Now, in a move that must be making some folks very nervous, the PJ has also announced they are reopening their own, fresh, independent investigation.


Carrie-Marie Bratley, who works for the Portugal News in Lagoa, in the Algarve, told Sky News the Portuguese detectives "were chosen for their emotional and physical distance from this case in the hope that maybe they could go over it with a fine-tooth comb and come up with something, which it seems they may have done."

The team is separate to the group of six Portuguese officers based in Faro who have been assisting the Metropolitan Police.

It is time people face the fact that The McCanns had nothing to do with Madeleine's disappearance. She was taken and by someone that did not have the last name of Mccann.

The fact that Portugal is reopening the investigation, Proves that they did not get it right. It is time to look at it by the facts.

I won't exclude them until we find out definitely what happened to Madeleine, but I lean towards abduction-just barely.

I'm new to this forum and before reading here I was certain the parents weren't involved and now after reading all of the theories and information that hasn't received media attention I'm not sure what to think. I am leaning more to the idea that the parents drugged the children to keep them sleeping whilst they dined but Maddie overdosed and they tried to cover it up. They would of had access to the drugs and would of had a knowledge of dosage amounts, foolproof in their eyes until it went horribly wrong, I can't understand why Kate was suspicious about the twins not waking throughout the commotion of discovering Maddie's disappearance and had to check they were still breathing yet they weren't taken to hospital to get checked over, even amidst the panic and upset of trying to find Maddie, I'd want to make sure my other children were safe. I'd like to think that she was abducted and that one day she'll be discovered if the parents are innocent. It will be very interesting to see what the new investigation uncovers but whatever happens I can't bear to think about the pain and suffering Maddie must have gone through if she is found alive.

As far as I know, there isn't any evidence that the parents sedated the children other than the fact that they are both doctors, vacationing with more doctors. Interesting theory because of the ruckus the previous night, but, no evidence that has been made public

I don't believe the McCanns had anything to do with this crime. There is nothing whatsoever that says they did except conjecture and a lot of made up scenarios.

A report from state broadcaster RTP has this evening stated that Kate and Gerry McCann have been excluded as having had any involvement in the disappearance of their daughter.

'Everyone is getting excited even me that we might find out what happened to Maddy. If the parents are innocent of harming her thats fine by me.....I still will however never forgive them for their terrible parenting but that is how i feel. I have always been on the fence....

BUT they are looking at stuff that MIGHT be of interest it could all turn into NOTHING.

The worrying thing for the McCanns really is the PJ say the investigation by the SY is not nothing to do with their investigation, so are we to assume the SY have not RULED the McCanns out.............:fence:

I was one of those who suspected the boyfriend. The stats show that a high percentage of murders are committed by someone close to the victim.

Actually me too, we live not a long way from there, and i even went to the crime scene actually have been past that area on the way to work when i was going to meetings in Clifton. I realised quickly that the boyfriend really could not have done it he was where he said he was etc.

What worried me more was that no one saw this poor girl laying on the ground....jeez....... I think this was a sticking point to the investigation to be honest as it made no sense. She could have easily been seen its beyond me no one saw her really..I was shocked.

I did think though it could be Murat but there was so much rubbish from the Media accusing some old guy and stuff the real evidence got missed out.

I often thought she bumped into him on the way home with her pizza etc and as they were both on their own they decided to share. i think this was totally unpremeditated...poor thing it was a terrible case.

What they need to do is have a few detectives go over each Tapas member rogatories or whatever they're called with a fine-toothed comb. Then compare each individual's story to each other's, see where the holes and inconsistencies are....those are the things they're lying about. Then go about trying to find the truth of the times they are lying about. Within that puzzle is where they'll solve the case, IMO. Something which could have been done a long time ago if they weren't dilly-dallying and trying to search the world for the "abductor."

Uhhh....okay. First of all, she mentions that she realizes now that people think it's odd, why didn't you tell Kate right away? So basically she is just saying it now when she realizes they made a mistake in their whole 'abduction" plan.

Secondly....oh really, so everyone is frantically searching for your friend's daughter, and you realize that you might have just seen the daughter being taken away, but you don't say anything about it?? So it's better to just let some man continue taking her and not tell anyone so you won't have to "talk about it."?? So the actual physical part of saying is it WORSE THAN THE ABDUCTION?

That is a big fat lie. She is just saying it now to cover her *.

Ain't no reason in the world for these big whopping lies like that one........if they truly know truly know nothing about what happened to Madeleine.
