Putin has always reminded me of a big bully. If he is at all involved in any way, among the paybacks he gets for this, he should lose this. I never understood why Russia was ever picked. Who can trust Putin 4 yrs from now?

If it was a russian missle, iirc those are ending up in the fighters hands in that area, it may be hard to know if it was actually russia or someone else with a second hand missile. But if what I am reading is right, then malaysia should not be using that path/route. Probably using it to save on fuel. jmo idk

I find it interesting that Obama was on the phone with Putin this morning advising him of new sanctions being imposed on Russia for supplying weapons to separatists in Ukraine. And toward the end of the call Putin casually mentions that this aircraft was down. It seems to me that Putin is becoming much more than a thorn in Obama's side.

I don't think any rational person thinks that the Ukrainian military had anything to do with this. JMO

With this incident, it was confirmed it was shot down.
With MH370, no one wants to come forward as being responsible for shooting down the plane (if indeed that's what happened with that one).
Very weird, nonetheless.

My guess would be that since / if 370 was shot down and went into the ocean and no scrap of it was ever found , whoever shot it down thought they got away with it and there was no proof. Here is a skirmish between Russia and Ukraine...... they've got their own ' problem' and what good would it do and how would it LOOK to the world if one of them on purpose or accidentally shot down an unrelated plane from a ' neutral ' country ?
I don't know. It's definitely a game changer.......what game and what changes, I cannot begin to guess !

They probably already know where it came from IMO. They've had hours to pull surveillance in the area. So it won't matter where the missile came from, they will know who fired it. We just might not find out anytime soon And yes, i believe they didn't want to waste time and fuel diverting around that area. What a horrible reason for the loss of all those lives, so sad.

Oh great! The airline is down in an area controlled by Russia. Russia will not let the Ukraine people in to investigate the crash site.

Now we'll never know the truth!

Oh, Amsterdam said there were a few 'tour groups' from their country onboard.
