idk but I can't get that article out of my head about the set-up the pilot had at home. All the monitors, screens, wires etc replicating everything exactly as it is in the boeing.

In my personal experience, many commercial airline pilots are extremely nerdy like that.

Not sure of that. My Belgian passport does not mention skin colour. Don't know how it is in other countries, but mine only has name, last name, date of birth, nationality, gender, expiry date and my picture. I think most European passports follow the same line.

The picture.

Personally I am beginning to think that MAS has more information on the flight than what they have said publicly. ALL of the countries in that area are so very paranoid about every other country and none of them want the blame for this to fall on their shoulders should it turn out to be a terrorist attack. If it was caused by structural failure of some kind (not from a bomb), then I can see MAS not wanting to release that information right away for financial reasons if nothing else. Their stock has already taken a pretty good hit just from news of the crash itself which they can ill afford as it is. Air France flight 447 continued to transmit ACARS information for the 3 + minutes it took the plane to fall from appx. 38,000 ft. to impact with the ocean. I personally believe that there is some ACARS data on the MAS plane.

The second major problem I see is that there are too many unconfirmed rumors being reported as fact. And too many things being said by too many po-dunk "officials" in Malaysia wanting their 15 minutes of fame, instead of having information coming from ONE "official" main source, and one source only!!!

I don't think that we are going to really learn anything until after the plane and it's black box have been located. JMO

Okay, maybe I'm crazy, and maybe this has already been mentioned, but watching the flight radar, just before MAS370 "disappears" another plane in the same area seems to disappear from the screen as well (CCA970). Is that something that commonly happens? I thought maybe it reappeared but I looked and couldn't find it anywhere.

Keep watching it, it disappears then pops back up a little further north east. At first it says no call sign then CCA970 again.

ETA: I watch flightradar24 a lot, it's not uncommon for this to happen, but something I have never seen before is CCA970 turns from a little airplane to a ? just before it lands at Tan Son Nhat Inlt

o.m.g. ugh only for you:lol: I will see if I can find it.

MH370 pilot an aviation junkie, with flight simulator set up at home

Looking, there is a more detailed one.

:tyou: :blowkiss: I can see why this would be stuck in your head.

Am hearing on msnbc that FBI will run thumbprints on two who had stolen passports? Tells me they renewed the passports after stealing them. How else would they have these thumbprints? Are the passengers thumb printed when checking in for a flight?

Ok, time for a weird theory. IIRC, there was a report that somebody saw the plane flying very low. I wonder if it was hijacked and flown under the radar to an abandoned airfield on a coast. There they are loading the plane up with explosives and are planning to fly it into something. Maybe the Chinese capital?

They would have killed all the passengers and flight crew and piled the bodies up in an abandoned hanger.
Ive thought about this myself and the only thing that turns me off is this: how many abandoned runways can accommodate a 777 AND be isolated enough that the terrorists would not be interrupted? Coastal areas of Vietnam and China are pretty densely populated.

I just cannot fathom how this plane has vanished into thin air! :truce:

IIRC when you enter KL they scan your 2 index fingers or 2 thumb prints (can't remember which). Just went there recently.

Thanks, that's cool. Check out the north America area! :scared:

I know!!! I've been watching that when I'm not refreshing here!! It's pretty fascinating.

Mr. ST had a weird theory too. He says they flew into a time-warp, you know like in "Back to the Future".

I had to :slap: him!

I do find it odd that the pilot had such a sophisticated set up at home, unless he also used it to encourage young peoples interests in becoming future pilots.

What is your idea on that?

As to the flying off/under the radar theory, how likely is such a scenario? Who could switch off the transponder signal?

TBH, I'm wondering about that as well but was afraid to weigh in on it. However, this requires a contrived organisatorial efficiency and raises the question of "the "big picture" , if the plane hijacking as an arrangement, falls into the category of preparatory work.

Maybe they flew into a black hole......

Or maybe it's a really big David Blaine magic trick.

Data Issues, happens all the time. Remember FR24 relies on people at home having ADS-B receivers plugged into there home computers. Not always that reliable I am afraid, but FR24 is very accurate for an enthusiast IMHO.

How far in advance were tickets purchased for the two that used stolen passport? Thanks

I have been thinking about it for a few hrs and I can't get past what to do after making the plane "invisible"...if that would be possible even, or why. This is so not my forte'.
