This poor young lady. I do hope she knows her Dad knew she loved him. Very nice letter.

She is not the daughter of the missing pilot. Her father is another Malaysian Airlines pilot. She is just saying she understands the sacrifices her father made as a pilot as he wasn't around for half her life as he was away flying.

Acting Transport Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Tun Hussein has ordered a probe into a ruckus following an attempt by family members to storm the daily press briefing.

Policemen, who were alerted of their presence, then escorted the trio out of the auditorium into the media secretariat room.

However, just as the policemen were trying to shield the trio from the cameras, a commotion broke out with members of the media jostling to record the scenes and turning the situation chaotic for almost 10 minutes.

“I have ordered an immediate inquiry into the events in the press room,” he said in a separate statement.

Among the software found in the simulator were Maldives' Male international airport, a US military-base Diego Garcia and three more 1,000 metre runways - two in India and another in Sri Lanka.

Malaysian officials have confirmed they received 'some radar data' from other countries about the missing Flight MH370 today - but claimed they were 'not at liberty' to release the information.

Goodness gracious, what is there to probe. Maybe how they got away from their minders to go to the media conference! Those minders will be in big trouble. The Malaysian government are out of their depths as they are used to being in total control.

As JerseyGirl said, 5 runways on the simulator isn't breaking news, we knew it yesterday.
Some flight simulators come with hundreds of runways already programmed in.

If the pilot programmed them in there is many legitimate reasons for that.
Part of the purpose of a simulator would be to practice at runways you might need in an emergency.
I'd prefer my pilot have practiced landing at the "emergency runways" he might need.
Rather than landing at them for the first time IN an emergency.

I see nothing nefarious about this... he is a PILOT.
Of course he had runways in the area on his flight simulator.

If he practiced running into buildings, that'd be suspicious.
Practicing landing on RUNWAYS is what pilots do.
The media is driving me crazy, along with everything else in this case. :banghead:

No it did not....had at the bottom of the TV screen and also said this.....did NOT say the strips, just said there were 5 runways on the Simulator that the pilot had....and they were in the Indian Ocean. I tried to grab a screen shot but missed it....Also said FBI also looking at the simulator hard drives of PILOT and Co-Pilot

My jaw dropped as I was learning about them Now, why the media does not find this tidbit of fact - lets go with= "interesting" "worthy of exploring" is ev en more scary

The media needs to move forward a few posts ago there was one that said something like every country checked everyone in the plane and all is well.

Did not want to make post to big 4 days after the plane VANISHED they were awarded a patent on the technology

I have no confusion any more working on chips to make a airplane disappear kinda raps most of it on this end!!

Interesting. If some of that equipment was onboard/in the cargo bay, esp. magnetic sensors, I wonder if that could interfere with navigation equipment?

Does anyone know, or how to find, what the flight weather was that night?

Weather was fine, according to all the reports I've read; not thought to be an issue.

Do you have a link saying they lived in the US because I do not believe they did. They worked for the company yes, but lived overseas.

It'd be my guess they had residences on both sides of the world since they worked for Freescale in Texas but their manufacturing sites were based in Kuala Lumpur and Tianjin, China.

Here's a link to one article, where the wife being interviewed (Jelawati Jalil) said her husband had been with Freescale for over 5 years though not traveling abroad as much recently. She said there had been no 'unusual signs' from her husband before he left for KLIA (Kuala Lumpur Int'l Airport), which was the first leg of their trip:

"There were no strange signs before he left for KLIA. He has been working with Freescale for more than five years. They used to send him abroad previously but it has been a while since his last trip," Jalil said, according to The Malaysian Insider.

Hi, I probably should not say this but this is the difference between their culture and ours. The people also have to realize that maybe at this time no one knows any more. The The fact they havent found the plane scares me. This could again be used as a weapon. :banghead: :seeya:

It's not you, it's CNN. And those 5 airports were later discounted.

The Male airport in Maldives confirmed that the plane did not land there. And India said we're pretty secure and know for a fact that the plane didn't land there either or Sri Lanka.
