This just got me thinking...who do you supposed comes up with all the crappola Clarence Mitchell spews to the press? Most of us realize it's a childish mind game, but really, do they all sit in a room together and think "okay, what do we do next?", or do they copy other cases...Like this vacation thing...sounds a lot like the Aruba/Holloway case.

I really wonder who is the "master mind"? (rolling eyes)

I think he gets inspiration from the McCanns, but most of this he comes up with on his own.

They're probably even now packing for the "maybe" vacation or already there--the way celebrities announce their pregnancies just before they give birth.

It's all a PR game to Clarence. He ignores some things from the Portuguese press but then he tries to take command of the game again by going on the offensive.

yeah, they certainly won't be going to Portugal. Cause it's the whole country's fault that Madeleine was left alone. Right.

& if Madeleine is ever found they won't go back to greet her?
If her body is found they won't go back to identify?

Of course they know these things will never happen, making that very clear to us in their statement that they will never go back to Portugal!

Exactly, Barnaby. To me, it was very telling comment.

We should be hearing a statement more along this line - "Our bags are always packed in readyness to leave for Portugal the minute we get news that Maddie has been found...even if, God forbid, it's only her remains that are recovered. When she is found, we will go to Portugal immediately to be reunited with our precious daughter."

The McCanns know there will be no reunion with a living Maddie and they count on her body never being found.

And why is Clarence even announcing this? Why is it news that they are even considering a holiday? And why does it matter what the twins need?

For people that want to keep the focus on Madeleine, they sure do make a lot of announcements about themselves.
Why the assumption that Clarence Mitchel anounced it?

....."If a trip is being considered, it is "not imminent", said Mr Mitchell......

Sounds more like a response to a question.

They should have a psychologist as their PR, someone who will guide them into not giving away their guilt! Stupid people!

Madeleine McCann's parents may consider a holiday for the sake of their other children - but a break in Portugal has been ruled out, their spokesman has said.

"One thing I can say is that it will not be Portugal," he said.
"It would just create a huge media bun fight, and they don't want to do that.

"If a trip is being considered, it is "not imminent", said Mr Mitchell.

Makes a difference when we get the complete comment!!

What happened to your "Makes a difference when we get the complete comment!!" statement?...now you decide it's okay to use only "part" of his statement.

I think I know why they made this statement. It sort of sends the message:

"Freakin' Portugal isn't going to tell us where we should go. We didn't have to go do their stupid reenactment, and we don't ever have to go there again, because we aren't really Arguidoes, this isn't really happening to us, and we won't ever spend time in jail anywhere. We have freedom to go anywhere in the world we choose and no one can stop us."

They are thumbing their nose at Portugal, but also at the idea that Portugal has any control over them at all.

So that statement really has nothing to do with the twins, but is about the McCanns still being "free" and making their own decisions about where they can travel. (At least until all that comes to a grinding halt someday).

I agree. Clarence and the McCanns are playing offense on this one.

Beause the complete comment made a big diffence to the meaning of what was said. Which was the subject of the first post.

As I said the above sentence sounds like a response to a question...which was the subject of the second post.

Agreed.

I believe, however, that as with so many missing children and those who never really have a chance to live, or suffered so much in their mortal lives while they were here on earth, that God is far more compassionate and loving to them for eternity than we can ever imagine.

If Madeleine is not living, then I truly believe she is in the Light as expressed by Jesus ("I am the light of the world") and not in darkness, even though we in our human nature do not know what happened to her, or where her remains might be.

I also believe that this at the heart of the McCanns' confusing and contradictory statements. No matter what part they played in Madeleine's very likely demise, either by neglect or direct action, they are aware of where she is in reality, and their words reflect this. That God takes care of Madeleine without respect to her parents' actions is no different than what He does forever and ever into eternity, for all children who suffer from the actions and decisions of adults who control their lives.

Sorry to go all religious and freaky on you, my peeps, I just wanted to remind myself that while I would feel so much better knowing what happened to Madeleine...I also must acknowledge that if she has passed, she cannot feel any better than she does right now, with the Father who will never leave her.

:blowkiss:
Thank you for your post - I need the reminder, too, otherwise I wouldn't be able to read any of these horrific crimes we do!! Still praying Maddie will be found and justice served.

Me, too. Especially when it gets quiet like this...

It is quiet. Not much in the media now either. I guess we just wait. July is coming. I hate to wish the summer away and yet, I am looking forward to the day we find out if the McCanns will be charged.

Me, too. I hate the waiting. If I had to bet, it would be that in the end, the McCanns end up not being charged with anything, though.

Yes, Texana, I agree. It is sad, but unless PLE has something to go on that we are just not aware of, I'm thinking this is going to become a "cold case" after this summer and the final push by PLE. Its sad, really. But if those two are as religious as they claim, at some point they will have to tell......

Well not for one minute do I believe that these two people are as religious as they claim so the chances of a confession are slim to none. They will brazen this out until the end of their days!

I wish. But, for the "sake of the twins" they won't.

Is it true that the McCanns first said they locked the door to the apartment and later changed their story to having left the door open?
