From the link posted by Dennis, there was only one sex offence in Germany, why should he have been regarded as a priority.

Sadly there were 2 , one against a 6 year old girl and one against a
9 year old boy. When he was convicted for the diesel theft in 2006
he admitted sex offences when he was younger. However he did not share the fact they were against children . The court never asked also or looked into it . Realistically CB by 2006 should have been down as thief and absconding child sex offender deported back to Germany which should have been on his PJ record. I‘m sure there are more minor crimes he’s committed in Portugal that we don’t know of , point being I think the Police in PDL were aware of him not necessarily in a suspicious way though some police officers maybe viewed him differently . It would be interesting to know if any former officers in the Algarve fell off their chairs when his face became public (pun intended!)

But it's a German passport, so 'ue' is identical to 'ü' in this case. In the same way that 'ß' is identical to 'ss' in German.

Don’t forget, Christian Brückner is a very common name here in Germany. Also there are 55 with that name on FB. Maybe it’s just a man posting his daughter

yet there does not appear to be any other activity on that account, it’s very strange whether it is Madeleine or not.

1994. But what relevance do you think that has? When crimes involving abduction or suspected sexual assualt of children happen, police will straight away look at known offenders in the area.

They don't just then rule those offenders out on the basis of how long ago it happened or if the age of the current victim isn't an exact match to the offender’s previous victims.

Was there any kind of sex register ? 1997 in the UK one was set up I've be read.

Not sure on that but it's irrelevant anyway. The Portuguese authorities knew he was a child sex offender because they extradited him back to Germany for it in 1999. And Amaral has confirmed he was on a list of suspects in 2007. How did they "rule him out"?

How would you expect PJ to know what happened in Germany in 1994 ?

IMO the thing the Prosecutors most want to know about is CB's movements in May 2007.
