I think the point was that if his DNA was found, it would probably be all that was needed to obtain a conviction.
Once you shared the link for the DNA, I searched and lots of the dna evidence comes from the car the parents rented AFTER mm disappeared and reading more about this offer seems to be more to do with the dogs etc which I think is off topic?

That doesn't invalidate the fact that there are DNA results
I do not wish to discuss the actual results, but only point out that enhanced analysis might advance the case
If you hadn't doubted that the tests were carried out in Uk, the details of the results wouldn't have arisen

What is the point of analysing DNA after the fact? That is all I am saying. I mean analysing DNA that was found in objects/related to objects that were never in contact with MM.

All DNA is collected after the event. I believe that some samples came from 5A, which is where CB would presumably have been

Actually not most. They come from where the dogs alerted on blood- in the living room /trunk of rented car etc. That is why I think this is useless, it's not the DNA that the PJ had collected at the crime scene from what I have understood. Maybe I am wrong

I would have thought that the crime scene samples would be the ones to test as they are the ones that might have traces of CB.
I agree that samples taken outside of 5A would be of no use and have never suggested they would be.

As BKA are keen to nail CB for this crime, traces of his DNA within 5A is the way to go.

Back to CB sleuthing, one thing that intrigues me is that HCW said they “have an answer to that” when asked if they had evidence of CB going into 5a. But things like a partial print or dna on a cigarette butt would he forensic evidence.

There's no mention in that extract of them being bone fragments, so perhaps the bones were recognisable as animal bones. As they were in a bag, they might have been something recognisable like a kitten.
True but then the article says that they were dismissed because they were small. Maybe they were of a complete skeleton then . But it still bugs me - could they drain the reservoir?!

I think the BKA must have a good understanding of DNA available (or not) from the scene and they have said that unfortunately no forensic evidence is available. Therefore, I think this discussion on DNA analysis pertains to the investigation with the dogs and has no bearing on their case.

If its a major water supply for part of the Algarve, I would think it unlikely.
Its an awful lot of water to have to replace afterwards.

Definitely and it is quite deep as well. Perhaps that could be the place though!? But then again they didn't really search in the water in 2023... their searches appear very targeted.

Even a small child has quite large bones compared with many animals, so no doubt bone experts can tell the difference by physical examination.

there was mention before that the satnav indicated CB visited the dam in the years after. I just found this mentioning the days after

Officials in the three countries conducted the sweep after a “very credible tip” suggested that convicted rapist Christian Brueckner visited the site in the days after the tot disappeared.

Is this the place refered to as 'little paradise'?

There are some tiny bones in our body and children tend to have more bones than adults which eventually fuse. That is not to say an expert cannot differentiate the two but sometimes they really need an anthropologist to check them. All this again with the caveat that they didn't find complete skeletons! Interestingly human bones share similarities more closely with canine bones!

As they were in bags, for them to be from MM, or any other child, would imply dismemberment.

Not always.

Playing devil’s advocate - In the days after committing an abduction & murder, would the murderer choose to stay static in the place he disposed of the evidence? Or would his presence at the location be because he was distancing himself from the crime scene & stayed out of the way & a place that he knew well?

It’s interesting that they say they have information suggestion the car &/or the van was used during the course of the crime. How would they know!

"MADELEINE McCann suspect Christian Brueckner could face three extra months behind bars after the woman who paid his fine asked for her money back. The mystery donor - an ex-cop who investigated the suspect - settled a £1,300 outstanding court fine allowing Brueckner, 48, to walk free in September.
But the former German FBI agent has now emailed prosecutors pleading she has made a “mistake” - and begged for the funds to be returned to her.
Officials are taking the request seriously and were last night looking at how the funds could be sent back".................
