Yes, apparently 'opposition group' in this case doesn't mean radical--it's a "legal" opposition group (meaning it's less than radical in the eyes of government).

Oddly enough, he also resembles a new twitter follower I picked up this week. ;D

Who is he?

No idea , My husband told me to look over and see him , he was on a panel with other people sitting there but my sound was off on the TV ,So I grabbed my phone snapped a picture and went to turn the TV up but he was gone.
Hubby said he didnt catch it either.

I did post this before. Most reputable firms will not give out information on whether someone is employed by thm or not. They can be sued under privacy laws. Re Khairul's father. There were later reports of him denying that his son could be involved. There is so much misreporting in Malaysia. At that time maybe the father was incensed at the question of whether he thought his son was involved and just did not answer. JMOO

I don't find anything odd about it either. I imagine if anyone came to me and asked if my husband could be involved in terrorism I would tell them to "f... off" rather angrily. I assume that would then be reported as I declined to answer. (I realise it was his son but out of my whole family it would be my husband I would most likely questioned about because of his job).

[Off topic] :

Great movie. I read the book as well. Frank really is a fascinating guy.

Really. So is my brilliant son. And my gangsta, alias-toting grandpa... ;D

That is one of my favourite movies! :loveyou:

One of mine, too. And, have to say, LOVE the TV show.

[/Off topic]

:D <-- wore green today and drank a green margarita

"SEPANG: The last words – “All right, good night” – spoken from the cockpit of Malaysia Airlines light MH370 was uttered by co-pilot Fariq Abdul Hamid.

“Initial investigations indicate it was the co-pilot who spoke the last time any communication was recorded on tape.

“The recording is now with air traffic control,” MAS chief executive officer Ahmad Jauhari Yahya said at a news briefing yesterday.

Captain Zaharie Ahmad Shah and his first officer Fariq have become a primary focus of the investigation into the fate of Flight 370, with one of the key questions being who was controlling the aircraft when the communications systems were disabled."

He posted condolences on Facebook...if he truly had an interest in it, I would bet investigators have already looked into it.

I bet most of the world had an interest in it at some stage. I wonder how many people from this thread spent days researching and posting in the one on the Boston Bombings? I wonder what their search history would show.

That is one nation which is on top of everything regarding security and I applaud them. No theory should be dismissed at this point; someone took that plane very much off course for some nefarious purpose.

MOO

At this point, it could be 2000 feet in a vast ocean somewhere. IDK anymore.

I still have hope though. :candle:

On a panel...might he have been an air crash consultant? (My guy is.)

Respectful musing..

All right Good night.

To add night..

[ame="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ramadan"]Ramadan - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia[/ame]

"Night of Power
Main article: Laylat al-Qadr

Laylat al-Qadr, which in Arabic means "the night of power" or "the night of decree," is considered the most holy night of the year.[18][19] This is the night in which Muslims believe the first revelation of the Quran was sent down to Muhammad stating that this night was "better than one thousand months [of proper worship], as stated in Chapter 97:3 of the Qu'ran.

Also, generally, Laylat al-Qadr is believed to have occurred on an odd-numbered night during the last 10 days of Ramadan, i.e., the night of the 21st, 23rd, 25th, 27th or 29th. The Dawoodi Bohra Community believe that 23rd night is laylat al Qadr."

"If" this was a catastrophic event how did this plane manage to fly for 7 hours. Every theory I bounce defies logic :banghead:

ITA.
I can't see the plane having a catastrophic event and then still managing to fly for another 7 hours. It just doesn't seem possible.

Is loss of pressurization considered a catastrophic event? If it wasn't explosive decompression, then the plane's functioning wouldn't be affected, but everyone would be dead.

Was Malaysia ATC the only unit on the ground that had verbal comm with the plane?

I don't know if someone's responded to this already, but from what I've read there are two parts to ACARS. The first part, that can be disabled using the pilot's controls, and the second part, which requires going under the cockpit to disable. I have read that the first part was disabled, but not the second - unless that information has changed.

It's my understanding it can be degraded manually within the cockpit. The reason for that being once a plane has landed Pilot degrades the system which is expected from Air traffic control. In order to disable it completely it requires going under the cockpit. Also my understanding it was disabled completely.

All right Good night.

Alla right God.

Do people not use the term good night anymore or something? If he'd said some random word, I could see trying to decode it. But he was signing off...and it was at night...there's no mystery to decode unless you think the pilot was trying to create some indecipherable double meaning as a hint.

I'm sure this has been answered, but all communication was in English during this time, right?

BBM ~ As much as my gut does not tell me the Captain is involved, a bit of me believes the FO may be.

I guess they have to work from the inside out just like any other mystery. :twocents:

This is what I meant about flying on autopilot if incapacitated (not going in the purposeful zig-zag of flying between wayfaring stops):
