DAILY MAIL:

Debris from missing flight Malaysian Airlines flight MH370 washed up on the shores of Reunion three months before a wing flap was discovered on the remote island, it has been claimed.

Two residents said they spotted suitcases and a 'plane seat' in May, but did not think anything of their discoveries until the wing flap - believed to be from the doomed jet - was found on Wednesday.

One man said he believed the items were just 'pieces of rubbish' but now thinks he might have found 'many things that belonged to the plane' without realising.

:noooo:

This is exactly what I said when the first piece was found, the plane debris has probably been washing up for months and no one associated it with MH370! No telling what has been thrown away, I hope the authorities are searching where ever they take the trash they pick up on the beach.

Could jsut be me - but with weight restrictions who would "pacK" some clorox in their bags, in a pressuized airplane that could leak all over your other stuff?

Ha- half of anything made is from that part world! Thats funny!

Think maybe this was stored on the plane in case it was needed for cleaning and not an item packed?

That's what I think too.

Unfortunately they burn any rubbish they find:

One man said he believed the items were just 'pieces of rubbish' but now thinks he might have found 'many things that belonged to the plane' without realising. Nicolas Ferrier, who said his job is to 'collect rubbish and burn it', told The Sunday Telegraph he spotted a blue seat and 'a couple of suitcases' on the beach in early May. 'I burnt them,' he told the newspaper.

How would someone not think of the plane if debris was found? that is what i thought also!! Then again maybe they dont follow news!

Maybe some conveniently don't follow the news, if some might be following precious cargo, imo....

Hmmm...don't know.
Maybe because so much time has passed since the plane disappeared, people weren't really expecting to find plane debris.
And because the debris is being found far from where the plane was believed to have crashed, people didn't really put two and two together right away.

IMO

The volcanic activity in the area may also be impacting the flow and direction of the debris. I'm not a geologist and know a lot about the ocean floor, rock shift etc. but it's very reasonable to consider the impact.

MH370 Search: More Debris Found On Beach

http://news.sky.com/story/1529113/mh370-search-more-debris-found-on-beach

Sky's David Bowden said the object was discovered in a different location to the flaperon which is currently undergoing tests in France to find out if it is from MH370.

...

He said that although it is not known if the object is from the doomed Malaysia Airlines flight or from a Boeing 777, it had Chinese and Malaysian writing on it and was thought to be from the inside of an aircraft.

He said it was taken away by police in a box that was about one foot (30cm) square.

From the article:

"But a Malaysian official - thought to be on the island as part of a search for debris from the doomed flight - has told the Reuters news agency that the object belongs to a "domestic ladder", not a plane part."

My Goodness.

I find this really tragic. The flight was doomed, and any attempts to find out what happened seem to be doomed as well.

If I find an airplane seat and suitcases on a beach - anywhere in the world - I would immediately think of a plane crash and report my findings. I find it very unfortunate that this gentleman did not think of this possibility.

And maybe because sadly, there's a lot of trash in the ocean.

Not too bright.

Here's a question- why does some wreckage sink and other float? And is it too late to determine from currents where the main wreckage might be?

Possibly depending on the weight of it, gasses. I could see hardside suitcases and body parts floating easier than heavy aircraft parts...

I haven't been active on this thread in a long time. Has it been conclusively determined or ruled out that the aircraft parts were from this plane?? I still think the change in direction of the flight was due to pilot/co-pilot sabotage...

No not yet. It has been said that the flapperon is definitely from a 777, but not yet officially confirmed that it was from the MH370 flight. They will examine the piece on Wednesday. Other parts that were found have not been confirmed at all yet to be from an airplane, to be from a 777, or to be from this particular plane.

BBM ~ Isn't MH370, the only missing Boeing 777?

  • #957
Yes it is the only missing 777 in the world.
So unless someone has 777 parts they tossed in there, it has to be mh370.

  • #958
They want to make 150% sure it is from the mh370 flight before they say so, I guess.

He's quite likely someone who has never travelled beyond the island, has no real experience of international travel and may not be plugged in to international affairs.

I can see trashing and burning luggage, that could conceivably wash up from a lot of places... A plane seat would definitely give me pause, even if I wasn't aware of the missing aircraft.
