And thank God most of us would be deeply saddened and upset at the image of our child crying alone in the night while we were off partying. In fact, I'd go so far as to say, instead of minimizing the crying and saying it must've only lasted a bit of time, we'd be kicking ourselves as we pictured our baby girl crying out for comfort. The thought of our child being alone and scared for even a few minutes would be enough to make us change our behavior radically.

Gerry's "came to" comment is signifcant. I am coming to believe they drugged the children. Madeleine woke up anyway, was impaired in her movements as a result of the drugging and hurt herself while trying to find Mommy and Daddy. The McCanns couldn't take her for help because it would come out that they drugged their children..and/or because she was too gravely injured to explain away.

I literally couldn't keep watching the show last night. What I did see showed crafted (dry-eyed) emotion and words - and still little regard for the horror of what their little girl suffered because of their selfish, stupid actions.

I agree Teacher, "came to" is not something you would usually say about a child or anyone waking up! "Came to" is an expression used after someone is knocked out either by drugs, alcohol or a bang on the head!

Also agree that the grief is totally crafted!

& yes any decent parent would have felt guilty but then a decent parent wouldn't have done what they did in the first place!

It's so easy to blame - blame the buggy, blame the complex, blame the police, blame the kids being tired, blame everyone but the McCanns!
Barnaby the only people you can blame for botching the police investigation is the police working the case, ignoring that fact won't change it.
And where did I blame the buggy, complex, or the kids being tired? :waitasec:

The PJ's handling of the case was the only subject of my post.

I was speaking of the McCann's blaming everything but themselves, sorry if my post too subtle for you!

PJ did well, brought in the dogs who found the blood & cadaver scent!
Hard for them to do their job when no cooperation from arguidos, no answers, no reconstruction! If anyone obstructed the investigation it was not PJ!

O'h not subtle Barnaby I assure you. No worries :)

And no matter how you choose to look at it the Police have botched this investigation from day one.
As I said ignoring that fact won't change it.

Just as ignoring the parents responsibility won't change it either!

Look at Kate's words, ''and then she must have moved on."

Who uses those words for a child falling back to sleep?

Is that a common idiom in the U.K.?

Those are very odd words.

And, as I believe Thoughtfox wisely pointed out, magical thinking is the perfect phrase to describe Kate's thinking. She projects onto Madeleine what she needs and what will make her feel better--just as she said in the earlier days it was the "certainty that they were responsible parents" that kept her going.

In the BBC video clips, I see Gerry's body language as very open although not to Kate. His hand is flat while hers is covering his. She has an arm across her front and her legs are crossed. They do not open to each other or parallel each other.

definitely not a common idiom in UK Texana! Most peculiar words!

I also noticed the body language, he is not open to her for sure with the flat hand while her's covers his. Who is really controlling who?

I ignore nothing about this case Barnaby.
Not her parents, the police, the press, blogs, and forums etc.
Definitely not the kidnapper who is getting a free pass. IMO

And particularly not Madeleine who I still pray will be found and returned to her family.

I feel you anger Barnaby but i'm sorry I really don't agree with you.
I believe the McCanns have been very honest about what they did. How anyone can actually watch that documentary and not feel their pain is beyond me.

And unless some proof is found to confirm that Madeleine is dead I won't give up on her.

For those who watched the interview last night, did you all perceive that the Mc Canns were almost shocked (extremely surprised) that Madeleine woke up in the middle of the night? Why would they be so surprised about that? Unless someone drug her? :waitasec:

I thought it was absolutely bizarre. Both my children awaken at night still and only recently has the almost 12 y/o stopped coming to get me at times when she does.

I wonder if the nanny was a sleep-in nanny before--the nanny that was only mentioned once or twice by family members in the early days.

April:

What kidnapper???

The one that was in her room the night before & woke her up of course!

Sleuthmom, don't you know that a child would never ever waken unless there was a kidnapper in the room? That is the only reason that a child would ever waken up & cry!

the "moving on" phrase is inexplicable to me.

Clarence Mitchell warns chat rooms & forum members!

" There are forums and chatrooms that are totally
free for all and I am afraid they are cesspit of speculation , innuendo and downright defamation. I am afraid our lawyers are aware of that, I am aware of it ,there are ways and means of dealing with that too
and if we need too we will deal as well.".

"McCanns go to anniversary service

Kate and Gerry McCann will spend the rest of the day at home in Rothley

Kate and Gerry McCann have attended a church service to mark a year since their daughter Madeleine disappeared.

The couple held hands as they left the Anglican parish church near their home in Rothley, Leicestershire. ......................................."

http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/live...his-saddest-of-anniversaries-100252-20856330/

"A special mass for Madeleine will be held at 6.30pm today at Our Lady of the Annunciation, Bishop Eton, Woolton Road, Childwall.
Kate and Gerry were married at the church in December 1998 and it is where Kate’s mum prayed before Madeleine, an IVF baby, was born.
Mrs Healy said: "Everyone is welcome. There will be special prayers and songs for Madeleine and the bidding prayers will be read by children."
The mass will be taken by parish priest Father Des Keegan. He will be assisted by Father Paul Seddon, the priest who married Kate and Gerry at Bishop Eton and baptised Madeleine at the Holy Name church in Fazakerley. The readings will be given by ministers from local churches............................"

There was a Catholic Mass today yet they chose to attend the Anglican Service! This makes no sense at all for the devout catholics that they purport to be!
Father Paul Seddon, the priest that married them flew to PDL last May to be with them & they don't even attend his service?
Is their entire life a lie?

They are such weird people...no real emotional affect. That is one of the signs of serious psychopathy.

Poor little Maddie, the IVF baby, who turned out to be unwanted after her personality blossomed.

Evil, evil parents who did away with her and blamed the whole world.

Translation of latest SOS Maddie Article:

The McCanns will be charged: Neglect or Homicide

According to a source in the Public Ministry in Lisbon, Kate and Gerry McCann may be called to a Portuguese court and charged with the crime of neglect, without it being confirmed whether or not the couple will also be charged with homicide.

The Public Minsitry and the PJ detectives have agreed to meet officially in a few weeks to decide which charges the couple will be asked to answer. According to the same source, the judicial secrecy surrounding the inquiry into Madeleine’s disappearance will continue until august, after which time, once the judicial holiday period is over, the Public Ministry would be ready to move to trial.

Having now received the final results from the expert analysis of the blood samples and biological and synthetic residues, the detectives have had their line of investigation confirmed, but the Public Ministry apparently wishes to play it carefully because in a trial, given the lawyers taken on by Kate and Gerry McCann, it will be important to make sure there is no room for doubt.

The results of the tests show an almost perfect match between the genetic profile of the blood found in the Renault Scenic hired by the McCanns and that of Madeleine. The results are identical to those carried out on the traces of blood found in the ocean club apartment.

Even though the samples were of good quality and the results remove all doubts from the detectives, the process used in the analysis – Low Copy Number – is challenged by some experts, even though the UK Crown Prosecution Service has confidence in the procedure.

The 20/20 show tonight (watching now) appears to be the ITV documentary,
pretty much same ole', same ole'....

Lots of emotion/crying but haven't seen a single tear, man, that irks me. And the shaking her thing is downright scary.....

Oh, thanks, colomom. I thought so because there wasn't a big ruckus here about it! :(
