Well said - I think everyone is fixated on these passports and the unidentified travelers pointing toward terrorism, I

I do not think people are shocked about fake passpoets - however when they are related to a jumbo aircraft that is obliterated in flight it akes on different importance!

But that's exactly my point... Maybe they're not related to a jumbo aircraft being obliterated at all.

Here is BBC Radio 4. Not sure if you can listen live online, but they have podcasts. They have newscasts every hour, and often have interesting interviews.

This is moving so slowly that I can't help but think authorities are dragging their a$$e$ about this whole thing in hopes that anything out there will never be found.
I agree with this as well, it's almost as if they want the story to go away ... it just furthers my suspicion that the Malaysian government knows more than they are telling.

My opinion is that they have a very good idea of what brought that plane down but they want to see the actual wreckage for confirmation before they publicly announce that our 13 year streak is over. People got too complacent, mistakes were made ... and the bad guys happened to get lucky this time.

OT: the last two times I have gone through customs, the CBSA has questioned me. Not in private, but just the customs counter. The first time, it was because I declared a machete as a tool, instead of a weapon. The second time was after I was in the States for 2 weeks and spent probably 1000-2000 dollars and apparently declared that incorrectly too! The officer thought it was suspect that I spent that much on myself...

Anyways...not that this has ANYTHING to do with the topic.

I am Canadian also, and my passport has been scanned in Canadian and US airports.

Also, our passports are hologram so a customs officer are trained to tell if it has been manipulated.

Some countries do not have the sophistication of our security post 911.

With that being said, i've been to Thailand and they have sophisticated methods of forging documents. :moo:

But is it normal to connect through Beijing when travelling to Germany or the Netherlands? Why?
Are there known (to criminals) weaknesses within the system there?

Could taking a round-about flight be because of a direct flight being full or just for the convenience of a departure or arrival time and connection times?

Did the stolen passport people (sppp) come to a ticket counter or order on line? Either way did they come together or within a few minutes of each other or did they use the same computer or from a group of computers at one location (such as a library)?

Did they pay in Thai cash or a credit card? How could they pay in cash if they ordered tickets on line?

Could the sppp have undergone plastic surgery to look like the identity?

I wonder if either of the sppp had taken/attended some pilot training classes or school in preparation?

I'm interested in the method used to determine the identities of the stolen passport holders. I'm trying to catch up but now am reading out of order - ugh - but has it been explained how the faces were connected to the passports?

They found security footage of the 2 guys using those passports. I'm ready for more hard facts myself!

I think the 2 travelers were just a couple of guys looking to illegally immigrate into Western Europe and get the heck out of Malaysia. No serious terrorist of Asian appearance would use names like Luigi from Italy. Doing so would jeopardize the whole mission if there was one. S&P futures down just 2 points - the world has spent all weekend watching this and no signs of panic or great concern.

I'm with you on this one. *piles all his wager into this corner*

I agree with you. But, I really hope we are both wrong!

he was flying 30 minutes ahead of the missing aircraft, and was asked to use his plane's emergency frequency to contact MH370 by Vietnamese air traffic control officials who wanted to establish its location.

We managed to establish contact with MH370 just after 1.30am and asked them if they have transferred into Vietnamese airspace.

There were a lot of interference... static... but I heard mumbling from the other end," said the B777 captain. "That was the last time we heard from them, as we lost the connection."

Malaysian authorities have CCTV recordings of the two passengers who were said to have used false passports to board the missing Beijing-bound Malaysia Airlines flight MH370.

Department of Civil Aviation director-general Azaruddin Abdul Rahman said on Sunday there were only two such passengers, not four as earlier r

idk that bothers me.

What is the mumbling heard from the cockpit? That chills me. A pilot under duress, or a pilot losing consciousness?

I really would like some news now. Not just speculation, jmo

Live Updates

12.39pm AEST
There is a lot of unverified information being circulated about the flight as reports continue trickle in. Overnight it was reported that:

Fragments have been spotted by Vietnamese aircraft which they suspect to be a door from the missing plane. The debris was found in water approximately 80 km southwest of Vietnam’s Tho Chu island. More aircraft are being sent this morning to the site to verify whether it belongs to the missing aircraft.
Family members of one of the passengers on board the flight rang the mobile number of their family member in a video on Beijing Television. The call was connected, but nobody picked up.

No. Considering a person can get a DIRECT flight to Frankfurt from Kuala Lumpur without having to connect in China. I pretended to book a flight on Malaysia Air and there are non-stop flights to Frankfurt.

The only reason I can think of that a person would require a stop-over in China is terrorism. I think this flight's intended target was China. For whatever reason, the attack never went as planned and was crashed into the ocean.

BBM ~ I believe the attack took place once plane was leveled, 911 style.

Very smart as air travel "was" too restricted to the point where you could not a bottle of lotion onboard.

This was a planned attack and the people took it down knew exactly how to do without leaving a trace. ie: emptying all the fuel.

Of course, moo.

U.S. search and rescue forces have confirmed the floating object a Singapore search plane had detected on Sunday afternoon is not in any way connected to Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 that has gone missing since early Saturday, according to a U.S. defense chief based in Vietnam.

DAAAANNNNGGG :banghead:

Im actually beginning to wonder if the plane crashed on land ... it's almost as if it evaporated into thin air. It must have really gone off course big time.

or 2 days before, or day and a half..

The passengers, using the names Luigi Maraldi and Christian Kozel, bought consecutive tickets on 6 March from China Southern, which had a codeshare agreement for the flight, paying in Thai baht. They were booked together to Beijing, where they would have had a stopover of just over 10 hours before travelling onwards to Amsterdam. "Maraldi" was then booked to fly to Copenhagen while "Kozel" was booked on a flight to Frankfurt.

Oh thank you or maybe I should say 'sorry'. The fact the two stolen pp people were landing together in Amsterdam first (before going on to separate destinations) escaped me. Did they plan to lay over in Amsterdam or just meet separate connecting flights I wonder. Trying to determine if they had a legit reason for going to Amsterdam or not.
The fact that both tickets were bought at the same time, under stolen pp, is very hinky imo.

Does anyone happen to know birds' flight migratory patterns/times over that area? It wouldn't be the first time birds have brought down a plane, I think.
