I would have thought if they were trying to use pressure tactics they wouldn’t allow him to follow the case in any form as it would backfire on them, no? I guess FF would be informing him anyway even if he didn’t have access to media.

I have no idea how it got to the media but they seem to publish anything about the MM case, even the smallest things. Probably why the German LE are keeping so tight lipped!
And we now know what he has to eat on certain days of the week, so I’m guessing the one inmate who serves him his dinner was passed the sketch and got some profit from it?!

The press are as desperate as we are. No doubt in a few days time we will have filled another thread trying to work out if he’s leaving secret messages in his sketch

“He also has his own television, from where he keeps abreast of the latest developments in the Madeleine McCann case, it has been reported.” If the German LE are using pressure tactics why is he allowed access to a television?

I can make sure, that the MM-case doesn't play a big role on german TV. His lawyer will tell him all the "news" from the web.

That's not the pressure game! It's the 23 hour solitary containment without any social life. Even in prison, there exists social life in some special kind. Sentenced and convinced sex-offenders and child-molesters/-killers are usually kept in special prison wings with similar perps, to be protected from the usual attacks, paedos have to fear from the "normal" inmates.

But he is isolated all the time now! That's very hard for most of the people and can bring them to see "altered perspectives". Even just not to be alone all the day anymore.

You’re so right I didn’t think of it like that. I hope he’s feeling paranoid and scared. The average person would definitely snap under these circumstances but CB is a psychopath, remember when he knew the police were onto him so he started playing games with them? I hope he doesn’t see this as another game he can play them at. Like the journalist said, it’s also putting pressure on witnesses/people who know CB to come forward so hopefully it’s not just waiting on CB to break and confess.

I don't think any confession will be made by him, due to his personal or mental state. The only way that should lead to a 'strategic" confession will be his solicitor, after getting access to the prosecuters files maybe. Or maybe not, if it turns out to be a indication process at court.

Either to keep a perspective of getting out of prison before his own death, or to prevent getting all the blame and responsibility for the crime, while possible accomplices weren't charged. IMO.

According to video link in this, information from "sources within the investigation and within politics" we still haven't heard the whole story in the case and there is basically a "pressure" tactic going on by prosecutors/LE in not questioning him yet, to see if he will give up information or give information on others.

Inside Madeleine McCann suspect's cell where he spends 23 hours a day

Hopefully this is a reporting error & is actually a reference to the American lady we have already heard about & not another of CBs heinous crimes.
He was convicted in 2013 of sexually assaulting the daughter of a former girlfriend, it emerged last month, and has also been found guilty of raping a pensioner on a Portuguese beach.

Casa J, where a rape occured, is very close to the Praia da Luz beach, and it is IMO via a simple mistranslation or journalist error that it becomes morphed to "on" the beach.
ETA about 60 metres from the beach

Because it's his right under German prison law. The prosecutors can't demand his tv be confiscated, they don't have that sort of power. In any case, from a brief google, tvs in German prison cells are dependent upon good behaviour. If he fulfills that remit, which presumably he does (as otherwise he wouldn't have one), then he quite rightly keeps his tv.

It's probably got a limited number of channels though, I would have thought, so not sure just how that would enable him to keep abreast of anything much relating to this current case.

Well he’s not on suicide watch if he’s allowed a sharp pencil...

How does this even find it’s way into the media?!

C'mon now, Peanut, this is valuable and very pertinent info... ;)
His meals include stew on Mondays, fish on Thursdays and a roast dinner on Sundays.

Either released by FF because his suitcase can't be checked by the papers in it, to show CB as a human being. What he is indeed, as perverted as it may sound. Showing his "good" side to the public is already better, than doing nothing than making useless appeals. He even stated in the past, that poor little CB gets more and more skinny! Maybe he's preparing for future appeals in the coming trial, due to broken human rights.

Or even launched by the prosecuters, to show his desperated situation. Maybe it makes accomplices to come out before CB does, what he has refused to do in the past, according to the holy water statement.

In the end, it should be FF's strategy IMO.

PS: Throwing the TV at the staff or other inmates or even breaking it, should lead to tv-free time dear Anxala!;)

A translation error, I'd say, and/or just the normal, random lack of care on the part of tabloid reporting, desperate always to be first rather than accurate. I think we'd know by now if there were another case of rape of a pensioner laid at the door of CB.

Why do you think so?

I don't know, is the honest answer. Just an opinion formed by the very perplexing (imo) manner in which this investigation has been conducted.

Time will of course tell.

I have been trying to sleuth the burglary which happened in PdL on 11 Jan 2005. Hoping to identify the address and then to look at the layout of windows etc. The main clue is that the victims were a british model + her producer partner. They were in the living room while the burglar entered. If anyone knows the street location of this burglary plz let me know.

Well, quite!

Clearly, his tv has stayed in one piece and in one secured place.

Can't wait for the next installment when we discover what he eats on Tues/Wed/Fri/Sat.

... and the 3 burglaries, near-identical to eachother, all of UK victims, all in Praia da Luz, concentrated in the two dates 6th and 7th August 2005. Surely there must be some further information about these 3 burglaries (hopefully maybe the street addresses and method of entry) on old travel review sites/forums? But I found nothing so far.

I'm fine with stew on Mondays (the weekends' leftovers, we all do that) and the roast on Sundays (roast is universally for Sundays, we all do that) but I'm really suspicious about this 'fish on Thursdays' business.

Fish, as everyone knows, is for Fridays. It's FRIDAY FOOD!!

And either he has a very steady hand, or has also been supplied with a ruler o_O

Yes, sorry, it's a bit fishy that he gets fish on Thursday.....I did apologise

Why don't they simplify things? One drawing per day of his dinner!

He probably does get fish on Friday and Thursday is a reporting error!

Is it usual for cells to have curtains? Apart from possibility of being used in suicide attempt, they irk me as are "homely" o_O
