Agreed a psychopath still knows right from wrong. The only mental health defence is for someone suffering psychosis, as in a period where they are not aware what they're doing.
It's not just that, psychopaths are master manipulators. Even the vast majority of them who never commit a crime. They are also pathological liars, it's almost impossible for them to tell the truth.

Could it be they haven’t received this letter yet? HCW only mentioned yesterday about it. Is it possible it just hasnt reached the UK from Germany yet?
I feel like the letter was wrote ( if it even exists) because of all the ambiguity in the UK media. The mirror tried to twist his words and go with a headline “‘Madeline could still be alive in U turn” then HCW said he hadn’t said that, and seemed to want to clear this up with the McCanns so claimed he has sent a letter to them, informing that Madeline is dead. I would think it would take a couple days to arrive to them no? So why has kate and Gerry claimed they have received no letter - only a day after? I seem to be the only one thinking perhaps it’s still on route...

Could be but my thinking is imagine sending a letter or even an email with that information in it. It’s really insensitive eh. They should be given the courtesy of a face to face meeting laying out on the table exactly what the German authorities have, that’s their right, even if they have to sign a disclaimer.

I feel so sad for the McCanns having to deal with all this 
. If I read their statement right they don't say they didn't receive a letter, the say the statements in the media about evidence are false.

Their lawyer goes to Germany and comes back and informs the McCanns of any updates. I was feeling sympathy for all concerned in that meeting.
What I have realised through all this is the German authorities are more frank so to speak than us. I think that’s why our media is having a field day and tbh the German authorities are probably shocked. The tabloids here are ruthless and they don’t care who they bring down in the process, they write a reported article as gospel.

Yes, very peculiar. I am 99% sure it said in the Mail's article yesterday that Mitchell had confirmed they had received a letter but it's now been changed to just say Mitchell said the McCanns wont comment of private correspondence.

Yeah I thought the same thing when I heard they’d send a letter in the first place. There’s been no sort of compassion or empathy from the Germans so far I feel tbh. It’s quite a disparity from the met, who are keeping as tight lipped as possible to not upset the McCanns any more than necessary at this point. The amount of interviews HCW is dishing out left right and centre. It’s all a bit odd. Maybe it’s a cultural thing. I dunno.
Who on Earth has the nerve to make up this story about the existence of this letter?The letter is not real.
I know as if to say it was 13 years ago deal with it. I don’t know why HCW continues to feed the media with half stories, that’s the issue here really. Give them an inch and the papers will take a mile. It’s upsetting for us and we aren’t her parents. I’ve lost a few hours sleep thinking about the apparent chat room conversation alone...
Makes you wonder how much rubbish information are the public fed daily...
It’s times like these I’m thankful for ‘some’ of WS strict rules on quoting from reliable sources but then even still we are fed rubbish half the time. I don’t think, unless we were to find ourselves in a a terrible situation, ridiculed and having lies wrote about us can we really begin to understand the true extent of how it must feel. Mud sticks.

This is just a 'crude' example of his psychopathology from profilers, which I do believe is correct. ie- He fits that criminal profile.
I'm not in any way defending him, but he could have other co-existing, undiagnosed psychiatric disorders, or he could claim to have them!
We cannot understand people from merely a label - psychological evaluation is very nuanced and I'm sure his will be evaluated by a psychiatrist in good time.
