Perhaps they wanted to tie CB to this place- farmhouse mentioned in one of his emails. He was also carrying a gun - perhaps it was one of those two they found.
Let's assume for the moment these guns are CB's. How does it move Maddie's case forward?

It has no value in the case of MM, but demonstrates how media twist information - black market guns myIt’s minimising. Those guns are not muskets collected by an enthusiast.![]()

Could be anything.Let's assume for the moment these guns are CB's. How does it move Maddie's case forward?
That does not explain my question. How these guns move forward Maddie's case?Could be anything.
Numerous possibilities. That does not explain my question. How these guns move forward Maddie's case?
Numerous possibilities.
Without knowing the whole picture it is impossible to quantify the value of 'finds' or where they fit in the scheme of things. That does not explain my question. How these guns move forward Maddie's case?
Possibly, but if investigators consider it is a course of action worth taking it can only add to the sum total of their knowledge. So yeah. A big nothingburger.

Frustrating that they don't share, but that is the way of things when an investigation is in progress so even if they wanted to they couldn't.
Doesn't stop us speculating, though.
My opinion
Exactly! None of these small pieces of potential evidence should be taken out of context. Seems we can't see the forest for the treesAgree. The searches seemed targeted, so if the items found have helped to present a clear and compelling image in the chain of circumstantial evidence that's a good thing.

Why do you think guns might be significant in a murder case?So yeah. A big nothingburger.
IMO if relevant - most likely a circumstantial link or a corroboration of the credibility of a witness & a clue to whether they’re in the right areaBBM
Perhaps BKA is establishing to prove they are his. Especially if he could have denied owning guns or ammunition.

I don't. The press and some commrntets tout is as a big find. Why do you think guns might be significant in a murder case?
For example, CB wrote in his emails he fantasised about abducting a mother and child and taking then to a farmhouse. CB also could have told that witness we first heard of in the recent trial
The verdict in that trial puts the credibility of that witness under a big question mark, at least IMO.
s senseless in a case like this, looking at the bigger picture and trying to ascertain how it could fit in promote an open minded view.
“The evidence we had was not enough to convict the defendant,” presiding judge Uta Engemann said, according to dpa, adding that “we were dealing with unreliable witnesses, some of whom deliberately lied to the court.”

I could agree with that, but there were already multiple searches, that brought exactly nothing. BK is preparing to leave jail, due of the incompetence of the very same people who right now investigate Maddie's case:
German court acquits McCann suspect of unrelated sexual offense charges
That's an egregiously bungled case if I ever saw i. So yeah, I have my doubts about if these people know what they do, I have lots of doubts.
Maybe it is time to admit, that the German prosecutors do not have any groundbreaking evidence against CB and that they bungled this case as horribly as they bungled the case of sex assaults. They have been investigating CB for five years and they are not even an inch closer to arresting him, let alone bringing him to the court. And the fact that the tabloids blow grossly out of proportion every story and every fruitless search, to boist up their sales, does not change that.
CB is not a criminal mastermind with army of undercover helpers, he is a petty, impulsive criminal caught because of his own incompetence. If BKA had anything substantial on him, he would be already on trial. All they have are tales of other petty criminals, trying to gain something for themselves.
