7 virgins are waiting for him in heaven.:scared:

Too bad for him...

Last I heard... They have run out of virgins...

Best he can get may be a young divorcee...

:dunno:

Imo that's coming. The plane's vanishing already caused terror ............to the families and loved ones of the 277 passengers. Terror about this incident is making folks afraid to travel by air...... imo another type of terror.

Did the 9/11 plane flyers leave notes? I don't remember.

Yes, they left video messages.

I think I;d prefer the one that gives me the chance of living - which would be hijacking.

I normally would too... but it would depend on how I was going to die if I didn't get a chance to live.
If they are going to torture me or rape me or hurt my kids while I am forced to watch...
I would much prefer decompression while my kids were sleeping. :twocents:

I just can't figure out what they would do with 239 people including 5 children under 5 that would be pleasant.

What would be the point of stealing a commercial flight?

I mean unless some quack has something to prove?

I don't believe it is:

1. Terrorists (they would of come by now and the date to hijack is not signaficant)
2. Suicidal pilot

What I believe is a catastrophe that was waiting to happen because of poor aircraft maintenance.

Perhaps, it did fly for 4 hours, but no other radar saw it except the one to the West?

Provided that it was hijacked at all... which it may not have been....

I don't actually think they did anything with the passengers while they were still aboard.
But if I needed to get rid of 239 people, I'd certainly prefer to take advantage of the ocean to do it. :twocents:
So that seemed like it would make the most sense and be the easiest.

If they landed the plane safely they clearly intend to use it later for something.
What would they do with 239 people once they landed? That's A LOT of hostages with no contact.
They would be more of a threat to you on the ground when you can't threaten to crash the plane. :twocents:

If this was a well thought out plan, as it seems to be shaping up to be, they'd have made arrangements for the passengers long before putting the plan into motion. Hopefully something that kept them alive.

I'm not so sure about that. It is WAY scarier to think a terrorist organization has a 777 at its disposal and we have no idea where it is and what they plan to do with it and when. They could fly it into a nuclear reactor, load it with dirty bombs and fly it into a city, etc.... To me, the silence is way more intimidating and scary.

I think, just given who I am, my first concern would be with the people IN the plane, not the plane itself.

That the plane itself is even being considered as an object as distraction at this point, . . . I mean, lives are still out there somewhere. They might not be bright, or alive, but they belong to a mother, father, brother, sister, best friend, aunt, uncle. . .

(I have lost things, and people, that I have never gotten an answer to the "why, how come, please tell me, I need that!!" So, I understand why people are wanting answers here in this case.)

That's where my focus is. I wish it was the same with all the other governments involved with the search and rescue for the past 5 days.

I also live in LA, very close. (I am assuming LA, Los Angeles, not LA Louisiana.) You should be more worried about the local level of traffic and smog than a random 777 that I am sure, given our military and our billions we spend on it, coming in and doing something crazy.

Agree. And that's why he had such a sophisticated simulator set up in his house. Possibly to practice flying under the radar & landing in weird places. Authorities need to look at that equipment stat!!

They already have. They talked about it on CNN today.

  • #408
If the plane was hijacked, the purpose of it, will probably determine whether the passengers are alive. If they plan on loading it up with explosives and flying it somewhere, then I don't see why they would keep them alive. But if they are trying to negotiate for something, then it's more likely.

What does this mean? "based on data automatically downloaded and sent to the ground from the Boeing Co 777's engines as part of a routine maintenance and monitoring programme"?

Do we have more details?

Just waking up and catching up...

I wonder if that data would also include information on how the engines stopped, ie. was the plane shut down after landing, did it run out of fuel, was there an abrupt and unexpected stop?

I notice they're now saying up to 5 hours.

And I just cannot come up with a way to hold 239 hostages for this length of time. :dunno:
Maybe a guarded warehouse? But man the food and drink and facilities... and little kids.

Stealing the plane itself would be the motive to use in a later terror attack .

5 hours total, I believe is what they are saying.
4 hours additional after it fell off radar.

So they think it flew almost as long as it was supposed to originally.
It could have almost made it to it's destination. :twocents:

I also wonder if it gives them additional data like ACARS? Or just running time?
I assume it tells them it was FLYING and not just idling on the ground or something...
I hope they didn't just assume that because the engines were running...

Plant a tree.

That is my first concern as well. But we are not terrorists, or governments trying to protect our citizenry. Plus, to be concerned about the passengers, we have to try to understand WHY this happened, what the possible outcomes could be, and how to prevent this from happening again. To me, it is becoming more clear this was a hijacking.

Transponder turned off + no black box pinging + flew for 4 hours under the radar + still unknown location = hijacking.

To care about the people, and to find them, the focus MUST be on the plane!

Thanks! :seeya: I guess I just picture cockpit crew smoking cigarettes and a real fire starting and no one noticing the cabin fire/smoke because of cigarette smoke overwhelming it.

Crazy thoughts as usual. :scared:

Do planes have sprinkler systems?

How does the additional 4 or 5 hours work from a technical perspective? how do they know this and why do they only know this now? all I can find is "based on data from the plane's engines". I don't understand

It's kind of like if you get lost in the wilderness... they tell you to stay with the vehicle you are in.
Or if you crash a plane you are supposed to stay near the plane if possible.
The vehicle is much easier to see than the human... it will be easier to spot a 777 than a human being. :twocents:

Among #MH370 theories: notion that plane was diverted "with the intention of using it later for another purpose."

Aviation investigators and national security officials believe the plane flew for a total of five hours based on data automatically downloaded and sent to the ground from the Boeing Co 777's engines as part of a routine maintenance and monitoring programme, the paper said.

This event has crossed so many lines and what if's.

It's less about finding the people these families are begging for. They can't get answers, we can't get answers, and we might never get em. Might take years.

For the sake of us, and for the light in all human beings, I hope that if something bad has happened we can overcome.

If something hasn't like we had thought, hopefully it gives us pause to reflect and to realize where we, ourselves, went wrong.

Pray for MH370.

I am going to lurk now, and following along with other forums.

Thank you, I asked the question a page before based on this exact phrasing "based on data automatically downloaded and sent to the ground" but I don't understand it, I don't understand why they have the info just now and how the technology works

And. lets not forget that this "gang" evidently do not know how to work z zerox machine (passport kids photos) so sat image well...............

Oh my gosh, the legs...that was something else, wasn't it? Wow....

It is sent to Rolls Royce who makes the engines as part of their monitoring. I do not know precisely how it works.
I just know this information actually came from the USA... who hasn't yet shown themselves unreliable in this situation.

I do believe that the airline should have the same information and MORE from the ACARS system.

We can't get any information from Malaysia on what the ACARS data showed.

http://www.flightglobal.com/news/ar...ommittal-on-mh370-acars-transmissions-396857/

I believe it's possible they already had the data and released it when Malaysia didn't listen to them. :twocents:
Sorry I can't be more specific, maybe someone else can explain exactly how the data is transmitted. :seeya:
