The woman from Portugal may be involved in "illegal adoptions in Europe"? And Portugal LE says there is absolutely no connection? I don't think I would give up that easily...... If she is already doing things that might fit a scenario of what happened to Maddie, I don't think I would have decided already that there is "no connection."

What is PLE up to? First they won't search, then they get beat up by the press, so they make an appearance of a search, then they get a lead that might at a minimum bring them into contact with an "illegal adoption" ring, and they decide there is absolutely no connection.

I'm not sure who is telling the truth about the non-interview of the Antonio guy who says it was the frenchman that abducted Maddie, but PLE did not interview the Norweign woman. Don't think they have to this day.....

Either PLE knows something or they are protecting someone/group......

And, has anyone heard anything about that towel?

I too think there is a cover up, but for whom Im not sure about that one, is it the LE, the McCanns, the pedo ring, the witnesses, somebody knows something but nobody is talking. There is a little girl out there somewhere and they are no closer to finding her than they were when she first went missing. I wish they would get their act together and work as a team to solve this.

I so agree.

It was also shocking to hear that they said that "at worst" as parents, they were "naive." :banghead:

Did they say that? They are physicians. they've never seen an unattended child who got into an accident? They were too naieve to consider that a four year old in an un childproofed room could stick their finger in a socket? Or get out of the room via the open door and get hit by a vehicle?

If they allowed a stranger to babysit their child and the child ended up missing, I might consider the naieve defense but in this case...

Tell me another one.

Yesterday while listening to that live feed on Sky News the news guy was talking about the resort where the McCann's stayed and he said he had been there before and that the distance between the apartment and the restaurant was "just a few yards".. and that they could see the front door of their apartment from the restaurant. It was like it was no big deal...
SO... what is considered a "few"? To me a 100 yards is a long way. AND has anyone heard reported that they had a clear view to the front door of the apartment from that restaurant? I would think there would be trees and walls in between.
Can we say...Media Blackout?

If you look back there were maps posted of the whole resort and the front door of the apartment was not visible from the restaurant and it was a fair way away, so this guy that stated this must be short sighted or blind.

Yeah that's what I thought too Shazza. He was so non chalant about it like it was no big deal. I am telling you that if this happened in the US these parents would be arrested for child neglect at the very least.

That would also happen here in Australia, they would have gone through through the court system by now and been charged. They are trying to play the grieving parents, but they are so transparent, I dont understand why they havent been charged with child endangerment or child abuse or whatever applies. They are trying to tug at the heart strings of the LE and the media to keep themselves out of the chit, but it doesnt stop them from looking like bad parents.

Morning Jdee:

I thought these photos from Paulo's blog were very telling: http://gazetadigitalmadeleinecase.blogspot.com/2007/05/some-pictures-from-praia-da-luz-crime.html

Especially the photo of the bedroom window. Maybe they could see the front door but no way could they see the window if someone was to break in that way. "A few yards"....

!

Praying for Maddie.

And also praying for a quiet, uneventful day for our UK friends!!

Hi Colomom,
Cant wait to see what you come up with today, I enjoy reading your posts. You make so much sense, sometimes I have trouble typing what Im thinking, its this thread that is draining my brain Im sure.
Praying for Madelaine everyday.

If they were going to ditch their kids for a private dinner, the least they could have done is hold out for a second floor apartment!

I dont think that would have made any difference twinkiesmom.

I was thinking about this case while I was trying to get to sleep last night and I really don't think the McCanns killed Madelaine. The reason for this is that they were in a strange country and did not know the surrounding areas -how on earth would they have managed to hide the body (sorry) so well? Madelaine would have been found by now. I would like to see a complete timeline of the day she went missing though to ensure they also did not have the time to hide a body.

This is does not take away from the fact that they left their kids alone in a strange country, nor how terrible it was to do that.

Im not sure but I think I heard the Mccanns had been to Portugal for holidays before, so this wasnt their first time. If that is so then they would know the area.

Morning Colomom! I think even if they could see the front door they weren't lookin. It has still not been proven that Madeleine did not simply walk out of that apartment. "Alleged" is the key word here that the press is leaving out. Assume nothing here and explore every possible scienero.

Hi you guys,

daddys wallet has re-appeared:-

http://www.thisisleicestershire.co....tentPK=17690022&folderPk=77465&pNodeId=132393

The wallet turned up at her parents' Rothley home after it was first posted to their former house in Queniborough, the address for which was inside.

Only comment I'd like to make is "PR Stunt". Latest from the blog:-

Day 56 - 28/06/2007
Busy day- some very good phone calls with important child welfare organsations who we will be working closely with in the future. I have no doubt we will be able to sustain a high profile for Madeleines disappearance in the long term.

There has been a lot of media publicity over arrests in Spain tonight following information related to the investigation to find Madeleine. This appears to be a clear signal from European police forces that they are treating all information relating to Madeleines disappearance very seriously.

Can you imagine any "important child welfare organisations" using these two to promote welfare to children:banghead: ....defies belief it really does.:behindbar and just as well the police are treating all information re Madeleine seriously, cause he doesn't want to be bothered with it according to yesterdays blogs.

colomom: got some very much neglected household chores done which justifies me popping over for a while:blowkiss: now the grass is cut am hoping the neighbours might start saying 'good morning' again....lol

The mother is a keen jogger, and him I believe, I'm sure they might have come across some remote spots during their stay.....surely they must have done a bit of sightseeing whilst the kids were dumped in the kids club?

Ausie Mike has up a good post today. http://ionglobaltrends.blogspot.com/search/label/Madeleine McCann This one sentence I think sums everything up perfectly...

"How the hell is a yellow ribbon tied around a tree, or pretty red balloons, going to bring back the daughter he and his wife lost?"
Exactly, more wasted money and time. Aussie Mike tells it like it is, doesnt hold back, wish there were people like him working on the case, I think we would get some results.
