the way it has bought out such strong feelings, one way of the other, in people....I'm sure there are lessons for all of us.

If anybody feels compelled, please leave a comment with Aussie Mike, hopefully if word is spread, it might help to wake up the comatised media back here.

Another thing that bothers me is that the McCanns don't seem to be doing anything to actually look for Madeleine.

For instance, there have been all these sightings in Malta. They may turn out to be cases of mistaken identity, but maybe not. But have the McCanns actually gone to Malta or sent investigators there to look for her? Heck, with all the money they're getting in that fund of theirs they could hire a fleet of people to blanket the island with flyers of Madeleine.

Every time there is a possible lead, Gerry McCann gets insulted and immediately begins to attack the person it came from, even before anyone knows whether it's credible or not. He blogs in his website about going hiking and other stuff that has nothing to do with locating his daughter.

They aren't being completely honest about what happened to Madeleine and refuse to take accountability for what they did that put her in danger in the first place.

Do I empathize with them? Yes, although they try my patience and understanding.

Do I think they're victims? Of their own stupidity, yes.

Do I liken Madeleine's disappearance to that of a family who took normal precautions and had a child abducted (i.e. Jessica Lunsford) anyway? No, but both involve innocent little girls who don't deserve their fates and evil people who are the real perpetrators here.

I pray every day that Madeleine will come home safe and sound. But it sounds as if her parents haven't learned anything from her disappearance.
