This is the only article I can find on this subject. I found headlines for another article from Fox News in Tennessee, US but the story does not come up. Where are their other two children, who are they with.

Shazza - I agree, but then the other article headline could be read either way. I'm really surprised that they would both go to the UK and leave the twins alone in Portugal.

Reading your other post it does sound like the twins, it wouldnt surprise me if they left their children in Portugal, but I dont think they are that stupid are they? They would be flamed by everyone for leaving their children in a country where there other child was kidnapped. l sure hope the twins went with their mother.

Why not? Didn't they leave them in Portugal before, when they went to Rome to see the Pope, and to Spain? :doh: :banghead: And that was a lot sooner after Madeleine was taken.
I believe family members came over from the UK when the McCanns went to the Netherlands, Spain and to see the Pope and watched Sean and Amelie. I also think family has been visiting them recently, so I'd imagine family is babysitting again.
I know englishleigh and I was amazed by that, however I can rationalize it by saying it was the first few weeks of Madeleine's being gone. Now however, almost 3 months later and KM is going "home." I would just think she would have taken the children with her if she could have. However, these parents don't do much of anything the way I would do it, so I guess I shouldn't be surprised by it.
So my question now is --- why? Why did she go back to the UK? Does she just want to be in the spotlight again? Did Gerry say he needed her there so that they continue to show a "united" front? Is something happening and they need to be in the UK before things go down....for what? protection? their lawyers? what? It can't be because LE figured out who the perp is and they are going to bust him in the UK!
And isn't it odder still that they both are in the UK when P-LE is leaking information that arrests are imminent?:doh:
One of the things that has always struck me as odd is the number of times GM said "we don't blame each other, we are in this together" or words to that effect. How many parents of missing children, say on TV, in an interview "we don't blame each other"?

I wonder if the McCanns went back to the UK because of what the LE found out with their latest investigations, that they were somehow involved. So going back to UK the Portugese LE would have to extradite them. Shazza - I think that is entirely possible, but I'm wondering about the twins. If they are still in Portugal, would the McCanns fight extradition? I mean it seems pointless to me, unless it is just a delaying tactic. The McCanns know it is coming so they have gone back to get their affairs (and the fund) in order? (this is a question, not a statement)

To my knowledge, this was the first big news article in the UK to question the McCanns and what happened to Madeleine. You got that right Salem, it is so frustrating, knowing if the children went back to the UK or not is driving me nuts, as if I couldnt take my kids I wouldnt go either, but this case as been anything but normal. Lets hope we hear more about this soon.

Sorry for not getting back sooner - busy weekend with my daughter, loads of fund stuff to do. Today is rainy and coolish so we're having a 'lazy day' at home.
Went back through the time capsule of news and can only find Nanny reference as everyone else is noting. It was Gerry's mother who noted there was a nanny in the McCann home whom the McCann's trusted. I take this to mean that she was not referring to a grandparent or other family member.

Thanks Calikid! I deleted some stuff just for the sake of space, but see my bolding. Isn't the statement about Jane's trip to check on the kids contridictory to what we were previously told - she was LATE for dinner? Had nothing to do with checking on the kids. If she WAS checking on the kids - don't you think she would have gone into the bedroom where Maddie was sleeping after just seeing some man walk off with a child that looked like Maddie? Even if you didn't think much about it, (however she must have thought something, because apparently she looked at him closely) wouldn't you just, almost subconsiously, open the bedroom door to look at all the children? Or is that just my paranoid mind
And what was Russell wearing? Were Russell and Jane gone from the dinner at the same time? Was he also late to dinner or did he just disappear for a period of time? Was he "checking" on the kids?
And then, in my mind, the SOL reports are more trustworthy than the British media at this point. SOL apparently actually talks to people, such as the Jeremy Wilkins guy, where the British media just talk about the "campaign."

Kate, the twins and myself attended a family baptism today in Yorkshire where we stood as Godparents. At the end of the short service, which was lovely, prayers were said for Madeleine. It is the first time Kate has been to the UK since Madeleine disappeared but we wanted to support our family the same way they have supported us over the last ten weeks and it was great to see so many family members together. We have also taken a huge amount of strength from our faith and of course the messages of support and prayers for Madeleine from people of all faiths around the world.
Uh, huh. Well, I haven't been here long but I'm sure what I am presently thinking would come as no surprise to anyone here.

Kate, the twins and myself attended a family baptism today in Yorkshire where we stood as Godparents. At the end of the short service, which was lovely, prayers were said for Madeleine. It is the first time Kate has been to the UK since Madeleine disappeared but we wanted to support our family the same way they have supported us over the last ten weeks and it was great to see so many family members together. We have also taken a huge amount of strength from our faith and of course the messages of support and prayers for Madeleine from people of all faiths around the world.
