Not sure what your point is here??

I think the point colomom is making, if you don't like something that is written or printed on any forum, don't read it. I don't, if I come across anything I feel is offensive, I simply switch/click off!

And also, what anybody else thinks does not determine my action because I decide what is right for me!!!

Jane and Russell squeezed by the PJ
Witness with a bad memory

Jane Tanner did not even manage to repeat the description of the man she saw carrying a child on the fateful night.

Jane Tanner, one of the main witnesses in the process of the disappearance of Maddie, gave another deposition yesterday that was different from the preceding ones. When questioned by the PJ team that was sent to England, Jane was unable to explain how, when and where she saw the alleged abductor – the same one that she reportedly described in November for the drawing of an elaborate photofit. http://joana-morais.blogspot.com/2008/04/pj-wants-mccanns-in-location-of-crime.html

The Judiciary Police wants to have in Portugal, in the next month, Kate and Gerry McCann, the British couple whose three-year-old daughter disappeared from Praia da Luz, Algarve. The objective of the Portuguese investigators is to try, with a re-enactment of the night on the 3rd of May in the location of the crime, to understand the various contradictions of the statements given by the last persons who saw Maddie alive. In this group, there are seven friends who were accompanying the McCanns in the dinner of the Tapas Bar, when the alarm of the disappearance of the girl was given.

116000, the single EU hotline number for missing children is NOT a McCann Idea

(as suggested here: http://news.sky.com/skynews/article/0,,30100-1312247,00.html)

This article originally read:

"The parents of missing four-year-old Madeleine McCann are setting up a dedicated information hotline for missing children that will be available across Europe.

Kate and Gerry McCann and their team are believed to have already reserved the hotline number - 116 000."
<continues>

But has now been changed.

The TRUTH

116000, the single EU hotline number for missing children

IP/07/188
Brussels, 15 February 2007

The Commission has adopted today the Decision reserving the 116000 telephone number in all Member States as a hotline for reporting missing children. Other common Europe-wide telephone services of social value starting with 116 may soon be reserved following this Decision.
"I am delighted that today the first major step towards a single EU hotline number for missing children has been taken," said EU Telecom Commissioner Viviane Reding. "I urge Member States to act now to make this a reality, so that Europe's parents will soon know that they are able to call this number and get immediate help." <continues>

Oh dear, seems to be a "miscommunication somewhere, hmmmmmm?

Well - I am surprised! With all the time they had to get their stories straight and all the advance publicity of the request to re-question everyone, AND the secret "reunion" it seems like this questioning should be a cake walk..........

Why am I not surprised???

Jane, Jane, Jane. A good attorney would shred her testimony like Swiss cheese. Not surprising, since it's full of holes to begin with.

Colomom can any of this "information" be confirmed?
Or is it from a source, friend or insider of the PJ...or maybe it's bloggers  up to their usual dirty tricks. Whichever...they certainly didn't waste any time.

It's from 24Horas April, which I believe is a "tabloid" style daily in Portugal.

I guess it is one of those stories we should take with a grain of salt and see if any others pick it up.

I am seeing some evidence of leaks coming out of the Leicestershire Police department.

Entirely up to you....

I have read these sources from Portugal extensively and I have found that they are better sources of accurate information than any other media source at this time.

I would never think any tabloid, and especially not the Portuguese tabloids a source of accurate information. They haven't covered themselves in glory with their part in the smears. :waitasec:
Source is a good word. :waitasec: As for their (accuracy :liar: )....it's not exactly their strong point....hense the salt...sales is their only priority. IMO

I do think, when you pull it all together, the Portuguese papers are more accurate and generally speaking, at least from my own experience, are somewhat less sensationalized.

Now - I read 24 Hours carefully as it is somewhat similar to many of the British papers like the Sun, etc. But when the info is backed up by the Corrida (sp?) and other Portugese papers I pay much closer attention.

I think the local spin is closer to the truth.

Portuguese police claim McCanns left Madeleine crying in her bedroom the night before she disappeared

Kate McCann admitted they left their daughter Madeleine alone and crying in their holiday apartment on the night before she disappeared, it has been reported.
The accusations stem from leaked statements apparently given by the couple to police in the immediate aftermath of the incident in May last year.

 I never said the Portuguese tabloids were "a source of accurate information".

I said "they are better sources of accurate information than any other media source at this time".

The American media is completely silent and "out of the loop" and the British media seems to be "muzzled".

And Salem, I agree.....when you pull it all together, exactly.

Instead of the big broad grin in that article she should be hanging her head in shame! Leaving a darling little girl crying her eyes out for her mum & then to repeat the next evening! Despicable & disgusting!
If I did that, God forbid! I would be hiding away in shame from the public not seeking more fame & fortune.
This woman disgusts me in a way that not many others have!

Glad you are able to grin Kate! I don't think I would ever smile again if I lost my daughter never mind being such a callous mother as you & ultimately responsible for my daughters fate! Shame on you!
You have no right to spearhead any campaign & represent decent parents who have lost children through no fault of their own!
Get back to Portugal & help the police find the truth!

“Gerry and I spoke for a couple of minutes and agreed to keep a closer watch over the children.”

So they left them alone again....

“Maddie isn’t there. Someone’s taken her.”

Changes again....

“To my surprise I realised I could lift up the window shutters without effort and almost without making noise.

And now for something completely different....

"The reporter also told how Gerry revealed to police in his statement that workmen had come into their holiday flat to fix a broken window shutter in the main bedroom two days before she went missing."

WOW, never heard that before....

“But the pillow, her cuddle cat and the blanket she had slept with were almost in the same place as I had seen them the last time.”

Erm, wasn't Cuddle Cat on top of the wardrobe???

This is the most devastating part of the article:

"Yesterday the McCanns confirmed the leaked police statements were genuine but strongly criticised the police for allowing the documents to become public."

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/pages/live/articles/news/news.html?in_article_id=558574&in_page_id=1770

So, knowing that the children were awake and crying for them (confirming Mrs. Fenn's alleged story) the McCanns still chose to repeat their actions the next evening.

So the following questions are in order: Why, after their talk "for a few minutes" and agreement to watch the children more closely, did the McCanns allegedly do the same thing the next evening?

Is it possible that they decided to deal with the issue of the children awakening and crying by giving them something to make sure they slept more soundly and were not upset by awakening?

And given that they repeatedly made decisions obviously not in the children's best welfare interests, can their judgment in any other way be considered trustworthy or reasonable?

They showed poor judgment not once, but twice. To me, this is just devastating.

From http://the3arguidos.net/index.php Posted today, regarding the Mc's Brussels trip.

http://the3arguidos.net/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=8661&start=0

Why are the supporters of the Amber Alert system aligning themselves with Kate and Gerry McCann, who remain official suspects (“arguidos”) in an ongoing police investigation, jointly conducted by Portuguese and British police forces? Are these the right role models for ambassadors in the cause of missing children?

My thoughts exactly.
