Info in posts below.

A cell tower usually has multiple antennas, each covering a specific part of the area. Azimuth indicates the compass direction (in degrees) that each antenna is pointing, and determines a phones approximate location within a cell's coverage area.

Thanks, I will have a look for the next closest tower. A relevant negative is just as important as a positive. It may very well put him in close proximity if alternative towers are that close. My reading is that the phone was within 1500m of the resort.

I will replace him with phone. Not sure they have conclusively proven he had the phone. Another obstacle.

One assumes that CB had this phone at one time.
He certainly wouldn't have had it while he was in prison.
Is there any public information to show that he had and used it after he left prison at end of his diesel theft sentence ?

Perhaps the guns may not be related to MM but another crime related to CB? Is this a case of the PJ & BKA 'you scratch my back, I'll scratch yours', as in a mutually beneficial act.

If it’s true that the forensics have gone to one place & the guns the other, then perhaps there’s some purpose to it. It seems unusual that the German’s aren’t running point on everything. Perhaps for example; if the gun is linked to him it may stay in Portugal to follow a certain chain of custody path for whatever reason they have.

I see it as his German way of replying politely.
If he said “we don’t think so” I’d be inclined to agree with them.

A play on words to a defence friendly narrative is typical. I remember last year a person who didn’t speak German trying to tell a native German that a German word meant something different.

Another great article by JC today.
VERY interesting that the guns were immediately seized by the PJ & stayed in Portugal to be tested.

I have never found him that reliable. In fact I think he has complicated things.

It is indeed a complicated case.
There was a time when the Sun would have been the last port of call for anything. It now appears to have upped its game by publishing some good journalistic work on the MM case.

JC has been consistently informative in his reportage over the years and one fails to see how any journalist worth his/her salt could 'complicate' anything.
The name of the game is keeping the public informed with accurate reports. Some Portuguese publications seemed to make it up as they went along - picked up by the British. There is an earlier post showing the results of that ended up in libel payments and apologies.

JC is pretty small beer in the sphere of things given the enormity of it all.
One is aware that he doesn't have a fan club attracting opprobrium instead - which seems mystifying.
My opinion

IMO the ‘problem’ with JC is the same as the ‘problem’ with the likes of JG, HCW & CM. Those men are highly critical of CB & have been in some way supportive of the McCann’s. Obviously there are more people disliked for the very same reasons.

This will forever follow the same pattern & there will be little if any examples to show anything to the contrary. I’ve never given it too much airtime for those very reasons.

I am failing to see how the guns are important at all. MM was not abducted at gunpoint was she.

We already know CB is a monster criminal. Criminals have guns.

If it has significance it may be even simpler. Gun - shoot - kill.

Although there is a possibility that finding the gun benefits the prosecutors in another way.

He was the first journalist to report guns were found.
Yes, also, he was the first journalist on the scene in 2007!
He's stuck with the case for 18 years, so very well informed.

Actually that is not the problem at all. The judge at the trial last year made her feelings plain about people giving interviews to the Press. He has said things that were flat out wrong ie that the search last year at the reservoir was to find three bodies. HCW himself has said that was never true.

Likewise it could also be said that people like JC because he is critical of CB and not that he is necessarily factual.

Wasnt Kay Burleigh there?

Yes he has done some great coverage on the MM case & his book about CB was very informative & on point. During an interview he mentioned an **** had written a book & 10000 words were negativity towards him! Why he unknowingly pushes those buttons is beyond me.

Except the pattern is consistent, with all the people I just mentioned. If it was different I’d agree with you but because it isn’t I can’t.

For me I like factual reporting. It is that simple. For that reason I like the German papers.

We don't know what significance the guns hold, if any.

Maybe it has nothing to do with them necessarily as weapons but something as simple as items in the ba ground of a known photo could suddenly mane something without a known connection suddenly very relevant.
