To me it seems, he had a stash of money in 2010. Nothing reliable to 2007 IMO.

If his mates are to be believed though, he wanted to “make a million”. You only get that by either winning the lottery, or saving whatever you make from thieving. Very few people are going to keep that under a stash of clothes, or as loose change about the house. If he really did want to get to 1mil, but didn’t want to work for it, then it makes sense he’d save some of his stash and not necessarily blow it all as soon as he got his hands on it. He also comes across as very frugal; claiming he’s homeless, living in a camper parked in peoples’ gardens and asking for showers so as not to waste money on rent and electricity. I think it was Ted mentioned a few pages back that usually the people that cry poverty are the ones with more money than us Joe Soaps in the bank.
“Look after the pennies and the pounds will look after themselves” etc

ETA - “in the bank” was a poor choice of words. Under a mattress may have been more apt, not subject to tax etc

Madeleine McCann suspect Christian Brueckner gave 'underage girls drugs in exchange for sex' | Daily Mail Online

'It was conspicuous that he had boasted about a sudden financial windfall after he returned from Portugal in 2007. Friends remember him telling them that he had found cash in a pile of clothes, large sums of money, after breaking into a home in the Algarve.

'In addition to a mobile home, he also used the money to buy a derelict factory property in the state of Saxony-Anhalt.’

From this article, Tedster, dated 6/6/20.

I guess if he bragged about a rape and showed a video recording to a friend in a pub, it's not inconceivable he would brag about a lesser crime of having stolen a large sum of money.

Wasn’t there a mask wearing man who would sneak in to rooms before MM went missing ...... could he have been him???

Yes, there is money! Even to pay lawyers without an official case! One of them a "VIP-Lawyer"....

Totally agree.
Also if he had stolen the money and saved the rest like we said, I think he would only have wanted to invest that money into his main obsession and his "business"

A vehicle in which he could transport children and drugs.

A remote box factory where he could hide the evidence of his obsession with children.

A kiosk conveniently placed next to a school.

imo.

And Fulscher’s office doesn’t strike me as the kind to do pro-bono work.

Nail on the head, Ted, thank you.

I really do think that BKA have nailed this.
They just need to put the phone in his hand at the scene of the crime, perhaps find some "trophy" clothing of MM.
Damn, I hope they find the other person on the call that night!

imo

But again, frugal. He supposedly bought the factory and possibly the Allegra at auction, so at a very reduced price. I’d need to look into the house in Bavaria a bit more as it’s the first I’m hearing of it, and I was nearly sure I read before that he just rented the kiosk so need to look into that again too.

It said the house he grew up in as a child ? wonder if that was before he was adopted or with his adoptive parents ?

@SuperdadV8
What would the rental cost of the kiosk been back then?
