With ya, Gem. If I found my child gone and the window open, my prints would be all over that window, in a panic, trying to find her, to see if she could have gone out, or even opened it. That is not evidence. So she left fingerprints on the window.
And the Smith siting has been discredited by the Portuguese AND English, because Gerry was with the GNR and PJ and about 100 witnesses at the Ocean Club at that exact time.
But at any time before on the holiday. The apartment was cleaned the day before but no mention of cleaning the windows.

In my experience of staying in many similar resorts all over the world and having once worked in a hotel. Windows are cleaned between guests not on a daily basis. Her fingerprints could have been left there the first day.
With regards to the Smith sighting. Taking into account walking distance to and from where Martin Smith thought he might have seen him, and the sightings from staff which placed him at the hotel before and after the Smith sighting he would have had I think it was roughly 10 mins to dispose of Madeleine's body in the town somewhere so that it wasn't found. I just don't think that is possible.
I will search for the post I did before, which includes links to statements about who was where at what times tomorrow. Too tired right now
ETA: In regards to the fingerprints. I wonder if Amarals book mentions that there was a fingerprint belonging to an unidentified person on the window or that there were some fingerprints that were inconclusive. I would bet that it doesn't.
