More observations from the ch5 docu, CB in a letter tells MWT that after his release in Dec 06 he never went back to Luz, instead selling drugs in Praia Da Barranco.
Also CB told MWT he driving and got stopped at a police roadblock after 3/05/07 where a man was taking photos, CB challenged and was told it was SY, so if true they had his photo.
Another thought although the pepper spray incident was on the 10th, even if CBs name was not on the docket, how would he know if it if not with the girl.

Valid point. I doubt they kept in touch once she went home.

A good read imo, from a brilliant sleuth, for those who missed the extensive discussion about the MWT docu, 3 years ago.

I suppose so. Seems a lot, but spread over a decade and a half it only amounts to a handful a year
Which is definitely creepy

CB doesn't need to scream from the roof tops of his innocence, all that he's heard is through news media, I doubt his defence is constantly in touch, the time for talking is when or if he ever reached court, he never said anything in his recent trial , look how that turned out.

The right to silence.

nemo tenetur se ipsum accusare

The prosecutors have a duty to rule their suspect out if they uncover reason to do so, including anything passed over by the defence. Easy win.

Thanks that’s great sleuthing.

An alibi that can’t give him an alibi, his number but he wasn’t using - it’s quite nonsensical. Being pro CB, taking everything in isolation & pretending everything is a coincidence is daily chatter here but it’s hard to fathom why channel 5 tried to make a programme out of it.

As far as I've understood, the GPS data they got from inadmissible evidence together with pictures and witness statements placed CB in the Arade dam. The same could be said for the recent search. If they can prove via other means he was there, the perhaps they can say this witness is trustworthy for the court. Jmo

Ch5 link, not available out side the uk.
Well worth a read visit imo.

Synopsis from the mail.

While I have nothing against MWT, he's just another investigator with an opinion and a living to make.

<modsnip - quoted post was removed>

Not saying this to be a dick but I do think a circumstantial case is based on a narrative. It’s a story based on facts that makes any other way the crime could be committed impossible.

In this instance, it’s possible for the sat nav to indicate he was heading in the direction of PDL but then a gap during the critical time period.

If the link below is to be believed, they have him heading from somewhere to this place 12km from PDL, stationary for six hours, then his onward journey.

It seems likely that he was in or around PDL before this stop and if so bingo! It’s another part of the story.

However, the sat nav will also likely show that he was travelling in and around these areas at all hours every other day - he lived there and committed crime there… even in one of his letters he mentioned travelling at night on back roads or similar… that might be incriminating.

No doubt the BKA’s story puts him in the frame across different pieces of evidence - cell phone data, sat nav trips, emails etc. But, I think there are alternative, equally compelling, narratives that can also explain when, where and why he was at these places.

It might be worthwhile us listing all the evidence we think they have on him and then looking at these more closely to see if we can put some more of the pieces together.

Unlike the phone evidence which proves only that CB's phone was in the area at a relevant time, does the sat-nav provide proof of where he was backed up by his own statement?

If he was a frequent visitor to these places, that may not be very helpful.

While I have nothing against MWT, he's just another investigator with an opinion and a living to make.

He and Clarke are in it entirely for their own self-serving interests imo, always full of puff, full of their own importance, always looking to be first with the 'bombshells' that never land and pretty much always turn out to be damp, click-baity squibs that never amount to anything that adds anything useful to the bigger picture.

I have zero interest in anything either one of them has to say.

CB said he never went back to PDL after Dec 2006. So I assume it'll be very helpful.

Only if his presence in PDL after that date can be proved.
Perhaps he was meaning the town itself, rather than the surrounding area.

Only one is likely to be right though.
