april4sky, I take your point about a change of mind not being a lie.

However, when I said that I did not believe a word that the McCanns uttered, the problem comes that if a person lies once, or on quite a few occasions, how does one know when that person is telling the truth and when they are lying?

Here's another conundrum for you.

Two versions:

'Mail' article last October: Gerry read them a bedtime story.

'Times' atricle by David Smith, 16 December 2007: Kate read them a bedtime story.

There's lot's more like this.

Who's right here? Gerry? Kate? Or maybe neither?

My 'take' is neither.

We'll examine many more contradictions about the events of 3rd May. Because they're very important.

If you're willing to

I'm really curious about these pictures, any ideas what they're about and where they come from?

  • #345
I'm curious also Sleuthmom! Hope it breaks soon so we can see the photos! I looked at the site, but there was no info, just a very brief posting exactly as colomom posted above.

So the McCanns fire Metodo 3 and get involve in one that charges them 212,000 Euros monthly!

Where is all this money coming from!

It's being paid for from the damages awarded in the libel case.

No SM, I don't know any more than you. I would assume that they are pics we have seen before. I find it hard to believe that there are 24 NEW pictures floating around out there. So, if they are those which we have seen.....any ideas?

Maybe the pictures at the playground, shortly after Maddie vanished, showing the "happy family"? Maybe 24 pictures of reported sightings and suspects (pictures in the complete final report that only the media has seen so far)??

What do you think?

I have the feeling that some maybe old and others maybe new. If they're all old ones I fail to see how those pictures would possibly re-open the case.

Maybe someone is going to use the pictures of the "happy family" at the park with the dark, bald guy looking on? Maybe they will finally do a true and honest accounting of who he is and explain why he shows up in so many pictures. I would really like to see that! That guy alone could make me think an abduction might have happened. No one has ever explained his presence, his looking on, and then him showing up in later pictures during the investigation to my satisfaction. My understanding is that he is Portugese LE, right?

Investigation: McCann couple pays 212 thousand euros per month

Criticizing the Polícia Judiciária’s work, the McCann couple understands that “the obtained documents have potential that may not close the case”

An English newspaper has struck a deal with the McCann couple, as a reply to the defamatory news about the latter, to participate in the payment of the fees of the detective team that tries to find Maddie. The detectives collect 166 thousand pounds (212 thousand euros) per month to carry out the searches, according to the ‘Sunday Times’, which omits the name of the newspaper and of the investigator firm.

The new team of private detectives has a multimillionaire salary, compared to the amount that was paid to the Spanish at Método 3. The company, which is directed by Francisco Marco, publicized that they received 60 thousand euros for six months of work. The coverage of expenses against the presentation of receipts earned them an additional 108 thousand euros.

The work of the private investigators is carried out based on the investigation that was done by the Polícia Judiciária, until the process was archived. With the purpose of finding Maddie alive, these experts dedicate great attention to the depositions by persons who assert that they saw little girls looking like Maddie in different locations of the world. In the observation of leads, the detectives have valued the possible connection between the alleged abduction and a Belgian paedophile network, which three days before the disappearance “ordered through the internet” a girl with Maddie’s characteristics. Just like the British police, the Portuguese authorities did not value the lead. Even the Child Protection Centre in the United Kingdom comments the information with some reservation.

Criticizing the performance of the Polícia Judiciária, the McCanns defend that the publicity of the process has given the searches a new impulse. “The documents possess great potential and some may allow for the case not to be closed”, their spokesman, Clarence Mitchell, sustains.

Strong means

Donation fund – With the purpose of paying for a private investigation, Maddie’s parents have created a fund for the public to give money, right after the English girl’s disappearance.

Empty fund – The McCanns’ spokesman stated in June that the fund was not drained, and that 630 thousand euros were then available.

Another two million – In July, the fund was reinforced with two million euros of donations.

From Enfants Kidnapped clipped from 3a:

The underside of the case.

