OT: I'm watching Zoolander and the opening scene is in Malaysia and they showed some video clip of the Malaysian PM getting elected.
This is our Aussie link .. episode is in two parts. Part 2 is showing on-screen (for me). Part 1 is in the listing to the right.

First, I want to make sure this in fact took place. I am just going by what i'm reading.
BBM ~ Exactly! So, what is going on? Why wasn't this noticed and followed-up on? :banghead:
I do agree....it seems a bit drastic..,,BUT because Anwars acquittal was overturned, it means that he could not run in a by-election, which means he could not run for future prime-minister.... so really IF the pilot did it for political reasons, I would think it was to somehow put a bad spotlight on the corrupt government and overturn the charges on Anwar all together so that he would be capable of becoming next prime minister.......
Once again I say a big "if" as it does seem very drastic to kill 238 innocent people, unless he maybe thought it was worth it for the overall good of his country...
Did anyone in Australia watch th Sixty Minutes segment on it last night....the two aviation experts (one was American) they had in both agreed that it was deliberate, and one even said along the lines of - there is nil, none, zero evidence of mechanical fault in any way............he stressed this point...
I found it interesting and I don't believe it was mechanical either.....
My opinion on why some of us being sort of protective of the pilot is partly due to the way the media treated him.
Some of what's been reported was information that needed to be looked into. He was the captain and this plane was in his hands.
But tons of it was ridiculous. The Daily Mail led the pack in trash "journalism". They tried to make his RC model airplane hobby into something sinister by showing one of his model planes that had the ominous word "RESCUE" on it. They showed a photo of him in the kitchen holding a cleaver and a dish of meat, taking that out of context and trying to make him look like a crazed ax murderer when we all know he was just fond of cooking. They called him a political fanatic because he supported democratic government. And it just went on and on....
The way it's being reported is so unfair when we don't yet know if he's involved or not.
Could have been Fariq that turned it off, since he was the flying the plane (at least that's what was said a few pages back) and was the one communicating with ATC.
I thought it was turned off AFTER MH370 last made contact with any ATC.
What about the transponder being switched off before saying goodnight?
Everything I have heard on CNN is that the plane just stops going forward and falls tail first.
Yes, it was really good .. here it is for locals: http://sixtyminutes.ninemsn.com.au/8821458/Flight-MH370-flight-simulator it's in two parts, these sometimes end up on YouTube during the week, so I'll keep checking just in case it does .. based on what they said, I now think that it was likely the pilot too. I think the transcript is there at the link.
Maybe the two Iranians were thoroughly checked out and found to be innocent. BUT, what if they were given new shoes as a send-off gift, not knowing that one pair was triggered to go off when the plane reached a certain altitude or some other trigger occurred?
I just heard one "expert" on CNN say that the new search area may not be right either and he thinks the plane did not get near that far because of changing altitudes burned gas faster. I think we may need to re-examine all the eye witness accounts and take their word that they spotted or heard something that night. They also need to release the info on the pings and the times and let other organizations recalculate the findings, comparing the results to the accounts of the eye witnesses.
I think it’s totally bizarre that they keep talking about how vast this ocean is, and how remote their location is - yet they keep finding all this trash!
I understand how and why this is happening, but it’s still totally weird that they can find some fishing boat’s discarded bag of peas and carrots, but they can’t find a single item from this massive aircraft.

To any of our pilot peeps:
If the pilot was in a hypoxic state, could he have turned off the transponder while attempting to turn something else on or off? Like communications radio or anything? Anything of interest near that switch? Just a thought I had.
Like a dead stop ? It seems to defy logic.
If I run my car out of gas at 100 mph. It still goes forward. Maybe the tail drops but forward motion doesnt just stop.
PM Abbott said "The search will go on, no matter what."
To paraphrase Celine Dion: Near, far, wherever you are. I beliee that the search will go on.
