‘He told me: “I can transport children, kids, in this space. Drugs and children, you can transport them in this van, it’s a safe space in the van, nobody can find them. Nobody can catch you.” ’

This is nonsense, except the part about drugs. Dieter must include a context here so that children make sense to be told to him.

IMO The German Police have been pressured into making this statement. The MET and MM's parents want the evidence but they cannot possibly divulge this evidence to them, hence the back tracking.
I think so. Not too sure all the possible outcomes though.

I was looking at photos of MN online but couldn’t decide about green eyes. Wasn’t it these two that were supposed to be in Bermuda shorts? Doesn’t quite fit my image of them.
Me too- spent ages trying to find a good picture or detailed physical description. Couldn't find out. You can see that they are blue or green, but impossible to tell from images available.

It was possibly a different van - he was a car dealer-knew scrap merchants etc
It must have been a different van. I thought I read somewhere about him owning an orange camper van as well. As a small time car dealer with a pal who owned a scrappy he presumably had access to lots of vehicles. but only heard of 3 (now 4) that he was definitely seen driving in PdL at the time

the maroon/grey/dark coloured jag
yellow and white vw camper
yellow estate car
white winebega van

other possibles:
orange camper?
camper he sawed roof off?

Do we know anything more about the scrap dealer connection, apart from CB selling it to him for a fair sum of money?

ETA Sorry, just catching up. Added the Winebega

I've been following this thread for a few days, not read all the posts (so many!) but some random things I've been thinking are:

- CB moving to that area in the first place was definitely for a reason, not just a random move. Some connection led him there. Also he needs money - maybe he believes he will be able to make money there, or that he will connect with people?
- The house that was used to rehabilitate troubled young people from Germany sounds very strange/not right. If it received funding how did it secure that funding and was it ever checked? And wasn't CB a troubled young person from Germany?
- If the comment about having a horrible/terrible job to do the next day that would lead to a a big change can be relied on, this to me means a planned job, and could mean that it was a job for someone else - maybe not for money but for something else - to pay off a debt? to free him from something? something that he had been ordered to do? And mentioning that he might not be around for a while - why, was he planning on going somewhere? Can his phone calls over the next few weeks be traced?
- there is a post a couple of pages back which mentions RH also being in the area and having a camper van (a campervan - or just a van?). Strange that he should also be in the area at the time - what if it were the same VW? Is it somehow shared? (no evidence of this though). Do CB, MN, RH all know each other?
- If CB was dealing drugs / drug running to Germany (I seem to recall reading?) there must have been people that he was getting them from, or dealing on behalf of - who were they?
- there are reports of him having a gun in a holster and people being afraid of him. Sounds like he is behaving like some kind of mafia - are there others behind him? Or is he scared and feels the need to protect himself, put on a show of bravado?

I also can't get my head round the idea that this person who seems to live from day to day, sometimes with nowhere to live, takes drugs and drinks a lot by all accounts can come across as smartly dressed, and could be organised enough to leave barely any evidence at the scene of the rape that he was found guilty of. Seems like an odd contradiction - a chaotic lifestyle but extreme control over certain aspects? The idea that he might be a fall guy doesn't sound impossible. Just my opinions. Based on what I've read in tabloids and on this site.

I know people on here hate the British tabloids, but they are digging up lots of dirt on CB. Maybe just what the case needs...

It appears there's plenty of dirt to be found

So many q's maybe one day we'll all find out.
He's just been VERY lucky IMO - always on the move, evading law though circumstances - Just a low life dealer, part time worker, scratching around for a living, gigolo, depraved paedo.

At 17 CB grabbed a girl and showed his penis to a boy, so he was arrested and put in a reformatory.

At 19 he's suspect to have abducted a child in Algarve (René Hasee) and another in Belgium (Carola Titze) 15 days apart without leaving the slightest evidence.

This like a hen thief caught at 17 become a bank robber Ocean's Eleven-style at 19...

We don't know that the earlier offences at 17 were his first. They were the first he was prosecuted for.

ETA And I think they involved more than you say

Just lucky or protected in some way? (another question!). Probably the former, just speculating.

Honestly though, any 1 of us could message a British Tabloid claiming to have a story on CB.. regardless of what we tell them, regardless of what evidence we have to support our claims, your story would still make the front page tomorrow! Pinch of salt comes to mind X

Just another thought (before I head off to bed) -
I read somewhere in a tabloid that the police are keen to know more about the interiors of places where he lived. I'm wondering whether the forensic evidence that has been mentioned was found on an object and they want to try and connect the same object with CB?

Can prisoners get onto the dark web in prison?
