So help me, if the Prime Minister refutes the hijacking confirmation after it's already been all over the world via the web, people may rush the stage in anger and frustration.

Don't know if this is true but according to twitter the press conference is delayed slightly as they are gathering the passengers families together.

I'm praying for them right now.

I was wondering whether the hijacking was a deduction given all of the information, or if hijackers had made contact with officials with demands. I pray the hijackers will let the innocents go safely.

Like someone has said a few pages back I think - they could already be dead.

If the aircraft was taken above its service ceiling and the engines flamed out, or cabin pressure turned off, they all would have died back there, with the pilots wearing O2 masks to stay alive ...

I've flown at 41,000 - at this altitude you can start to see the curvature of the earth...

On Sky news they're talking about a girl whose mother is a flight attendant on the plane. The girl has been tweeting that she believes her mother is serving food to the other passengers. I hope she's right.

I guess they are running late because they are picking straws to decided if they were hi jacked or not.

Maybe they will shock us and say'' no hi -jacking took place ,but our plane was stolen!''

On another forum, someone said the hijackers must have connections with military intelligence, so they know where to fly to avoid the military radar or where to land.

Amazing pics. It was reported earlier that the 40,000+ altitude may be in error because of mixed data or something along those lines, having to do with multiple radars and satellite data. Heard on CNN
