WSJ article slapped by Malaysian officials calling it "incorrect" & last data they received was at 1:07 am from plane not 4 hrs later @ABC

https://twitter.com/BobWoodruff

There's radar data and then there's other data sent automatically by the engines (programmed in to the systems of Boeing 777s). The radar data might have been at 1:07 but the engine data is a whole 'nuther thing. If investigative aviation authorities have already said that engine data has been received that indicates the engines ran 5 hrs for that flight, then Malaysian authorities are either confused by the questioning of the reporter or they are lying to smokescreen something.

I am afraid, and it is my belief that if someone hijacked this flight because they wanted the jet, all these passengers will simply be killed.

I reckon that there is a terror cell out there who have just bagged themselves a Boeing 777. I just hope that the passengers are still alive and will be set free eventually.

I also hope that the relevant authorities find out who has this plane before they get the chance to set their plans for it into action. Sorry to be brutal, but they had the opportunity to crash that plane into a busy city and kill the passengers and many others, but they held back. Why? What plans might they have?
If hijackers took the plane and have landed it, I suspect they intend to use the passengers as hostages to achieve some goal. I think its the passengers they want, not the plane.

Based on the latest news and lack thereof, ALL scenarios previously discussed are on the table...I am still focused on the co-pilot. I've tried letting it go, and maybe I'm just being naive in my thinking...His age is what jumped out at me from day 1. He is 27 years old and has been with the airlines since he was 20! He carries a Muslim name and with his prior smoking on board, in flight, convinces me he lacks respect for his position. IMO....in all honesty, everyone on board is looking suspect now ;-)

BBM

Yeah, that sure is right. Even me--I have 4 in mind but I'm probably waaaay off. Still...

Two are the guys with the fake passports and the other is the co-pilot. The fourth...well, I have to wait to see if something comes up 'cause I might be way off base. But yes, that co-pilot is suspicious to me but that's jmo.

I think they want them both. There are much easier ways of kidnapping foreign nationals to hold hostage. I think they are planning a BIG attack and both the plane and the passengers are part of the plan.

Malaysia is denying these reports that it continued to fly. US believes it. I tend to believe the US rather than Malaysia. I hope they find something, although the article said it will take them 24hrs to even get there. :twocents:

Hi guys!
Getting caught up and for the first time I am actually anxious. We all are looking at this as an event that has happened. As the Uyghur angle takes traction and the introduction of mad professor into the mix I fear we might have more of a problem.

What if this is only Act 1? When I move into (the mad professor really bothers me) I think refuel and crash it into a nuclear power plant or something like that. In light of the confusion that still exists it seems all the agencies are like “stalled”, confused and lying cause they still have a THREAT of some kind, do not know what to do and do not want to freak folks out??

The fact that there is no "end" yet might mean we have not gotten there?

I think IMO, The Uygur and military radar are the realities here –scary ones however...........

U.S. officials believe that the missing Malaysia Airlines jetliner may have crashed in the Indian Ocean and is moving the USS Kidd to the area to begin searching.

So now everyone is headed back to the Indian Ocean. Which is where they were headed yesterday until the Chinese satellite images came out. Honestly, could this search effort be any more chaotic?

Indian Ocean is pretty huge. Why do they think it went south as opposed to north towards Bay of Bengal, or maybe India already searched that huge body of water?

Wouldn't it be easier and quicker to send planes over the Indian Ocean. I imagine these military ships take forever to get there?

Yep, this is the sort of thing that I am thinking of. I really do pray that they find this plane and the passengers before any attack can be carried out.

I do see your point... :sigh:

Just WHERE is this plane?

But... On the other hand....

this situation is a huge lesson (IMO) for future global events where many countries join together in a quest to solve a major trajedy...

it may be frustrating... But is informative in that we are witnessing the unfolding of a global event...

and... Hopefully...lessons may be learned from this...

All JMO...

I just heard a radio interview with an airline expert (sorry I missed his title) and he opined that a possible "good" to come out of this would be that many other countries would adopt better security measures (ie: passport scrutiny, no fly lists, etc) that we have in the U.S. which is the "gold standard" at this point. Also that some of the airlines would adopt things the U.S. carriers have - like certain tracking systems.

That report about Rolls Royce possibly having the ability to track the engine data sounds *very* promising but at the same time - you have to wonder why wait 5/6 days to propose doing it?????

These days you think things like "Lost", "Shangri La", and even "Gilligan's Island" are impossible....but we can hope!

Ponders if the engine data also includes geographic coordinates and that is why the US is now looking towards the Indian Ocean.

I think you could be right that this hasnt completely played out yet. But if the plane was hijacked, i think at least one of the pilots must be involved. If the plan was to take, and keep the plane, land it, that requires more skill than the 9-11 guys had in just flying the plane. They would need an actual pilot to safely land the plane.
