So they had to be in the cockpit, waiting for that precise moment.

That's my guess. Either someone who forced their way into the cockpit or was supposed to be there. The pilot said goodnight to Malaysia and off went the transponder, IMO.

Hadrien Wattrelos and Zhao Yan are listed among passengers missing aboard Malaysia Airlines flight MH370.
The pair, both French citizens, gave Paris as their home town and were listed as being aboard the flight, according to the Beijinger.

Two other passengers on the flight, Laurence Wattrelos, 52, and Ambre Wattrelos, 14, were believed to be Hadrien’s mother and sister, respectively. Ambre is also a student at the French School and Laurence is listed as vice president of the Association des Parents D’Eleves du Lycee Francais International de Pekin, a French parent-teacher organisation, on that group’s website.

live presser in 20 minutes. don't expect a lot of concrete answers or new developments (as has been the norm), but i am expecting the questioning from reporters to be a lot tougher today. some reporters have already indicated on earlier broadcasts that they will be asking questions about the chinese satellite images (i imagine these will be dismissed as irrelevant) and the "extra four hours of flight" report that may-or-may-not-be-from-rolls-royce. skynews will be broadcasting the proceedings live, as usual, but they may cut out early (as they have previously). anyone know if CCTV will be broadcasting live as well?

The fact this plane has sent this data would suggest the ACARS *WAS* working and sending info... which means they would know where it was.

So I'm wondering about this report from the wall street journal. I've noticed that every media outlet that is saying this is getting the story from them, and they are depending on two unnamed sources. I hope this is not another in the long line of mis-information. I wish it could be confirmed.
