where are you coming up with that. ty

Something that been mentioned on these threads as a possibility. That's why I used the word if.

Hypoxia can result from decompression of the plane and lack of oxygen. It can make you lightheaded, confused, disoriented and even comatose and then death. Scary because you don't realize it's happening to you.

To paraphrase Celine Dion: Near, far, wherever you are. I believe that the search will go on.

No. His quote just reminded me of that song. But weird coincidence.

I thought Hypoxia as well

All evidence points to Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370 being lost in the remote Indian Ocean, Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbott said Monday, backing his Malaysian counterpart's view that the plane crashed.

Many relatives of those on board have been incensed at the announcement on March 24 by Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak that -- based on detailed analysis of satellite data -- the plane could be presumed lost at sea.

But Abbott said he agreed with Najib's conclusions.

"The accumulation of evidence is that the aircraft has been lost and it has been lost somewhere in the south of the Indian Ocean," he told reporters at the Perth military base coordinating the search.

I watched a show about a passenger jet which leaked all of its fuel due to improper maintenance but the pilot was able to glide it to a safe landing. They descended at about 2,000 feet per minute.

Air Transat Flight 236 - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I remember that
it was a Canadian flight going overseas to Europe
the Cdn pilot, also a glider pilot, made a successful landing on an island, iirc

Yes, exactly! One of the passengers said as it slowly ran out of fuel the engines stopped, one at time. When all the engines stopped running it became completely silent inside the airplane as it just glided along. How eerie.

If the plane's cabin and cockpit were depressurized, hypoxia would have set in, confusing everyone.

Another delay! Ship on which hydrophone was installed must be inspected before being allowed to proceed. 6 hour delay for inspection and 3 days to get to the area to listen for pinging. Good grief!

And.......time is quickly running out for the battery life on the FDR. Possibly one week left.

This link has an excellent day-day breakdown since MH370 has been lost.

So now they have a missing fishing vessel?

On Mar 30th 2014 AMSA reported that an emergency signal received from a fishing vessel about 3300km/1780nm southwest of Perth needed to be addressed, two aircraft thought to participate in the search for MH-370 were tasked to respond to the fishing vessel - as only debris was located at the point of the signal, the search for the vessel is going to continue on Mar 31st. The remaining 9 aircraft and now 8 ships continued to scan the northern search area west of Perth, aircraft reported new sightings. The objects retrieved from the ocean yesterday have been described as "fishing equipment and other floatsam" unrelated to MH-370

Yup they do . So sad.

did you feel it? how did it compare to the one last week?

O/T sorry

But the picture was so clear!!!:floorlaugh:

I can't understand t refuse to believe pilot suicide can happen!!!

me too or terrorism

g alone be able to get the extra fuel loaded

two different sources stated he put in 60% MORE than one would on that segment plus diversion :

Mr. Hansford pointed to the amount of fuel likely on board the Boeing 777-200, at nearly full capacity with 31,000 gallons instead of the 45 per cent loading required to pilot a flight from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing, as being a strong indicator that MH370's disappearance was not accidental.

but like other things that seem to be vitally worth checking out the media just babbles about the same thing!

was no malfunction, I agree, planes in so much distress wherein the end is crashing into anything do not fly perfectly for 6 hours! Its like saying the car would drive fine with two flat tires -- defies logic!!

recc: the Board believes that the critical elements which need to be recorded by a cockpit imagerecorder include the identities, locations, and actions of the people in the cockpit. The camera(s)
do not have to be mounted such that they are pointed at the faces of the crew while in flight.

Color images are required to clearly discern instrument readings. In glass cockpits, color is usedto provide additional information, such as warnings and status. The color image of the cockpit
must, at a minimum, be able to document where all of the crewmembers are at any given timewhile in the cockpit. In addition, a color image of the flight control positions and exact crew
movements must be documented.

All views must be captured under all lighting conditions, including bright sunlight and darkness. The number of cameras used should be the number
necessary to adequately capture these color....

Very rarely has a water ditching or crash not resulted in breakup, high G loads etc:

Ethiopian Airlines Flight 961 - YouTube

I believe it would all depend on if the plane is being controlled by a pilot and what the speed of descent is. I am envisioning, in this case, a plane on autopilot with no manual control, running out of fuel.