Following the article by SOS Madeleine on the testimony of custody, the British press which seeks to discredit any price to Belgium in the eyes of their readers, moving the Belgians for people vautrant in prostitution and for paedophiles our assouvissant fantasies of children, takes the case. Therefore journalists from various tabloids are found in Brussels: News of the World, The Mail, The Daily Mail and Mirror. Only the "SUN" down to Ghent instead Brussels. The "Sun" is, strangely, accompanied by a member of the disappearance of the federal police who guides them on the scene facts in this case the KBC. The next day, "SUN" published online 5 videos in the dossier which were originally sent to cell disappearance of the federal police. According to our information, "SUN" paid 40,000 € for these videos. Then, the "Sun" has sold to SKY News for the nice sum of 100,000 €. According to our information, purchase videos will be made through a person whose son had taken a course in the UK within the "SUN" and whose father (whom we do not disclose the identity) would be very close to the investigation. It would thus, for money, leaked information and sold parts to conviction in violation of Article of the Criminal Code on the Belgian professional secrecy which has kept the police officer! Therefore the press bousculait in Molenbeek. The Mirror had even 3 teams, including a mission was to follow the team "SUN" and retake all behind them. At that time newspapers désinforment the public by disclosing false information. Thus the "SUN" declares: "The Belgian police acknowledged that it could be Madeleine." Information absolutely false, since then, investigators already know that this is not Madeleine. The Daily Mail journalists have been interesting work. They went in all shops and cafes around the KBC and have placed posters with pictures of women and girls by specifying their number. These posters have increased their fruit. The father of the girl child is entered in a rage when he saw photos of his daughter put up everywhere in his neighborhood. He returned to his home. He put on the internet, he saw the images released by the "SUN". He immediately understood the importance of the thing and presented himself to police. The young pregnant woman who accompanied the girl is none other than his baby-sitter.

Note that the statement by the security guard is bona fide. He did not seek to attract attention. As you look at the videos, one can not help but'être troubled by a certain similarity in attitudes. In addition, the girl spoke English well. We saw the girl and is really striking resemblance to Madeleine. We'd fallen into the trap ourselves.

Since I believe they killed her, I tell ya they MUST be absolutely SURE she will never, ever be found...otherwise can you imagine the amount of lawsuits because of this fund?

That's a really good point SM. I am very surprised lawsuits haven't been filed by many of the "collateral damage" in this case. Do you suppose that the Moroccan family (remember, walking along the road, "Maddie" on the mom's back?) has been paid off? Or what about Marie Luz Cortes' family? Why didn't they sue?? Makes you wonder....

  • #355
Tony, we've done it before, but let's see if we can put together a comprehensive list of the contradictions we know for May 3rd, maybe even May 1st.

Then maybe we can pick through and decide which are reasonable contradictions and which ones are evidence of something else.

I know the lawyer from Guatemala whose daughter was at a local mall with her bodyguard was furious when they stopped the daughter and the man who was with her and even though he got an apology from the British Embassy he plans to sue, probably to the Guatemalan police.

I have the feeling that some maybe old and others maybe new. If they're all old ones I fail to see how those pictures would possibly re-open the case.

There are at least 2 old pictures that need some explaining. If any old pictures are among this 24 I would think that the "Topless Maddie pool pic" and the "Maddie coming out of the play house at PDL pic" need another look. Of course this has been discussed before, so sorry to rehash old news.

The pool picture is odd. I have never understood having a professional (male) photographer taking what appears to be a nude picture of a toddler. Parents, sure I have a few adorable bath tub pics I love. we;ve all done it... But a male professional potographer come to my house and take naked pictures of my little girl?...NEVER.

Also the picture of Maddie at the play ground coming out of the playhouse. I can't remember the exact dimensions right now, and am too lazy to look for it, but in that picture Maddie was the same height as the door, but according to the manufacture specks, the door was *I think* 12 cm HIGHER than the McCanns statement on Madeleine's height at the time she went missing. According to that picture, Madeleine was actually much taller than what her parents said she was. I could see being off 5 cm either way, but not by 12! Something is fishy there.

No the problem comes when you buy into leaks, smears and inuendo which are lies!!

There sure is a lot more like this....and unless we heard one of them make this statement we don't know.
You won't be surprised to hear my "take" is that one of them read the children a bedside story. :)

If you're willing to
And no I am not willing to.
I don't see the point if you are to include what you see as "contradictions" but in fact are what others have "said" the McCanns said. :waitasec:

Good points, that picture also shows a man in the background, no? I can't wait to see what pictures they're referring to.

God

I really thiought things had moved on from comparing two seperate articles in the press from 2007 - even worst one of them is from the Daily Mail - with all due respect Tony - it doesnt really mean anything

who knows if they are correct - why dont you contact the press as during that time there was was acres of news written by the UK papers - most of it inaccurate , contradictory and at worst down right lies

we can argue till the cows come home about who said what when - but it is highly unlikely to get the case re opened -

Do you do all remember that the case is shut right ?? :)
