I don’t think the German prosecutor has any ulterior motive. There is a team of them working on this case who all believe with 99% certainty that MM is dead and CB is the culprit. I think the use of media was to collect extra info about CB, asking the public to come forward to help their case. I think they are really close to solving it and they just want to make the case air tight so they have asked the public for info. If this backfires on them, CB can sue them and they will tarnish their reputation.

Oh I agree its not an ulterior motive. I just question the wisdom of it.

Isn’t that par for the course in rape cases?

Unfortunately for FF, CB’s hair was found in DM’s bed. There’s no getting around that, and he can bleat on all he likes - it lends credibility to the witnesses.

It's all very 'cat and mouse' imo.

But I can certainly see why Fülscher is going down the defensive route he seems to be going down in terms of questioning the credibility of witnesses who reek of recidivist wrong-doing. To not question and find fault with them would be negligent and him not doing his job.
